He was still getting setteled in, happy to have gotten the basement as he preferred the dark over a many windowed room. Setting up candles and candelabras to allow for dim lighting he found the whole experience delightful. He had yet to meet any of the other staff members aside from the ones who spoke with him at his interview.
It did not matter, as long as he had students willing to learn and expand their ever so moldable mind he would be happy. Despite the graying in his hair, something he had decided was..distinguished instead of a sign of growing older, he moved with a fluid stride, checking over his classroom to make sure it was up to his standards. He didn't have desks...only low tables and pillows on the floor. Desks were too stifling and tended to cramp the creative mind in his opinion.
He went to check over the chart he had been given. Oliver was the student he'd be teaching today, he had been warned about the kids who came from this place...but he was a warlock..nothing really truely surprised him anymore.
He went to his 'table' and flipped open a large tome thumbing it through it easily as breathing air. He'd just have to be patient for his student to arrive...yes...patient.

((Augh, I'm horribly sorry to reply to this so late, it's finals time and I am dumb and registered right before a math test xx; ))
Oliver's little brows were furrowed lightly as he made his way down, further and further. He was sure he had never been this far down before. The information for this class stated that it was down in a basement room. Had Trace not been with him, he would be very worried indeed. But he was in good company, and the dragon's sureness bolstered his confidence. Besides his light anxiety, he was eager, for today he hoped to learn a bit of magic, the stuff beyond the basics. How fascinating it all sounded! He hurried down the steps, a hand held over the railing.
Trace, ever faithful, plodded down the steps next to his companion child, eyes darting about, chattering softly in draconic about how odd it was to have a class this far down. How mysterious it all was! Would it be dark down there, like the dungeons of a fairytale? His wings fluttered softly, and he resisted the urge to attempt to glide down the stairs.

Thaddeus looked up when he heard the door open form the top of the stiars. He was..sensitive to the sounds down here, being locked down in a basement most of the day and night with his studies...he had come to reconize a lot of sounds.
Snapping his book closed when the child neared the bottom he gave a smile and stood up. Moving his cape dramatically behind him as he took a step forward.
"Greetings Oliver and his companion," He stated with a loud but clear voice. He didn't sound like he was shouting, but he could definantely project his voice so that anyone could hear him in the dungeon like setting.
"Welcome to my Classroom and to the world of magic," He introduced himself with a sweeping bow.

Oliver couldn't help but grin a little as his eyes got used to the dark, and finally settled on his new teacher. This is what he had been wanting back in the basic magic classes. The man even looking like a magician, but he knew it was much more serious than magic tricks.
"Hello, Mr. Zyane." he said, and bowed back a bit awkwardly after his teacher had. "It's nice to meet you, I've really been looking forward to this class. This is my dragon, Trace." he said, introducing his brass compadre. The young wyrmling bowed down in his own comical manner, before looking up and chirping a short "Hello, hello!" before piping down again.

Zyane only smiled at the bronzes cute little chirp of hello. His grin was warm there was nothing menacing about this gentleman in the least. He returned his focus back to Oliver.
"Well I am glad you are excited about this class," He stated as he threw a hand up into the air a series of small soft glowing orbs blossoming from the tips of his fingers that then danced and floated towards Oliver. It was a bit showy...but he liked making children fall in love with magic.
"Now tell me lad, what do you know about magic thus far? Or have you experienced any form of it before?"

Oliver was quickly forgetting that the location of the classroom was so far down. This teacher seemed as if he would become the most interesting yet. Oliver was holding out on the hope that he could excel at magic, as he still wasn't very confident with his fighting abilities. He gasped a little as the glowing orbs appeared.
Trace practically leapt up to try and catch them, chattering excitedly as Oliver tried to calm him.
"Easy Trace! Please excuse him...." Oliver chuckled as he got the wyrmling to focus back on him. "Now, let's see. In my previous magic class we learned the types of magic, which are innate, and learned, and the subcategories of the innate magic user. It was all kind of vague, really." he said, rubbing the back of his neck. They had gone more indepth with innate magic, which he was sure wasn't the kind he possessed.

Thaddeus looked the young man over and nodded his head, a shame really. He wasn't sure why some of the other magic teachers were only discussing the theories of magic...sure it made sense on a whole level though it was a waste of time. The best way to learn was to do it wasn't it?
"Well then my boy, I think it is best we try a summoning spell." he explained watching at the little dragon lept for the glowing orbs that were floating about. Chuckling he made a slight gesture with his hand allowing the orbs to float up and settle up against the ceiling.
"You think you are up for the challenge?" came the inquiry as Thaddeus looked the boy over.
