Divintra ducked into a side street and pressed a hand to his forehead. Closeing his pruple eyes, he suffered a moment in silence. Lin had been berating him all day, she had not given him a moments peace since they had seen that temple. Normally he tried to avoid any sites that promoted worship to the spider queen. For the longest time it was only due to his own fear of one of the priestessess being able to just look at him and know his devotion was promised to the son of the Spider Queen. Of course, his pale skin would be enough he was sure to perk ones interest. He really wanted to avoid that. But the longer he and Lin were together, the more vocal she became when he did something she did not approve of. Sure, he could handle her scolding over drinking alcohol. She did not think he was old enough for it. Yes, he could handle her scolding over not going to bed early enough, or not eating enough healthy foods. They were motherly traits that made him feel warmth for his little soul familar. Even when she berated him for not taking more of a cut from his associates or taking advantage of a situation for profit. Those things he could appreciate in a way. It let him know that she cared for him, in a way his missing mother once did. Then there were times when they were both utterly at odds.
Such as now.
~You know I'm right! It's where you belong! Your being ungrateful. Disrespectful child! You have a gift and should be useing it the proper way~
This was the start of another cycle. There would be no end to it until he did something she approved of or he did something else for her to be unhappy about. Her soft voice sounded so loud in his head at times! He was almost certain some passerby would be able to pick up on her scolding words despite the fact they were only in his head.
Yes...yes I know. We have been over this before Lin. I just...I would not be happy there. They would lock me up, if I was lucky. I like to travel Lin. I like to wander from city to city. If they did not lock us up I am sure they would kill me just for what I am. And let's not forget who I...
He got no further then that of course, as Lin's voice rose over his own inner thoughts. ~ That is no excuse! You have a gift that the priestessess would be appreciative to protect! So what if you've made some bad choices, your still just a child! A little pennance will cleanse you and make you presentable!~
Divintra shook his head and pressed his back to the wall of the ally for support. He kept his palm pressed flat to his temple, and attempted to clear his thoughts completely. Sometimes if he could manage to do that long enough Lin would quiet down and become distracted by something else.

Seers were supposed to be exceedingly rare. The odds of finding two in the same alleyway were so low as to be laughable and yet, that was exactly what had happened! Divinitra had ducked in there to deal with a headache and Talice had ducked in there because she had spotted a fellow priestess and had no desire to be recognized. Seers were guarded carefully like the treasures they were and although Talice fully understood why that was so, she still occasionally felt the desire to venture out into the world without being flanked by her guards or carried on a palanquin. It wasn't because she had any romantic notions about what life outside the temple was like -- no, indeed! It was simply that the Seer had grown up outside the temple and sometimes, she felt homesick for the Underdark. It wasn't the same inside the temple. The temple was like a luxurious prison; she was given everything she could desire in order to keep her relaxed enough to go into trances, but she wasn't allowed to leave unless surrounded by protectors. Evading the guards was simple, though. She'd never been caught and therefore, none of the matrons suspected that Talice would ever be so stupid as to endanger herself by going out unescorted. All Talice had to do was express a desire to rest, retire to her sleeping chamber and then slip out through the window. Seers were so isolated from the rest of the temple folk that Talice wasn't instantly recognizable as long as she kept moving and didn't let anyone see her face. The veil helped with that. Talice wore the black half-veil at all times except when Prophesying. If she was caught up in a vision, then she'd untie the veil naturally so that her voice could be heard more clearly. Otherwise, it masked the lower half of her face, drawing attention to the brilliance of her green eyes to make it clear how unlike the glassy orbs she had when caught within a vision. Green eyes were unusual for a drow. Then again, so was white skin. Tal stared at the albino with frank curiosity. This was the first time she'd seen one so close! Usually they were trained to be surface raiders or spies or something. It was a male, too. What was a male albino doing out on its own? She focused for a moment, trying to read him with her Sight. "Who are you?"

Lin had fallen silent. Divintra's lips turned upwards into a ghost of a smile. If he kept practiceing like this eventually he'd be able to tune her out completely. Who knew? Perhaps such mental exersizes would help him with bringing on his visions? Then he could skip the need for alcohol and Lin would have one less thing to complain about to him.
A females voice cut through his attempt of mental clarity. With a start Divintra's head jerked upwards and his purple eyes flipped open. With a startled surprise, he turned to peer at the female that had spoken to him. The hand upon his temple moved to brush some of his white hair back behind his ear. Though when his hand lowered it merely flopped back into place beside his eyes. It took Divintra a few moments to calm the rapid pace of his heart, during which time his purple eyes briefly swept over the females form. The thief that his mother attempted to encourage within him noted the apperant wealth she wore. In the cut and quality of her cloths he saw a woman who most likely was a noble.
"I...am Divintra." He replied with only a small amount of hesitation. Consciously he brushed one pale palm over the black leather of his vest, then he dropped it down to the black messenger bag upon his hip. "Who are you?"
((I am assumeing that she is useing her True sight on Divvy eh? Since I do not know how it will show up for her I'll let you decide ^_^ Divintra is...erm...a rather good guy. He lacks the normal malice and sadisticness of typical drow. He is pretty mild and a touch sensitive. He has used his sight on himself before and found himself to be more of a 'grey' when everyone else to him seems 'black'. His Sight is not very developed yet. >.> He has not had anyone to teach him XD Cause you know... that would require the help of the temple XD))

Normally, Talice's response to being asked who she was would've been to say that she is a Seer of the temple, a servant of the Spider Mother and anything beyond that was not the business of a mere male. In this case, however, saying she was a Seer would simply get her sent back to the Temple. About to lie, she instead hesitated, staring at Divintra intently. Her eyes glazed over slightly, the bright green of them turning opaque and cloudy.
This didn't make any sense. What she was reading from him, she hadn't seen before except in other Seers and even then, it had looked different. Besides, this Divinitra couldn't be a Seer. He was a male! Why would the Spider Goddess bless a male with her favor?
Realizing that she'd been quiet for too long, Talice let her True Sight dissolve. She didn't offer her hand to the Divintra, instead stating coolly, with no small amount of suspicion, "I am Talice."
Divintra had offered no House name or affiliation. Talice did the exact same thing, choosing to keep the information she gave to a bare minimum. Her eyes narrowed, trying to figure out what was going on with this other drow. Not a Seer. Impossible. But he didn't read like an enchanter, and the color of his skin couldn't affect his aura. That was impossible too.
((I'm being deliberately vague since I didn't want her to godmod here. She can tell that his aura is off but she might not realize exactly what he is given that he's a male and she probably hasn't seen many other Seers. XD He can use True Sight on her as well and see whatever she needs to.))

Oh...oh dear... Divintra's purple eyes widened as he looked into Talice's own. For a moment her eyes seemed more bright and noticeable. Actually it was a very pretty color, it reminded Divintra of one of those highly polished emeralds, or perhaps what he imagined a green dragons scales may shine like. He heard dragons were quiet vain and took excellent care of their scales. Then the lovely color seemed to grow...hazed over? Divintra's brows furrowed uncertainly as Talice's eyes clouded over. She was useing a spell of some sort. That much was terribly clear. Divintra shifted back a step uneasily. What sort of spell was she casting with her eyes? Why was she looking so intently at him?
The longer Talice stared at him so, the more uneasy Divintra grew under her gaze. He felt a shifting in his messenger bag, and for a moment he worried that Lin would float herself out to confront the female. Lin. Stay. Please. I don't know if I'm going to have to run and it's easier on us both if you just stay in the bag. He thought firmly at his little familar.
~I want to know what is going on. What has you uneasy?~ Lin grumbled in his mind, but thankfully she did not creep out of her hiding spot. The female finally gave him her name, but nothing more to go by. Well...he was not in the middle of a job, so he doubted she was some sort of thief come to steal a delivery. Nor an assassin for the same means. Still, it could be possible she was seeking him out? Or was that just a touch of paranoia on his part? It would make sense he'd start gaining more attention the more Houses he did work for he supposed. Still...this did not seem right at all.
"Ah...well..it is a pleasure to make your aquaintice Miss Talice." Divintra hesitatingly responded after a pause on his part. It never hurt to show respect. It often staved off unpleasentness, this was a lesson he held more faith in then most other things.
~It's a female? You should have her take you to the temple.~ Lin's voice cut in. Oh...God please. He did not need Lin distracting him right now with her determined scoldings.
"If it...is a inconvience to you to have me here in the alley, I will depart." Divintra decided to offer the most painless manner of backing away from the female. As he suspected there was more of a reason to her stareing then he could put his finger on right now, and the uneasy knowledge she had used some sort of spell to consider. Divintra figured it would be best if he merely offered her the chance to dismiss him before something happened. Alleyways were not places he cared to do busniness in anymore. He really prefered the safety of the taverns where he knew that the tender would be watching his back.
((Heh ^_^ Divintra doesn't like seeing other peoples True selves as it were. He's only seen one 'good' elf in his entier life and that was right before he died. He's self taught in many things, meaning his spell knowledge is limited, he can only hear surface thoughts when he touches someone too. So it'll be a shock when and if he finds out she is a Seer *Grins madly*))
