Lavender paced in front of her home. This just... was... not... right! She stomped a hoof. She had gone for food, she had left her home under a shroud of purple mist. She was only gone for ten minutes! And what did she come back to? Some oaf had dispelled her mist and knocked down her home. Again! She snarled and set down her food basket then began working, again, to rebuild it.

Taggert whistled softly to himself as he strolled through the nightmare valley. He moved along only to wander to Lavender's area. Blinking, he tilted his head curiously to what she was trying to do. "Your home is giving you problems, miss." He said, attempting to be polite.

She jumped, startled. She focused and a thick purple mist filled the area, obscuring her and her home from his view. "I won't let you knock it down!" she said, planting herself between it and him. "go away!"

Taggert coughed as the fog swirled around and he blinked several times to clear his vision. He tilted his head at her.
"What? I don't want to knock it down." He protested, trying to wave fog away with little luck.

I never bothered anyone, all I want to do is live in peace" A friend would be nice, but I'm not going to be greedy, she thought. "Everyone knocks my house down. All the time. I put it back up, boom, gone again!"

"I'm sorry." he murmured, glancing at her home and hrming. "Well..would you like some help putting it back together? Or perhaps find a way of strengthening it so it doesn't get knocked down so easily?"

She hesitated, warring with herself. No one had ever helped her before. Oh, people had offered, but it always ended with her house in ruins. She glanced back, able to see through her own fog. She had gotten a few sticks back together, how much more could he break it, really? And as for upsetting her... She shook her head. Never again. She just... would have to make sure not to let him close. "Fine," she said finally, her eyes locked on his as she puled the fog back into her own flesh. She knew how bad her home looked. What was normally a lean to that kept out some of the rain when it was together was a pile of sticks and fronds. She waited for him to laugh, for him to push her in the mud. She braced, watching him.

He gave her a gentle smile and moved around to pick up a stick. Sticks were great...but he'd seen better materials. Oh well. Maybe if he couldn't succeed in helping her with her current home he could offer her a room at the castle. Surely his grandfather wouldn't mind right?
Whistling softly, he had some leather materialize and started to work it into a rope to better fasten the sticks together.

She watched him a moment, then set to work herself on another section of the top of the lean-to. She still didn't know what his angle was, but she did know better then to trust. She was tired of being hurt.

He finished the leather rope, enchanting it with a small magic. He went about picking up sticks and setting them up and leather binding them together, elegantly testing to make sure the leather would hold. When it didn't budge, he was satisfied, setting the pieces aside as he made more.

She worked on her side much more rapidly... but also sloppily. the workmanship was poor. A stiff wind would send it crumpling, which would explain a lot. She started putting the bundles together, trying to make the main roof now.

He watched her quietly as he worked, noticing she didn't have much of a talent for workmanship. He had finished working on part of the walls when he moved over to her to help her with the roof, fastening the leather bounds to it.
"Tar would be a wonderful asset for this structure. It'll help solidify the building and strengthen it. It will also help with keeping rain from leaking in." He suggested.

"It's also far too tempting to ne'er do wells who want to dump it over my head to have it present," she pointed out with a bit of a grumble.
