Tal chewed on the end of his braid, something he hadn't done since he was a child. The seraph was conflicted, on one hand his innate curiosity urged him to answer the strange summons, why did he keep getting mail that lead to children, and on the other logical told him not to jump into things he didn't understand, especially not when said thing was parenthood. The white haired man had really had no choice about bringing Zoe home and while he loved his daughter it had still been risky to add a new family member unexpectedly. To do so again without consulting Allen and Zoe would be inappropriate given that he did have a choice this time.
Tearing his eyes from the invitation Tal folded the crisp white paper and tucked it into the pocket of the faded blue jeans he was wearing that day. Still nibbling on the end of his hair thoughtfully the angel pivoted on one foot and walked out of the kitchen, headed for the living room where he was most likely to find the rest of his family.

Allen glanced up from where he'd been working on a stage model with Zoe. Noting how nervous his lover look, he stood, heading over to put an arm around him and bring him over to the couch where they sat. "What's wrong, Tal?"

Zoe was equally concerned but couldn't say anything other than what her one father already had. Watching her angelic parent carefully the girl curled up to make space on the couch, hugging her knees to her chest and hoping whatever made him chew on his it wasn't too serious. Was somebody hurt, was he running away with Tezza's mom, did he have some horrible sickness that came from nowhere like on last nights news story? The auburn haired girl wasn't prone the panic or hysterics but she was not used to seeing the braided man out of sorts like this. She could fluster him and he became agitated when his research results weren't what he expected them to be but Zoe never seen him look like this before. Glitter coated fingernails dug into the fabric of her pants as Zoe waited to see what was wrong.
" Nothing is wrong exactly," the angel assured his loved ones, braid falling rom his mouth as he spoke. Still, the milky white feathers on his back wings remained ruffled and both his head and ankle wings sets bobbed up and down or flicked back and forth betraying his nerves. This was hard subject to broach especially given that the letter had said he had limited time to make a decsion. He needed to approach this the right way without taking too long about it at the same time.
Taking another calming breath the former professor looked carefully at Allen and Zoe " I want to know how both of you feel about maybe adding another child to this family, and I want you to be honest." This was something he could not selfishly decide about on his own regardless of his own feelings on the matter. Never mind that if he did end up adopting a child he would also insist upon it recognizing Pyran as sibling as well. Just becuase his eldest child was grown with a family own his own did not make the other male any less family.
Zoe's eyes grew wide at her father's words. He wanted to know what she thought about a sibling ? " I dunno," she mumbled honestly. It'd be nice not to be the only kid in the house but at the same time, did she want to not be the only one? What if they got a baby and they never had time for her anymore or if it was a boy and then they'd like it more because of it's gender. Zoe knew she was loved by her parents but whether it would last or if she would still be loved enough was unknown and something inside her was well innately jaded even if it was rarely given reason to believe the worst. It was her turn to play with her hair winding strands of it around her fingers.

Allen laughed lightly, reaching out to pull them both close. "You two need to relax." he said calmly, hugging his daughter and petting Tal's headwings a tad to calm him.
The man hadn't really thought about more children in some time. He was rather content with the little family they had. However, he had always liked being a father, even if his own natural children had long ago been lost. "I'm not opposed to the idea. Though I think if we did get another, we should all have a say. Zoe'll need to know if she can get along with them, and we'll need to make sure there'll be no problems in us raising it."

The hug from her father followed by his words was reassuring to Zoe. She didn't want to stop the adults from being happy but she didn't want a brother or sister she'd hate either.
Tal shot a soft smile over to Zoe, his first Gaian born child and only daughter thus far and nodded"I'm certain the people will allow us a trial meeting first and I have questions I want answered of course." The seraph always had questions but that was just a part of him, had been since he was a child. The man leaned on Allen, a little glad the other wasn't opposed, though that wasn't necessarily a full yes either it probbaly hinged on if the brunet connected with a child.
Zoe smiled a little, it'd be like when Tezza looked at lots of pets before she got Mac, except the baby probably wouldn't be being walked on a harness or eat flies.

"So I guess that's settled then?" Allen asked pleasantly, grinning between the two. He seemed assured and calmed by the fact that they were no longer upset.

Things were indeed settled and it wasn't long before the little family was packed into the car and headed towards the address given on Tal's note. The seraph was still nervous though who knew what lay ahead , the internet had provided no info on these people, and how his family would react to the people in question running this place. Not that he himself intended to get involved if it seemed sketchy or they couldn't answer his questions. Tal believed in being informed and prepared about things and evaluating based on that knowledge.

In front of the building were two women. One of them was floating upon a strange hovercraft and in the middle of repairing a broken window. But the second seemed to just be relaxing, though she did jump up and grin when she saw the family pull up.
This woman was small with large black glasses and poofy brown hair. She waited for Tal and co to get out of the car and approach her before she spoke. "Welcome to Mystic Mixers Labratories. Wosssuuuuup?"
"Miss Blighto, stop trying to sound archaec." the second woman called from up high and received a stuck out tongue as a response.

Zoe had immediately been amused by the hovercraft and wondered if she could get one of her own, although the fact that the purplish haired woman riding it was fixing a broken window did unsettle the girl. Zoe did not want a sibling strong enough to break a window given that she wasn't all that strong herself.
Watching the two adult woman talk soon had her smiling though, they were like Pyran and Pash and divine only there was just two of them.
" Archaic and immature" Tal corrected as he stretched his wings after the ride. "That phrase stopped being popular some time ago and was never acceptable amongst professionals or those of the older generations. The further shortened 'sup' however remains in use today although is still not used in formal meetings." It felt good for Tal to lecture again even if the behavior of the present staff and the broken window were giving him uneasy feelings about this place.

Apoxi rolled her eyes. "I really don't care when it stopped being popular. As I have told Kayen, I will speak in whatever ancient dialects I wish and she can shove it up her own kiester if she doesn't like it."
Kayen shrugged, "Do your business and be done. It doesn't matter one way or another."

"If you're going to use AAVE or ebonics you should actually stick within it and not switch back to a more formal scholarly tone when chastised." Tal pointed out, crossing his arms over his chest. He was less and less impressed by the minute and turned his head to see how Allen was taking this.

Allen didn't seem to care very much how the woman talked, more interested in trying to figure out what broke the window. Given he'd had to go through speaking several different variants of the same language over many years, he understood the issues of just not wanting to change after a while.
Apoxi pulled her glasses down her nose, revealing very small and annoyed eyes. She then proceeded to say something very coolly in a language that didn't sound like any that had even been invented in the universe.
Kayen laughed lightly at that, being able to understand it.

Tal had no idea what was being said to him but he more than understood the tone of voice he was being addressed with and the seraph was less than please by it. His feathers ruffled and tips of his fingers glowed. Honestly there was no need for such insulting behavior he'd only been agreeing with the woman colleague, perhaps he'd been a bit overzealous but to say things to him he couldn't fight back to, that was cowardice in the angel's mind.
Zoe reached out to grab one of Allen's hands in hers, she'd seen and sensed tension before in adults but not like this and she'd never seen her father angry. He had to be angry becuase he wasn't glowing like the other angels she knew did.

Allen carefully put an arm in front of Talorian, keeping him back a ways from the woman. "Miss, if you're going to be offensive, we can leave."
"He's the one who was being offensive!" Apoxi griped, "Don't b***h at me for speaking incorrectly when you can't even handle my natural language."
Kayen took this time to float down. "Miss Blighto, you may finish fixing that window Hazij broke. I will escort them inside."

Tal shot a final glare at the poofy haired woman before nodding in the direction of her purple haired companion. He didn't trust himself to speak just yet , his finger still to do something to her like, nothing cruel or but perhaps a sudden outbreak in full body hives, maybe when they were leaving.
