It was nearing that festive time of the year. And as such, the mall was putting up their decorations in a fit of 'pre-black friday holiday cheer!' in an effort to beat out the competition by starting things early. Though, if one thought about it, if they were only putting the decorations up two days before black friday, they were actually kind of late.

However, as Ebony sat on a bench in the mall where there was usually a fountain set up, she was perfectly content with them putting up the tree at this time. She'd been there since early that morning, occasionally wandering into the food court for some cocoa or food, before going back to lounging on the bench and watching as the large, thick tree, became increasingly coated. The lights had taken at least an hour to put up right and make work, and by now the girl was getting used to calling up to the men operating them if there was a problem. Or bringing them things to drink - after all, they were her entertainment for the day.

Stacie had given the boy specific instructions to stay near the tree while she went off to do her shopping. It was hard with no real family alive to find a babysitter for the spawn while she attempted to do some Christmas shopping, but she had left him on his own before, and he was good with listening, and he insisted that he would be a good boy, so she gave him a bit of money for food and snacks if he got hungry and was off, leaving Bovi to his own devices.

Now this was the biggest tree Bovi had ever seen. He pondered, wondering if it was real or fake. Probably fake, due to things like allergies and keeping it alive and that real trees made messes with their leaves, or in this case, needles. This was also the first Christmas tree he had ever seen, seeing as he was brought into this world a few days after Christmas and that Mama-Stace said she liked to cut down her own tree, thus doesn't get one until mid-December.

"Nifty~" he cooed as he watched, his neck starting to strain from looking up so long.

Ebby glanced over and smiled as she spotted another child staring up at the tree. "It is, isn't it?" the teen inquired with a smile, walking over to greet the boy. "Is this your first Christmas?"

Bovi's ears perked, or as much as the average ear could anyway, at the voice that was directed to him. He looked over to see the older purple lady coming his way and grinned at her.

"Yup~" he chimed before turning his attention back to the tree. "My first time seeing a Christmas tree too. It's really big..." he said, still in awe with the whole thing.

The girl laughed lightly. "Christmas is fun." she agreed, "And yes. It's even more impressive seeing it from up high. It's super scary." she explained with a nod. "At least from down here, you don't have to see how tiny the people look from way up there."

Bovi looked at the teen for a moment. She had big wings, so she could probably fly, therefore have the chance to see the tree from high up. His wings were awkwardly placed, so unless he could learn to fly upside down, there would be no real getting off the ground. He really didn't mind though. He was fine with how he was.

"I dunno," he said thoughtfully. "I think it would be neat to see people look all tiny. It'd be a nice change of scenery anyway," he mused. Making people seem smaller just appealed to him though. He had no real idea why.

"Well there's a way to do it. There's a ramp over there that if we go up, we can overlook the whole thing from the top floor." the teen pointed over a ways to the ramp. It usually was just a way for some people to get between floors. "I'm Ebby. What's your name?"
PostPosted: Tue Nov 24, 2009 7:02 pm

"Ohhh...." Bovi said as he stared at the ramp. He hadn't noticed it before. He looked over to Ebby and smiled.

"I'm Bovi. It's nice to meet you Miss Ebby," he said with a laugh before beggining to trot over to the ramp that had just been pointed out to him.

"Are you sure you should be going up alone?" Ebby inquired, following after Bovi nervously. He was a bit young to be here by himself wasn't he? "Aren't your parents coming back for you?" she asked.

The teen walked with him up the ramp so he wasn't by himself on there - he could get hurt if he fell. "We can go up, but we have to go back down soon after so no one thinks you got lost or worse."

"Mama Stace said to stay near the tree. I'll still be near it, just higher up," Bovi stated matter-o-factly, then pondered for a moment.

"Besides...she just left for shopping, and it looks super busy, so I have plenty of time to get back down," he said with a laugh. "Thanks for coming with me though. It'll be more fun with someone to talk to."

Ebony snorted. Kid had a point at the very least. Idly, she noticed something about him. He had hooves didn't he? At first she'd thought it was just cloppy shoes but now she was getting a better look. And was reminded of a friend of her's with cloppy hooves very much like those.

"Say, Bovi, where do you come from?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 28, 2009 8:52 am

Bovi turned his head around for a moment to look at her, though still continuing his asent up the ramp.

"Umm..." he said, turning his head back around to allow himself to think, at least more comfortably. "My house is on Aspen Lane, on the outside of a housing complex...I think it's called Willow Lake or somethin'..."

The girl snorted. "That's not what I meant silly. Were you born there or did your Mama get you from somewhere?" she inquired. "You look like someone I know from Seven of Seven."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 13, 2009 1:52 pm

"Oh!" Bovi exclaimed. So that's what she meant. He smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, I'm from Seven of Seven. Mama-Stacie didn't go get me though...Apparently they left me on her doorstep..." A hoof scrapped across the ground in a somewhat sad manner. It was always sad when he thought about how he got to his mother, though honestly he would have chose no other to raise him. He perked up again as he peered over the ledge to see the tree from high up.

"Wooooow," he cooed, his eyes wide in awe.

The pink haired girl leaned over to hug him before smiling. "Don't worry, you're better off left with your Mama than there. Almost anywhere's better than there to live." She stated, looking down at the tree through her thick lashes. "It's really nice, huh? I've been watching as they put it all up. They haven't even gotten up all of the baubles or garland yet."
