It was a nonsensical tune, almost. Almost. Except for the fact that behind the notes there was true skill, deft fingers and accurate breaths spurring out a delicate tune from deep within the tiny-framed Barren Pines student. It wasn't often that Piper was found sitting completely still with closed eyes and a face as close to serene as humanly possible for her. Yet, here she was, the picture of perfect posture as she sat on a bench on school grounds, doing just that.

Her made up tune trailed off into the air, ending on a gentle note as she lay her flute across her lap. Her bright blue eyes stared off at the sky above her, trailing across the clouds that filled the sky. There wasn't much to do today, so she'd taken her flute and come to the grounds, especially after she realized she'd had so little time to just play for herself lately. She'd been spending so much time with all of her new friends and taking care of Princess Sir Cuddlesworth Regulus Archibald Nancy the VI that she had lost track of her alone time. Not that she minded all of the time, really, but she didn't want to end up like her plant - wilting and sad.

Now that she'd spent some hard earned time playing her flute though, her spirits were lifted, and there was a pleasant smile on her face to accompany that almost absent-minded happiness in her eyes. She pushed herself to her feet as she began to hum the tune she'd just been playing, twirling and skipping as she made her way back towards the school, as if she were imagining herself in a ballroom. Her flute was gripped tightly in her hand so that it didn't get lost, but her eyes were half-closed, which meant she was aware of very little going on around her. Typical Piper.
