Ank shook the morning dew from her coat then turned toward the den to bark at her sister.
"Come out!" she squealed wagging her tail enthusiastically. "Come on, Niddy!" she bounced back and forth. "Come out and play!"
Aunt Anansi had disappeared, as she often did, earlier that morning. Their mother was still home, but she was still resting. If they were lucky they might be able to explore a bit without the older Jackal hanging over their shoulder.
"Hurry!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Nthanda slowly followed her sister out, watching as she bounced around energetically. "Ank, you're so noisy!" she scolded, though she was grinning a bit. Her blue pelted sister's energy was rubbing off on her, and her own tail started to wag back and forth as she shifted her weight from side to side.
"What do you wanna play? We can't go very far, or Momma and Aunt Ana will get mad!" They could wander a little bit though~ As long as they didn't get caught, anyway.

"I wanna wrestle!" the grey pup said as she bounded in circles around her sister. "'Common," she barked and wiggled and nipped at her sister and bowed down before bounding forward to start the whole ritual over again.
"Niddy!Niddy!Niddy!Niddy!Niddy!"

"Shuuuuush! You're gonna make Momma mad!" she whispered loudly, nipping back at Ank. She gave her sister a wolfish grin and leaped at her, attempting to tackle her to the ground.

Ank looked back at the hole, wondering if mom would emerge, woken by the noise. It distracted her so that she didn't see her sister bound forward to tackle her.
She hit the ground hard but was laughing and squirming again not half a moment later. "Niddy!" she barked.

"Ank!" she barked in reply, laughing as she rolled over, pulling her sister along with her. "You're so easy! I can pin you with my eyes closed!"

"Nuh-uh!" she yipped, trying to kick her sister off with her hind legs. "You just got the jump on me! No fair!"
She squirmed and twisted, trying to get to her feet.

"Sure, sure~ Whatever you say, Sis!" She giggled as Ank pushed at her with her feet. "You know its true!"
She stayed flopped on her for a few moments, then leaped up and bolted away. "Catch me if you can!"

The little grey pup scrambled to her feet and bolted after her sister. Intent on proving her wrong... somehow.
"I'll get you! You'll be the one on your back next time, Niddy!!" she yipped as she scurried along.

Nthanda just laughed and leaped happily into the air. She didn't really care if Ank caught her, it was just fun to run around outside and play with her sister. Glancing over her shoulder, she grinned and then quickly darted around a large rock.

Thinking she'd one up her sister Ank scrambled up onto the top of the large rock and lay down, ears flat against her head. It was hot, but hopefully it wouldn't be long before her sister started to miss her and she could jump out for a big surprise.

After a few moments of hiding, Nthanda frowned and peeked her head back around. Where was Ank? She had expected her to run past, but she hadn't expect it to take this long for her sister to realize she was chasing nothing! And it was so quiet! Where did she go?
"Ank! Don't run too far, or Momma'll be mad!"

The pup suppressed a giggle and shifted to look down from the top of the rock. Her sister was right under her, it was perfect. Planning to pin her sister, carefully she moved to jump.

Not getting an answer, Nthanda started to look worried. "Momma is going to be mad..." she mumbled, oblivious to Ank's location above her.
