It was early in the day, Lorcan had just gotten a great morning cleaning from his mother. He was often dirty, it was just how he played, rough and tough. It was great fun that way, he was young and insane it was the best time of life.
He galloped his way through the fields of the pack, and down towards the small lake. He was unsure of what he wanted to do today, but he was fairly certain that he would be able to find someone around the lake, maybe someone to play with. Kya had been lounging down by the lake since the sun had come up. It was a great sunrise, colorful and dazzling. Kya stood and stretched, wondering what todays day would bring about.... perhaps she could find a small creature to hunt and bring home to her mom. Mom liked it when Kya brought presents home.
She turned and moved down towards the lake, only getting her toes wet, she was quite young and didn't know how to swim yet but loved how the water felt moving over her toes, she giggled to her self, and moved back towards the beach, when he moved she saw the young male wild dog walking towards the lake. She wagged her tail excited.

Lorcan spotted the female wild dog, and smiled. It was a pup that he recognized one that lived in the area. She was born around the same time he was. He wagged his tail to show his friendliness towards her. Something about social interactions in him, came easily and smoothly.
"Hello." Lorcan greeted, the physical aspects of social interaction seemed to come easily to him, but at the same time, it was a little difficult for him to vocalize the same things. "My name is Lorcan." he told her.
Kya smiled having no problem interacting with others, she might be a bit rough around the edges, but in there somewhere she was a gem. "Hello" she chirped. He voice was very high, she blamed it on her age, hoping that when she got older her voice would drop somewhat, but in the mean time she tried not to let it bother her too much.
"My name is Kya, well actually it is Kay'Inna, but I don't like that last part much, so just call me Kya." she told him. Excited that this perhaps could be her very first friend. Up until now she had just interacted with family members her brothers, sisters and parents.

Lorcan stared at the other pup, totally overcome with how well she was talking. She wasn't nervous at all how could this be? He tried to listen and formulate an answer in his head as she went, something to say, anything to say something that would preferably not make him look foolish.
The other dog stop talking and he sat there, he had frozen, what to say now, what was she going to think of him, he clearly was wrecking any chance he had of making a good friend here. He opened his mouth and a burp slipped out, mortified he shut his mouth again quickly. He sat there looking at Kya debating running away, what an awful experience this was turning out to be, he thought to himself.
Kya sat looking at the other wild dog wondering why he was just sitting there, why hadn't he said anything. It was a little strange to her she though, but at the same time, it wasn't like she was going to judge him, maybe he was still learning his words. She sat waiting a smile on her face, wondering if perhaps he needed a little encouragement to get going.
Before she had a chance to say anything though the other pup opened his mouth and let out a large burp, Kya couln't help but giggle. For a girl she was rather boyish. She thought those bodily functions were quite amusing so when Lorcan let out the burp, she knew it was a perfect friendship match.
"Well I bet you feel better now." she giggled. She wasn't bothered in the slightest about the whole thing, and it didn't even occur to her that perhaps the other dog would be embarrassed about what just happened.

Lorcan sighed a smile actually appearing on his face. It was relieving to have the young girl tell him it was all OK. He tried to let the whole experience roll off his back. He took in a deep breath, getting ready to start a conversation, hopefully this time minus an embarrassing bodily function.
Taking one more deep breath, he found his voice, "So Kya, uuh how many brothers and sisters do you have?" it wasn't quite what he was going for when he thought of starting this great conversation with her, but it was something, somewhere to start.
Kya chuckled, it was strange watching him have to try so hard at this whole social interaction, she didn't understand it, but perhaps she had an easier time talking because in her den if you wanted to be heard you had to shout, it was the result of coming from a litter of 13.
"I have 12 brothers and sisters. Five brothers and Seven sisters, its a very crowded den we live in." she was smiling ear to ear while she talked about her family. She loved them quite a bit really, it was a strange feeling she thought, love... she was still trying to wrap her head around it.
"How about you Lorcan do you come from a large family?" she asked partially because she was curious and partially because he had asked first, and it just seemed to polite exchange to ask.

Lorcan smiled he was happy that Kya was willing to ignore his lack of social graces, it was the way that he was happy that he had found someone that understood him.
"I have two siblings, one brother one sister." his family might be small but he felt that it was perfect he had one of everything... he had no idea how complicated his life may one day get. "Its a small family, but a family none the less." he told Kya.
Kya nodded listening, "That is a small family" Kya said, "It would be strange, your den must be so quiet." Kya thought about her own den again, the night before there was cubs running around her mother trying to settle and bath everyone, it was insanity, and Kya loved it.
"Well I don't know how you do it. I would go crazy if I didn't have so many siblings." she laughed. She was understanding now why Lorcan might be so quiet, he never had to run around and talk so much be loud to get noticed, it was crazy how different the two were.

Lorcan smiled and nodded, "I am glad that I have quiet, I like quiet." he told Kya. Lorcan was simplistic in his way he was. He liked quiet, and peaceful. Though he found Kya charming, it was nice to have someone different around, he hoped that perhaps she would be able to leave a mark on him, let some of her charisma ware of on him.
"I am glad that I met you Kya." he told her, it was a rare moment of honest for him, letting him out of his shell about.
"I am glad I met you too Lorcan." she smiled. She skipped around the beach by him. She looked around and thought she could hear her mother calling for her, "I am sorry Lorcan but I need to leave mother calls." she told him, nudging her head in the direction of her den.
"Locran." she said turning to look at him, "I am glad that we met, and we will be friends forever ok." she smiled and skipped away before giving him a chance to answer one way or another. It wouldn't matter what his answer was either way, she would insist upon their friendship.

Lorcan watched the girl skip away, it was strange, she had left him wondering more about others. He had liked that she had insisted upon their friendship, he wouldn't have been so bold, but he wanted the friendship was something he was really looking forward to for the rest of their lives.
