Figured I should put some stuff up about myself.
taking art 1 at school, and very bored... taking classes for black&white still life elsewhere. I self-studying wish I had time to study anatomy at the moment... Hmm...don't know what else I should add here.

Sorry, hun, but improved anatomy is going to be the biggest help; it doesn't look like you actually know what people look like, so the chibi is deformed beyond acceptable chibi deformations. You need to know the rules before you break them.
You're also going to want to study how light and shadow work, because your picture is more or less shaded randomly throughout.

The art is actually very nice and I like it! The problem I just see is the arm length and some anatomy-related-again stuffs... But as ann overall, very nicely done indeed! blaugh

My best advice for you right now is references. Look at a picture of someone making a similar pose and if you can't find one look in the mirror and do it yourself. Also, look at your body there are no perfect points on it everything is curved. So, at her knees the calf should blend into the thigh the same at the ankles and pelvis. Also there are proportions to the body. Also the head should be about one third of the shoulder span. Also, for the size of the hands, they should be big enough to cover the entire face, so basically from chin to eyebrows. That should help you in proportions a little. That's all the advice I can give you other than practice makes perfect. Just keep practicing and you will get better at anatomy. I can't really see how you are at shading, coloring, or clothing from that picture.

dang thats alot eek haha i tried doing it in the mirror myself but I guess that didn't work out too well =P I tried looking at some guides and it said the shoulders were 2x the width of the head....so idk. yea the main focus was on anatomy anyways ;D
