An Unknown force Pushes the four contestants into their next round against their will.
Jaeger and Remy looked at each other as they walked towards the mouth of the cave. They were going to grab this treasure before anyone else could. They were skilled.
Katherine and Matt entered the cave from the other side to do the same.
But they didn't realize that the other team were the only things to worry about.
The traps were set.

Kate removed her fedora and mopped the sweat off her brow with a linen handkerchief long since stained a dingy shade of sepia, staring into the mouth of the cave. Behind her miles of untamed jungle swept out as far as the eye could see, but for Kate there was so much more behind her than what the naked eye could perceive.
She'd waited for this moment her whole life, ever since she first guided her buxom heroine Lara Croft through crypts and tombs the world over at age twelve, Kate knew this was the life for her. It had been a long and arduous journey, the long sleepless nights studying until dawn at Harvard for her masters in archeology, the weeks of sitting on the couch watching her L Word DVDs recovering from her breast enhancement surgery, basic training at Fort Bragg, but Kate had endured all that and much more to stand at the mouth of this cave.
It wasn't a mouth though, Kate thought with a wry smile. It was something much more inviting, more feminine. This was to be Kate's birth, her passage from Harvard graduate ex delta force specialist into rock star treasure hunter drowning in babes.
She smiled and slapped Matt on the back.
"Onwards, to glory."

*Matt removed his own hat for a moment . . . an old Army Kevlar helmet, and mopped tyhe sweat off his brow. He hadn't gotten into this game for fame or for riches, and it wasn't because he'd watched too much Indiana Jones or played Tomb Raider. He was under the (clearly mistaken) belief that there was nothing advenrturous about Archaeology. And niow? Well, now it looked like he was about to be proved dead wrong.*
*He pulled a map and jjournal out of his pocket and opened both of them.* Well. As best as I can tell, the traps separating us from the mummy are complex and varied. I just hope my research will pay off.
*He read a few passages, and then put the items away, and started feeling the ground ahead of himself with his walking stick.*
Be careful where you step here. One wrong move . . . *Suddenly a blowdart burst from the wwall and buried itself into Matt's stick.*

Remy heard the voices from the interior of the caves' walls, the mere whispers of the opposing treasure hunters becoming more audible once they came off of the slick, rock walls that surrounded him as well as his partner.
"We've got us some company mon ami." Remy whispered, nudging Jaeger in the arm. He promptly began to slide the ankle-length trench coatt from his slim, toned form, setting it down on the cave floor. "Won't be needin' dis if we gonna have it out wit a few poachers."
He looked to Jaeger. "Lemme have a look see first."
The thief known as 'Gambit' started forward when a rock he stepped on sunk into the solid floor and instinctively, he backflipped out of the way as two opposing sides of the stone walls crashed into one another, right where he had just been standing.
"Psht! Child's play!"

*Matt groaaaaaned to himself as he heard the echoes of Gambit’s voice. If there was one thing that made his job harder than his hyperactive partner, it was meeting up with the Wyld Boyz. They were dangerous rogues and treasure hunters. They were more suited to Dr. Kane’s approach, and had beaten her and Matt to more than a couple of punches.*
*Sighing and resting his hand on the Walther PPK he’d bought PURELY for self-defense, he stepped up his tapping of tiles until finally he successfully crossed the floor. He paused to remove any darts from his walking stick. Then he lit a flare, and threw it deeper into the cave to give himself some light.*

What the hell?
::Shifts into Character::
Dinah looked over at Matt and looked at this gun. "I really hope you brought that for self-defense." She said. She didn't like the idea of having a gun with them but she knew what the Wyld boyz were capable of.
She turned a corner and pushed Matt back a bit.
"...They're right there." She said softly.

Jaeger watched his partner disappear into the darkness and counted to 100. Then, clutching his tools of the trade (crowbar, pack of dynamite, lock picks and a good old fashioned length of rope), he followed him down into the cave.
The walls of the cavern echoed the soft 's' sound that people who whisper often forget carries so well. Jaeger clutched his crowbar tighter.
"Rem."
Jaeger met up with his partner and put a hand on his shoulder. It was dark, but the flashlight in Jaeger's hands lit them both up. He motioned towards one branch in the cavern and held up two fingers.
Two of them. Just inside of that branch. Jaeger waited for Remy to give the signal.

Remy glanced back over his shoulder and gave his partner a coy wink, holding a forefinger to his lips, the universal signal for 'shadding yer yap.' He gave a thumbs up, having successully interpreted the message.
He gave a nod of the head, indicating a tunnel that was so well hidden within the darkness, that the untrained eye would never have noticed it. Remy, however, was more than a simple treasure hunter. He was a master Thief and had been trained or this way of life since he was a pup.
Reaching down, Remy scooped up a small stone into his hand and his ability to charge anything with kinetic energy surged power into the rock amd he rolled it into the tunnel where their rival hunters were.
Quickly he turned his head and gave a curt nod and darted forth into the hidden access!

This was why Jaeger didn't mind having a partner these days...a guy who can blow up things can come in pretty handy. Why did he bring the dynamite with him again?
Oh yeah...prep time. A Finder's best friend. Jaeger was trying to use a little more of that these days, and a little less flybytheseatofyourpants time.
Jaeger followed his partner into the dark recess and waited for the inevitable boom. As he wedged himself in, his hand brushed an outcropping, which gave him pause. Jaeger nudged his partner and shined the flashlight on the outcropping.
It was a carving of a hand, thrust forward in handshake position.
So there was only one question, that both Jaeger and Remy knew they'd have to answer.
Secret passageway?.....or trap?

"Oh what the hell? I didn' get dis ar by bein' cautious!" Remy quipped quietly. He reached forward and grasped the rocky lever, and gripped it tightly. Suddenly a 'thunk' sounded rom above and both men looked upward.
A large boulder dropped rom up above and began rolling down toward them!
"Oh if that isn't cliche'!" And he grabbed Jaeger by the arm and took off!

"Oh you have got to be kidding me!"
-Was all that Jaeger managed to get out of his mouth before Remy grabbed him and yanked him out of the passageway, boulder in tow. For the briefest of seconds, he turned and looked at the passage the "competition" was in....they were awful close to it...
"Rem, just how long was that time bomb of yours going to tick?"

"Long enough!" And he kept the grip on Jaeger's arm tight and secure and sprang into the competition's tunnel and yoinked Jaeger right past them with just a...
"Scuse us! Coming thru!"
With the boulder still crashing down the path toward them, and now the competition as well!

"There!"
Jaeger took a flying leap and grabbed onto an outcropping that resembled the outstretched hand that had released the boulder. Grabbing and pulling hard, the hand loosened and came forward from the stone wall.
Behind him, a grinding sound nearly deafened everyone in the cavern as a pair of ramps came out of the walls...causing the boulder to roll right up above the heads of Remy, Dinah and Matt. A large "CRUNCH" was heard as the boulder came to rest on it's new pedestal. The stone hand moved back into it's original position on the wall.
"Er....Hello!"
Jaeger gave Dinah and Matt a quick bow before ducking for cover as Remy's explosion went off!
*BOOM!*

Remy slowly rose from his crouched position and looked at his partner wide-eyed. He said, "Whew! Now dat was quick thinkin' mon ami! I don't need to become a Cajun souffle' right before we strike it big!"
A knuckle rap between partners let everything else unspoken between friends when Remy calmly reached into his trench and took out a playing card. Charging it, he gave it a toss toward the roof of the cavern back in the tunnel between them and their rivals.
The card hit and the small explosion brought down some rubble, enough to divert Dinah and Matt for the moment.
"C'mon!" He said and took off down the tunnel. They came through a large opening and found theselves in a huge, ancient cathedral of sorts. Everywhere they looked, there were random treasures! And standing at the foreront of the ancient temple, reaching to the ceiling itself high above, stood two stone statues that began to move...
"Crap..."
