I can't say I agree. Yeah, we should protect what we love, but we shouldn't have to give up everything. I mean, being prepared to give up everything, being prepared to die, that's something that comes with every cause. But just dropping everything? Like it means nothing?
*shakes head* I think we should protect what we love, and embrace our lives as much as we can, rather than give it all up. I mean, mama never gave up on her dream, and neither did daddy. Even now, they're still living their dreams.

I refuse to give up everything.
My mother refused to give up her dreams, and she married my father and restored the Jupiter Kingdom.
Though we are allies with Crystal Tokyo, we do not consider the Royal Family higher than ours. We consider our family as equal in status. They do not have authority over us or rule over us.
I will protect those I love, but I will not serve the Moon Princess by default when I am equal in status and equal in power. In fact, my power may exceed hers. There is no "The Princess." Every Senshi is a Princess or Queen in her own right.
I am willing to sacrifice my life for my beloved (there is a chance I can come back through the Star Seed, and me being a phoenix and all), but I will not give up my dreams or be subservient to someone. Anyone who asks me to do that is not a loved one, and is not worthy of my protection or love.

*nods* My daughter speaks the truth. A balance has to be achieved for warriors to be most effective. It's not enough we fight for our cause; we have to take time to commune with so-called "normal" lives, else we have no place in the world we strive to create.
*shakes head* I saw it all the time in Aselia. Soldiers, mages, fighting blindly, though they knew not for what, and when war was over, they were lost. They were helpless.
We can't become lost or helpless. We have to understand why we're fighting. We can't just be fighters, we have to be builders as well.

You all dont understand, to protect what you love, you MUST be able to give up everything, otherwise theres always going to be something holding you back. When you let your emotions and your personal life get in the way you loose the ability to do what needs to be done. Those who are not willing to give up everything will always be defeated. I may be a kind and elegant artist and musician just like my mother (Michiru) but also like my mother, when it comes down to my duty as a senshi, Ill do whatever it takes, and I wont let anything get in my way.

As a real guardian to my families tradition, we go by this:
When you think you have nothing to lose, look at your family. Fight with courage, know when to engage in a fight and when not to. Never back down, stand firm as if you are a 100 year old oak. Fight for what you believe in.
I use this to as a senshi.
