There was a sigh from the teen standing in front of a store, booted foot scuffing against the ground in boredom. Always was babysitting or getting dragged around on errands. So while Subo was in the shops (on business related issues, but still), Lind was stuck waiting. And waiting. And waiting. And then carrying bags around. That was always fun.
Sometimes he wished he was working.
And then he remembered the s**t that happened the night before and quickly amended that thought. Well. Not working at that job, at least. Cars don't talk back and tell you that you're doing your job incorrectly and then don't tip you.
Or try and get into a fight. Customer service sucks at times.

There was a sudden squeal of excitement from the chocolate store three doors down followed by a loud bellow of outrage. Epsilon came tearing out of the the shop first, a giant slab of wrapped chocolate in his hands and his striped scarf trailing behind him like a cape. He laughed gaily at the redhead who tore after him.
"I swear to god Epsilon if you drop that chocolate!" The patisserie left the threat hanging as he ran after the teen, face nearly purple. Sometimes he had to wonder if the teen did this on purpose!
The last to emerge from the chocolate shop was Jin Tian. He was the same as usual, minus his horns. Eppi had convince him that it would be much easier to move about without them around. Having no attachment to the things, Tian gladly chucked them.
The Herald followed Epsilon and Forney at a more sedate pace. He gave a startled jump when there was another shout of dismay. Epsilon had run headlong into a male standing in front of one of the shops.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Eppi apologized profusely, the chocolate slab in ruins on the concrete as he hoped the person he had knocked into was okay. Needless to say Forney was furious at the sight of the chocolate, and even more so at the person who had been the cause of it. How could he forget a face like that?
"Don't worry about him." Forney said snidely. "He's used to being run over by people." The scene from the kitchens not that long ago still in his mind.

Goooood damnit. Not again. He stumbled a bit sideways, though it wasn't quite as bad as earlier, seeing as the person wasn't as big as the...oh. Him.
"Um...It's alright," he mumbled, shoving his hair out of his face and behind his ear. Though in the back of his mind there was the constant litany of d**k, d**k, d**k, d**k, d**k. More directed at the person behind him than Eppi. Aaw, couldn't forget his face? How sweet of him.
"Least I'm not the one who runs people over," he retorted, voice falsely happy sounding. He gave Forney a rather irritating grin before waving to Jin Tian, shoving his other hand in his pocket.
Oooh, work, why couldn't he be at work?

"I didn't run into you. Epsilon did." Forney sniffed at the irritaing person in front of him. He looked down at the shattered chocolate, as if he had suddenly remembered it. "You're DEAD!" He shouted out Eppi, making a grab for the teen. Epsilon squeaked in terror, rushing to hide behind Lind as he waited for Tian to save him.
The Herald had returned the wave to Lind, happy to see the male. He quickened his step though once Forney went into monster mode. "Leave him alone." Tian told Forney evenly walking up to the group. "How are you doing Lind. I trust you are doing well?"
Forney ignored this pleasantry, continuing to b***h about the chocolate. "Then go back to the store and get another piece." Epsilon replied helpfully voice sweet with no hint of animosity.

"Yes, but he apologized." d**k, d**k, d**k dickdickdick. Which, you know, nice people tend to do when they run into someone. On several occasions in a certain person's case. Well. Kinda. More like having made things and people run into him. But still.
"Good enough," he replied with a shrug, not really making a comment about being used as a meat shield. The whining, however, was not overlooked. "My god, if he's getting his panties in such a twist over it, I'll buy you another piece of frekain' chocolate." Seriously, though, he was throwing a temper tantrum over chocolate? That was just...
...well, actually he found it kind of hilarious, but we won't be mentioning that.

Forney instantly perked up. "Really?" He asked hopefully, actually smiling a little at Lind. Lind had unintentionally stepped on Forney's happy button. Whenever someone offered to fix the redhead's problems, whatever it was, he was all rainbows and sunshine until the next issue...which was never too far away.
Jin Tian just sighed at all of this. "Well then, if you are willing to buy the monster his chocolate then please allow me to accompany you." The Herald looked over to Eppi who was grinning now. "Eppi, please stay with Forney and make sure he does not get lost." The teen nodded, stepping out from behind Lind, and the redhead didn't even whine at Tian's comment, too pleased to be getting another slab of chocolate.
"Is the agreeable to everyone?" Tian added, always the peacemaker in tense situations. However, he had no intention of making Lind buy the chocolate. He'd do so himself and just lie about who'd actually done the buying.

Oddly enough, the smile didn't do anything to reassure him of the sudden change in attitude. If anything else, it made him slightly more wary.
God, this guy is crazy.
Well, at least someone around here was good at being the peacemaker. Sure as hell wasn't going to be any if he wasn't there to do it. "Hey, if you want." And bah, if he couldn't stay in the same place without being lost, that was his problem. Shouldn't need a babysitter that was younger than him.
"Let's goooo, then," and with that, he pivoted on his heel and made his way down the sidewalk to the candy store. Though after a few steps he turned around so he was looking at Jin Tian, though he was walking backwards in the process of doing so. "So, has he always been such a d**k?" The question was asked even though they were possibly still within earshot of the person in question.
Actually, that's probably why he did it. Gotta enjoy the small things.

Jin Tian covered his mouth in a delicate gesture to hide his laughter as Lind's comment. Goodness knew that Forney was straining against Epsilon, wanting to get to Ling. Tian didn't turn around to look though, not wanting to see the redhead's face.
"Yes, I think so." Tian replied. "He was with my guardian's uncle for a rather long time. I think it messed with his brain." The Herald had another smile as he reached for the door to the shop, holding it open for Lind. "After you." He said politely.

Seeing the look on Forney's just about made his day. Sometimes, you just had to do it. Because hey, he put up with this sort of stuff at work, can't expect him to just take it lying down when he wasn't and couldn't get fired, could you?
"Some uncle," he muttered, offering a grin and a thank you as he slid through the door. Ooh, how he missed the candy store. Hadn't been here in awhile, though some of his coworkers dropped by every once in awhile to pick up a bag of something cheap to give people a sugar rush when they were starting to sag.
But still. It was a store full of candy. What's not to love?

Tian smiled again as he followed Lind in. He Herald was smiling a lot more lately, not that he'd settled into the world that he had been thrown into.
"Let us hurry here before Forney has a conniption." Tian said with a chuckled, going straight to the cashier and order another large slab of dark chocolate. "Please, pick something else out for your self Lind." The Herald added. "I have a feeling that you shall be needing an apology for later if Forney continues with his silliness."

Good thing he was loosening up a bit, at least. Never too good to be too serious all the time.
"What, he hasn't had one already?"he asked with a snort. Or...several. Or a brain aneurysm. Or something. Maybe his head will explode. That would be exciting. "Nah, it's alright." Honestly, watching his reactions was hilarious enough. "My teeth don't need any more rotting."

"I highly doubt that they are rotting, but if you are sure." Tian gave an elegant shrug, reaching into his pocket and paying for the chocolate. No jewels this time but just regular cash. Chocolate now in hand, the Herald headed back to the door. "And trust me, you will know what Forney has had a conniption. People generally get bruises when he has."
Frowning at what those words brought to mind, Jin Tian opened the door again to let Lind precede him again.

It would have been interesting to see them try and make change from a jewel, though. "One of these days someone isn't going to put up with his s**t, though,"Which would be interesting to see. Probably not as fun if you were involved though.
There was another grin and a rather over exaggerated bow as the door was held open for him again, and he was yet again faced with the wonderful visage of Forney, who wasn't seeming quite as cheery anymore.
So of course he got the most obnoxious grin he could muster.

Needless to say, when he saw that idiot Lind approaching, he wanted to rip that smile off the bastards face. "You better have gotten the right one. I can't work with semi-sweet." He snapped at Jin Tian. "And what are you smiling for?" He demanded of Lind. He had no illusions now that Lind had actually bought the chocolate, the male being to much of a jerk for that. Beside the redhead, Eppi rolled his eyes, but remained silent not wanting to fight.
"I have gotten you the correct one Forney." Jin Tian replied patiently, handing the chocolate over. To Lind he said, "In response to your earlier comment, I have a feeling it shall be me." The words were wry but he had a feeling that they were true.
Trying to help calm the tense Forney, Epsilon piped up, "All better!" He smiled, trying to soothe the tension filled atmosphere. Lilac eyes settled on Lind for a moment. "Lind, right? Are you here by yourself? It seemed like you were waiting for someone before I mauled you." The teen giggled at that, still smiling serenely.

"What, I have to give you a reason for having emotions?" And hey, there was a reason he was being a jerk to him. Sometimes it was the only answer to a situation.
Actually, he was just being spiteful. But that's a reason too, right?
"Oh, you never know," he said, stuffing his hands in his back pockets and rocking back on his heels. "Oh, yeah, getting dragged around on errands," he responded, jerking his head at the store they were in front of by means of explanation.
