haha have u ever had issues with ur announcer mispronouncing a name or mispronouncing even ur schools name? crackes me up until they mispronounced my name last week and its really easy lol. i'll get to that. every year...every competition, they mispronounce a different name.
Citrus high school....he says Circus high school Last year: Drum Major Justine Nank....they never pronounced her name right...it was always Justin Nahnk This year: Drum Major Jordan Kicklighter....Drum major Jordan Licklighter Pit captain Lindsay Hammond....Pit captain Lindsay Howard (said it twice in the same day and even corrected himself the first time Saxophone Captain Taylor Baker (me).....Saxophone Captain Tyler Barker Also our show is french and every announcer makes it sound like chinese or something....its funny!

When I was in high school band a lot of announcers would pronounce our school's name wrong...except it was technically the right Spanish pronounciation but no one who actually went to the school said it like that. (Ygnacio Valley...we said Ig-nay-show but most announcers said Ig-nah-see-oh)
And we did a hip-hop show last year with "Stronger" in it. During the show our announcer was all like "And next up, Kuh-nile West! Stranger!"

When we were waiting to go on the field, the announcer was reading another band's airgrams..."Do your breast-er, best. Sorry." Completely broke our focus. xd

Not sure why but at one of the competitions, the announcer said something like "My wife is gonna yell at me for getting a stain on my shirt"... Wtf?
But they do mis-pronounce names a lot...

Our drum majors names are always miss pronounced. We have Tyler Julander, which is pronounced Jew-lander, but everyone pronounces it like a spanish name, so it is Hulander, except at the last competition when it was pronounce You-Lander(?) Then Ceasar Ureas, pronounced Say-sar Ur-a-is, pronounced commonly Ceasar(like the salad) U-re-ah. And then the one that is kind of ironic. Her name s Lisa Timpani, pronounced Timp-on-e, but it is always pronounced like the instrumentXD
If I become drum major next year, my one worry is my common identity issues. My mom forgot a letter in my first name and spelt my middle name wrong. So now my first name is a boy name and my middle name is the boy spelling(Leigh for girls, lee for boys. I have lee) So I have a feelign i will be Brian for the rest of my life at a festivalXD(See why I call myself Mira? Or Bee?) MY BDs keep calling me that on accident too. In the end of eighth grade my BD did it, and he hd been my bd since 6t grade, and then last year my other BD did it too.

Oh! I forgo our school name! It is Santa Rita, for future references
At a concert festival last year, they called us SaquaritaXD Which caused a bit of confusion among those actually from the school saguarita, who looked majorly confused in their seatsXD Then they always say it weird, like putting super enfasis on it. Or Santa Rata(?) Sana Rita, Sa Rit, and more. Don't ask how such an easy anme can be messed up, i don't know.
Oh, and once, Saguaro.

Student leadership includes: drum major frank finin (finn...) guard captain Amber Josten student leader Matt Conner student leader Erica Hangsteen (hanstein) trombone section leader Joe Ferrereli Alto sax section leader steve turnbull clarinet section leader michelle wikiak (wiciak, pronounced wicheck, i dont blame him for that one) and tenor sax(even though my main is clarinet, dont ask) section leader dan eelkajdflsaj??? (wtf...... my name is pronounced eck in road)
needless to say we had a lot to talk about after we were done lol. i didnt know they let people with an iq of 20 to announce at games and such lol

How to you make something as easy as that into something in some outer space language?

This was awhile ago, and they were announcing air grams for the band that was going on before us. "Do your breast- er, best." xd It was hilarious. It took a couple minutes for us to get over it. xd
They always say people's names wrong, though. It gets funny after awhile.

at one of our competitions this year, the announcer was like, "and first place, class A guard goes to.... WILLIAMSTOWN!" and we all cheered and screamed and hugged because they never get first and they had been working really hard for that award.
and then about a minute later the announcer said, "wait we have a mess-up.. i'm sorry williamstown, but we're going to have to take that trophy back."
our guard ACTUALLY got third.. they just read the paper wrong and gave us the first place trophy at the wrong time. (it was first in class.. and yes, we got it. c: )
