It was nightfall, and quiet. Chaos was angry at the world for inexplicable reasons. He was dissatisfied with his life, but he didn't know what was wrong. How to change it. Make it easier. He felt as if he was forced to live this miserable existance, just for the amusement of those around him. This must be his twin's doing. It must be. They were born to clash, but whenever anything was wrong, Chaos always blamed it on Justice.

Slipping into a quiet area, he was hoping that it might undo how he felt. It was certainly not how he normally acted, but he was worried that he might lose himself again. And every time, it grew worse and worse once he gained control. He didn't want to succumb to it, at least, not yet. The next time he did, he might never come back.

Fading his wings, so he merely looked like a blood-red lion, he flopped underneath a pretty pitiful looking tree, glancing up at the stars above. Some quiet might help the nerves, or maybe make it worse. Never knew unless you tried.

She was glad that her disguise had worked so far and that none of the others in the pride seemed to recognize her. A few had remarked on her coloration but that was something she couldn't hide so easily ... a least if she didn't want to make herself feel bad for hiding so well. She just couldn't bring herself to lie -that- much.

Thankfully since she was a bit on the large side the other females had not forbidden her from wandering, at least not yet. She wasn't heavy enough with child that a bit of exercise would hurt either her or them so she found herself wandering around near the edges of the pride.

She had expected to see a large red lion laying around so ... blatantly... in the pride's territory. She paused a bit away from the preoccupied lion before clearing her throat.

Dath probably wouldn't have heard anything, but the fact that there was a distinct 'ahem' around him was something that he probably shouldn't ignore. If he wanted to play the rogue mortal lion, he was going to have to be a little more accommodating than he normally would be.

He raised his head, though the grumpy look still displayed itself across his face. "What?" he asked blatantly, not figuring he was in on someone's lands. The whole idea of it was absurd to him, but he wasn't in the mood to go looking for a fight. Not that a female could beat him (Sei excluded) anyway.

"Got a problem?" he asked, feeling a creeping sensation within his body. s**t, he needed to watch himself a little more, or he was going to lose it pretty easily. So much for some peace and quiet.

She just barely managed not to wince at his questions. He was on the strong looking side and she didn't really have any desire to get into a fight with someone. She knew she wasn't good at it and didn't know how fast the others in the pride would hear her cries for help if it happened.

"... you are in pridal territory and they're not exactaly the most, open, pride." She tilted her head slightly. "You seem familiar ...."

He narrowed his eyes at her, just wondering how he was familiar. He certainly didn't recognize this female, and he was pretty good at taking notice of the girls he had harassed, one way or another. And she wasn't bad looking, he'd definitely remember her.

Tempting, tempting. It was too tempting to flash open his wings, but something told him not too. He looked at her again, as in taking a second look at her. Still nothing, really. Odd, what was that premonition? He shrugged his shoulders, probably mildly confusing the other for a moment.

"I may be, but there's no one here that I'm bothering. I'll be gone before morning, anyway." And as his scent would just disappear, they wouldn't be able to follow him anyway. He grinned slightly at that, just imagining their faces if they wanted to try and follow him. Good luck with no wings!

"Unless you wanted this certain comfortable reclining area that I'm currently occupying," he asked with a wry smile.

Her head tilted again as she looked at him. She knew she'd never -seen- a lion like this before, she'd remember one colored so, but she could still feel that she had met him. Ah well. Perhaps it was just some faded memory that had no meaning.

"Not as of yet .. but the patrol will come by soon." And while they would not be unkind they weren't exactaly overly friendly to those with hostile attitudes.

"I was just passing. I wished some time to myself." She was starting to feel fat and wanted some peace before none of the other females would let her have any, even if Auri was sweet about it.

"Patrol? Y'mean, someone actually bothers to watch the land that they claim?" Pfft. Wow. Well, that was a first for him. Sure, he knew that some prides would peek around their borders, but a real patrol was different. He raised his head slightly, sniffing. Well. He wasn't going to give up his spot just for some patrol.

"I'll deal with them when they come. It's not like it's their place to claim Earth's self," he said with a snort, scowling. Really, if he was Earth, things would be muuuuch different on these lands, especially to the disrespect they offered her. So weak, these gods were.

"Yes. They're very serious about it." She thought everyone in the are knew. The other prides at least knew to stay out of the Mzawa's territory. "They lost some of their number so the patrols are not as good as they once were but they will be by."

She shook her head. "They can claim this little bit though. It is their home. Earth or no earth everyone has a right to defend their home."

He growled. "There is no claiming what was never yours." He said it so softly, though, he assumed that she wouldn't hear it. He swished his tail in the grass, hoping to mask what he had said as well; he didn't need to start debating with a freakin' mortal. Wasn't worth it, they'd never understand his point of view on the subject. Which was just fine, they would die soon enough anyway.

He smirked as she mentioned a slimming of the patrols. So it could be a while before they showed up. And who knows if they'd even notice him. He could lay low for a while, or the simple part of the manner, go invisible. Mask himself.

He wasn't sure what to say with her comment, though. He didn't understand what was so harmful about him lying here. And he was being honest for once. Was it so damn hard to get some peace and quiet once in a while?

"Fine, fine, your grumpy people can have their miserable land to themselves," he grumbled.

"They have every right to what was given to them." She snapped and then regretted it. He looked like the sort who would be ... violent when angry. "It is their home by right. They are allowed to defend it how they wish." She knew it was theirs. She had given them to it. She had lead them to the area where they could easily guard themselves and have plenty of prey.

"I was just warning you. If you wanted your peace it is easier found where you will not be disturbed, yes? Luckier in a way..."

"I wasn't disturbed until you decided to do so," he said, tired of playing this game. He abandoned his spot, springing onto his feet. He took his time to stretch, having the distinct feeling that this lioness couldn't do anything. If she kept threatening the patrol on him, then she was too weak to do anything herself.

As he had been stretching, he had let his wings faze back to a more viewable state. The dark sky had most likely blocked out much of their bulk, but that was quickly remedied as he stretched them out, giving them a few good flaps.

"Well, you can just as easily tell your people that Chaos disagrees."

Her eyes widened slightly before the realization dawned on her. "Dath?!" What was he doing this far out. "oh no ... no no no .... you are not allowed to mess up their home. They are just starting to rebuild and they don't need you around bothering things. They have enough trouble"

She had just given it back to them and he couldn't come around ... mucking things up again. What little anger she had caused her illusion to shift. The spots slowly turned back to scales and leather wings rustled against her sides.

"I remember you. That's why you felt familiar."

He snarled. "Oh, now I remember you. Think you're going to try and play with my luck, are you?" Blasted woman, all women. Always screwing everything up. All he wanted was a moment alone, and he just had to pick her. Fate really wasn't playing a fair game with him lately.

"At least I don't bother to hide myself as much as you do," he snorted, glancing at her scales. They looked nothing like the spots her mortal illusion had led him to see. She must have thought him familiar as he only ever bothered to hide his wings when he wanted to be left alone; being completely invisible was never any fun. And besides, it was usually the wings and necklace that gave him away.

"I had nor have any intention of messing with your luck. You do enough messing with it yourself i'm sure. I just want you to leave them alone, please." They were the only family she had and she didn't want to loose them because -he- was having a pissy moment.

"I ... do not want them to busy themselves worshiping me. I want them to have normal lives. I just ..." She had just needed somewhere safe to have her cubs.

He smirked. That moment where her voice trailed off, he considered that a moment of weakness. Pitiful, really, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

"Fine, fiiiine. If you must sit there and cry over it, I'll merely leave. You should best be careful how you handle certain rogues, though; I'm certain they wouldn't leave as easily as I'm willing to tonight."

His tail lashed behind him, a hidden urge to do some sort of harm. But...not tonight. Maybe later, if he even bothered to remember.

"Count your blessings, witch," he said, expressing his distaste for her before spreading his wings. "And keep playing with your own luck." He turned as if to take off, but instead he merely let himself fade into an illusion of black fire, laughing as he abandoned the area. He'd go someplace else then. Not that any place wanted him.
