Kiergan had been wandering for some time now... she felt like she was searching for something, but she wasn't quite sure what that might be. She would drift into and out of the lands of others. Some, the ones who were friendly to outsiders, would welcome her in. Some would invite her to stay - for after all ... she had a lovely voice, a bard by birth and trade. But she always moved on, because it didn't feel quite right. Other prides chased her out with violent words or with physicaly violence. Now, she didn't mind a good fight, but when she was outnumbed? Oh, she would run... and go back to wandering.
Just now... she could see a dark line of huge trees up ahead and curiously turned her paws in that direction. It was night now, but she rather liked the dark...
Jasiri was in a FOUL mood. Stupid Dahabu being all...SHINY. He smiled so much...when she attacked him, when she beat him up, and even when she insulted him! And he seemed to outshine the moon when she praised him even the smallest bit. Or when he talked about his mother. It just made her so confused and so MAD. And so she was lurking on the edges of the jungle, waiting to pounce anyone suspicious looking. She was only a juvenile...but she could cause some damage...then sink back into the shadows to go home.
And she got her chance. With a wicked grin, she growled and pounced at the leg of the 'intruder'. "Wrong place!"
Kiergan jumped just slightly and blinked as a shape suddenly darted out of the undergrowth and attached itself to her leg. Looking down, she tilted head... oh my. Well, this was a change. Usually there were adults about to chase her off if she was near a hostile pride. "Whatever do you mean by 'wrong place' little one?" she asked, ignoring the slight sting of pain from the juve's claws.
Jasiri glared up, orange eyes a little eerie despite her splotchy coat. "This is The Coven's territory. Silly normals like you aren't welcome." She grinned. "Unless you wanna be food~" That hadn't occurred to her until now...Maybe she could bring home a Blood Binder! Ooooo....Daddy would be so proud of his baby girl!
Kiergan leaned down a bit, ears perking toward the smaller female. "And just what is the Coven, pray-tell?" she half-purred - interested now. "Besides that... I don't think that you would be able to eat me all by yourself," she teased lightly, tail-tip flicking.
Jasiri laughed. "Oh not your flesh, silly silly! Your blood~ And it wouldn't be all at once. Blood Binders live for as long as they normally do." Her laugh died to a giggle. "The Coven are the lions the Blood Mother has blessed. We ARE the night, the shadows..." Her giggle died and her grin was feral. "The Mwana-a'Lela."
Something within the bard seemed to shiver slightly at that - but not in fear. Oh no...this ... this was a feeling of anticipation. "So ... your pride feeds upon blood?" she inquired - wanting to be certain that she had this right. She had always rather liked the taste of blood from her kills. Though she hadn't thought of living -only- on blood, she supposed it must be possible, for this pride to exist...
"We do~ Not solely...but we need blood to live." She ran her tongue over her muzzle. "And it's rather tasty~" She let go of the older female's leg. "I'm Jasiri. And you are~?" She was in a better mood. A much better mood. Only a juvenile, and she was already getting new blood, either to eat or to increase their numbers! Daddy would be VERY proud!
"My name is Kiergan," she replied, sitting down and eyeing her leg for a moment. With a mental shrug, she decided to leave it alone for now. Even if it scarred, the marks would be small - she didn't mind that so much. Especially if it was all the price she'd have to pay for information about this place. "I just say, Jasiri ... that I'm quite interested in this pride of yours," she murmured then.
Jasiri grinned. "Interested? Well then..." She chuckled. "We're all like a family. We drink the blood of those who do not share the blessing. We hunt, and we lure in new blood...both to drink and to join us." She posed a bit, showing that despite her age and scrappiness, she was a very attractive little girl. "We girls are the best at it, because we're pretty!"
Kiergan blinked, and then laughed softly at that. "Is that so ...? And what of those who join you? Is there any sort of ah ... proceedure to go through?" she asked. This ... this seemed -right-. She felt as if she belonged here.
Jasiri opened her mouth....then closed it and blinked. "Ya know...'M not sure. I think you gotta talk to the Drakun and Valile. They're in charge." She grinned. "They're the perfect Coven members! Moses is very handsome and strong, and Afritti'dogo is the most beautiful lioness ever!" She did admire the rulers, even more than she admired her father. And honestly....their approval meant more to her than her father's, if she could earn it.
"They sound very important," Kiergan replied at that, seriously. "What do you think, Jasiri, hmm?" she asked then, smiling slightly. "Would you like for me to join your pride? I think that I could learn to live mostly upon blood..."
Jasiri nodded brightly. "I think you'd be a good addition! You're certainly pretty. And...you look like a good hunter~" Yeah...she looked the part perfect! A dark temptress of the blood. "Follow me!" And into the jungle she dashed. Test number one~....Keep up!
Kiergan nodded quickly at that and followed the younger lioness into the deeper shadows cast by the huge trees. It wasn't all that hard to keep up with Jasiri, but ... the juve knew these paths better. And there were times the smaller female wriggled through places that Kiergan had to find a way around instead.
Oh good, good! She was keeping up fairly well! Jasiri giggled and sat, waiting for Kiergan. "You're good~" She grinned. "Welcome to the Coven. Or the edges anyways. I'll get one of the rulers, you wait here." And she took off towards the rulers' den. She'd made her first lure! Ooooo~ Daddy AND the rulers would be SOOOOO proud!
