I'm not an artist myself but I do have some extra cash I'm not using..
And I was thinking if anyone had any ideas for some artwork we could commission for the guild, I could put in some gold toward it. ^_^ Maybe about 10-30k depending on the quality and quantity of the work?

I'm an artist, albeit not a fantastic one. Mostly I do lineart, but I'm told it's not bad. If I could draw and someone else could shade/color, could you call it a collaboration and split it?

Artwork is an awesome idea for something the guild can do together! biggrin
What about we start a new thread when we find an artist who is willing to make a group avatar picture, and we can have everyone who is willing pay their price of the total fee join in. smile
We should also have some restriction on who can join pic, to ensure that the ones who do are active members.

I think it's going to be hard to find someone who will do such a large group pic. People in the Art Request forum tend to shy away from even just couples. It'll probably take a lot more than some cash to sway someone into doing this..
Smeagle said he does line art, i'm a color artist so i could do the coloring on his work. Through, for me to do such a thing right now wouldn't be possible. Finals are coming up, i've only got about three more weeks of class left and i still have final projects that i've yet to start.

I wouldn't mind doing some art ^^ I need to improve anyways. Only thing is I'm not the best colourer ever and can't draw guys all that well. Do you want an example? >w<

I agree that there should be some kind of restriction on who can join; like Pup said, artists tend to hate having to do groups. Maybe we should limit it to 10? That sounds like a good round number. But what should the gold amount be to reserve a spot? The first number that pops into my head, if there are 10 people in the picture, is 10% of the whole price. So if the artist wants 40k, each person would put in 4k. Or something like that. Does that sound fair? Smeagle the Great and Fire Rose Tsukimi: Go ahead and post samples!

You know aside from the group picture thing, I had some other ideas for art: --Little rectangular buttons (I don't know what to call them) to put in our sig to link back to our guild! This has the potential to be fairly simple and might not require any drawing, but just some photoshop mashup of an avatar with the BOO eyes, the BOO symbol, and the guild name once we pick one. Of course an artist might have more creative ideas... --Day in the life of B.O.O: Kind of like a short manga... thing. A funny comic centering around the mundane and often frustrating tasks that the Overseer had us do during Demonbusters. -- Also I really wanted to get a drawing of my character as she is now, for posterity. ^_^ Only much, MUCH bustier. Oh yeah bby. So.. what does everyone think?

I'm the head of the art department for the guild so once we have a name and established rules i plan to make several banners/buttons for our signatures as well as something for the guild homepage.

I don't really have any examples to show you (I don't really have any pictures on the internet), but you can probably take it in good faith that I'm a fairly competent artist.
That, or I could tie my sister up and make her out official SINner slave-artist (on top of all of her other commissions).
Icy can vouch that she's a competent artist. I'm on pretty much the same level as her (I just have less drive and PS takes me longer, but I'm learning).
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that, I can do art.
And I'm not really adverse to group shots. To make is smaller, if could be, I dunno, Captain and Crew, the first ten to join, the next ten, and so on.
If anyone doesn't want to be drawn, then they can speak up.
You could make an art thread for people to detail how they want their art to look if we do do group shots.

I have an Artist recommendation. Her prices are reasonable and her art is VERY GOOD. Here's her ProfileAnd here's her Gaia Art ShopIt says that the shop is closed, but I'm sure I can convince her to do this if we have the money for it
