Yeah.. You do... I haven't been to Japan, but my father has been. I have a couple of Japanese dolls hanging around in my living room. They're one of those glass ones in kimono's. I have lived in Asia. I was actually born there. Every school in Asia you have uniforms that are provided by the school.

When you are like in 2nd grade and below, you wear those cute hats on feild trips.
You have to wear uniforms from middle school to high school.
The uniforms are like the ones in animes...Sometimes.
Two different uniforms, one for winter and one for spring.
The skirts aren;t usually short. If they are, it's more of a skort.
Teachers switch the classes no you.
Most schools have culture festivals, founder's festivals, and sports festivals, before or after testing.
Of course, you have homework.
It is completely normal to bring Bento to lunch! No one will stare at you like where I'm at!
I think that's all I know.
I knew this from anime and my mom, who is Japanese and attended Japanese schools.

Oh schools in Japan is really tiring. You wake up at 7:00am and get ready for school, 4 hours later it's lunch time for only 30 minutes. Then another 6 hours of school >:l

ooo, Japanese shcools, one of my favorite subjects. In japan, there are uniforms. The problem I find wwith them though is that no matter the season, girl's have to wear skirts through out the whole school year -_-;. A japanese school is actually quite different from an American school. For one, you know how you how teh students move from class to class after each period? In japan, the TEACHERS are the ones who move to a different class! Lunch is interesting too, they have no cafeteria, students eat in the classroom. It has been known that some students eat on the roof. There is even a vending machine up there! Here's another problem, the girl's gym uniforms. The top is innocent enogh, a simple t-shirt. But the bottom part is kinda like a bikini bottom. But, I haev seen some uniforms that are shorts.
LOL, woops, I ranted. *snickers* sorry, if you have any other question abouts japanese school, fill free to ask.

i know in some japanese schools it is mandatory to join a club or extracericular activty if you dont have cram school, not all but some, and you have 6 day school weeks and summer brack is only a month long and you have alternating school dutes like cleaning and other stuff, and high school is only 10th-12th, their are no school transits(school buses) grades are numatic mening you get 1-5 mening 1 is F and 5 is A. that is all i know that havent been posted.

i have lived in japan,i speak japanese, and i was born there razz
in elementary school, you dont have uniforms, but you are required to wear this special backpack that have only two colors, black for boys, red for girls, its weird
heres a link to where u can see this backpack,in japanese, you call it a randoseru it's pretty much the same backpack you'll find in elementary schools all over Japan
http://japan-cc.com/randoseru.htm
and in middle and high schools, there are two type of uniforms,
sailor outfits and military style for girls, and for boys, mainly gakuran
you can look it up razz ,and it also includes a backpack that looks a lot like briefcases, which is part of their uniform ,its pretty much what you see in those animes rolleyes hope this info helped
