Demon x _ Slayer x _ Do you guys like playing on the stage or just fooling around on the feild and/or band room? I'd advise you to not fool around if you stick to playing in high school band because we're totally serious and you would be considered mediocre if you were to treat band as a game or after school activity. The pit always thinks it's about fun and games all the time so I had to just about be their enemy during marching season because they weren't serious and fooled around a lot. Now during concert season they won't even play unless our band director forces them to since I'm playing bari sax and not back there to assign their parts. It's sad.

I hate playing the mallet parts. Oh wait, I just remembered something. When we got our music handed out again (We're doing our second concert on Mar. 15) It said we played the oboe so the other to mallet players for that song and I all laughed, and I said. "Cause we totally play the oboe right?" I love just fooling around with the other percussionists, because we're all just so fun loving. And our band teacher rarely pays any attention to us because most of us aren't playing the wrong notes, it's all the horns.

Well, our middle school band kinda unstructured. We all are still getting used to our instruments. There is a lot of goofing around and stuff. There are some really serious people and some not so serious ones. You can really tell who's going into marching band when we get to high school, which will have the same bd. It is still a barrel of monkeys.

im in 8th and the ms band only has 4 percussionist, so when we r in band room, we screw around alll the time, and when i help out marching band in pit, its fun on the feild too surprised eek

marching bands awesome. i'm 100% snare! though rite now my snares got no head, so i gotta w8 2 get a new 1, it sucks

I remember that my percussion during 8th grade was absolutely terrible. All the percussionists did was fool around, try and stab people with their sticks, and constantly NEVER. KEEP. A BEAT.
And they refused to count out loud, too, so it screws up the entire band.
HEY COCKY DRUMMERS (only to the bad ones):
I KNOW IT'S LAME, BUT COUNT OUTLOUD. You guys have an important job: you keep our beat and play cadence during marching to stop us/etc. I need a strong percussion/drumline, not crap.

When I was in percussion in middle school, I was 25% Snare, 75% mallets! Mallets was really fun for me, cuz I rocked it while (i'm the only girl) the boys were just like "I WANNA HIT STUFF" being sarcastic lolz so they would just take the drums, while I got left the mallets. Then I liked it lolz. The guys in percussion are immature but fun-loving. But we're serious when it gets to music, we all have a passion for it. Come to think of it, we just did out concert tonight. We played Supercalifragulisticexpyalladocious (dang i hate that word XD) and we played a thing called Tubz on chairs. Look up on YouTube; it's AMAZING AND RIDICULOUSLY FUN! Then we played Sailor's Holiday (lame) but still, awesome! EVERYONE THAT'S NOT IN BAND OR HATES THEIR INSTRUMENT, JOIN PERCUSSION! WE ROCK! lolz had to do that

That is pretty sad. bein in pit is about fun, but not all the time. gotta be serious and fun at the appropriate times. but as a pit member, you wanna be able to show off your skills and entertain the crowd.
