“God damnit Snuzzles, give me back my ******** jerky.”
If you'd never seen a tug of war between a cranky pink-haired teenager in his boxers and a small, completely inexplicable face-hugging crabmonster, then the scene taking place in the kitchens of Barren Pines might see a bit off.
Hell, it might seem a bit off no matter what you'd seen before.
For once, Andeon was not drunk. He had been drunk. He had been blissfully, wonderfully, amazingly drunk when he'd fallen asleep the previous night. Now he was simply hung over, exhausted, and questioning why he had spent the night dreaming about eating Miss Johnson. Granted, he had dreamt of eating Miss Johnson a dozen times before, but never like that. Worse, he'd woken with a mad case of the munchies, and had dashed down to the kitchens wearing nothing more than a pair of Pokemon boxers (Charizard) and an exceptionally clingy Snuzzles riding along on his head.
Screeee! The little youma argued back, his tiny pincers firmly clamped on one end of the jerky that Andeon held. His tiny, hard legs tapped loudly against the counter, and with a firm jerk he yoinked the jerky out of Andeon's grap. With a little victory hop and a few excited clicks, the little youma scampered off the way they'd come in.
“Fine!” Andeon shouted, cupping his hands around his mouth, “Go back to your shoebox and enjoy your ill gotten, seasoned, deliciously dried beef! See if I ever cross-stitch our initials into your washcloth ever again!”
A long series of grumbles and curses drifted out of the kitchen as Andeon yanked open the refrigerator in search of something edible.

Arastoo felt like having steak. Sure, he’s very often craved a nice grilled steak. A well-grilled beef steak cut to the perfection. That’s not new. What’s new is that he wildly wanted a blue rare steak. Just warm enough, and bloody. By the way, such a carnivorous hunger never struck him in the morning. He blamed that strange nightmare where his stomach came to control his thoughts and body without any rational explanation. (Sure, the part where he ate a random student was creepy, but he was more upset by the complete lack of control. If he ever turned into a zombie, he’d make a point of asking authorization from his prey.)
Steak was out of question at this hour. But Ara needed something more filling than fruits. What appropriate meal could he find today? The student wasn’t wearing much more than Andeon: checkered boxers, black slippers and an immaculate T-shirt. However, he still had a bandaid on each cheek (one of them being only there to maintain a sort of symmetry with his face). He came in the kitchen, and recognized the guy living next to him, though he never really got to know him. “Good morning. What’s the fuss all about, if I may ask?” he asked with a tired voice. And he recognized something else. Maybe. “What was that now?” Damn, don’t tell me I start seeing that thing everywhere now. I’m not that traumatized. Really.

"Mrrrrrrrrrph," came the greeting as Kirin stumbled into the boy's kitchen. It seemed closer to sleep-walking, really. It was a sign of how out of it Kirin was that the 'girl' normally never seen out of her immaculate uniform had wandered in wearing her nightgown. Okay, so it wasn't short and sexy - plain cotton, with short sleeves and falling almost to 'her' knees. But still - a girl! In the boy's kitchen! In a state of undress!
"Coffee," came the usual groan. Normally that was enough for Kirin, but today there was another request tacked on. "Fooooood."
Yeah, so Kirin wasn't a morning person. Especially after the freaky zombie dreams last night. At least, Kirin hoped he'd been a zombie in the dream, that would be slightly less disturbing than a full-out cannibal.

Steak was not out of the question for Fallon. Quiet careful steps took her from the second floor kitchen down to the first floor, her cart clicking quietly along at her heels. Typically, she cooked on her own floor, but right now, it wasn't worth the risk. Dreams were silly, sure, but Fallon doubted she would be able to look Serenade in the face for a bit. Not after she had dreamed of, well, eating that face -- eating all of her, actually. Granted, Fallon had dreamt of eating Serenade a dozen times before, but never like that. Perhaps she would have felt more comfortable if she had only dreamed of Miss Johnson? Hm, it wasn't something that she thought she'd ever chat about with Andeon, but as she turned the corner into the kitchen, she found herself staring up at him, and not just him -- several students milled about the kitchen. Fallon cast her eyes down, staring at the black slip-ons she wore under fitted black work-out pants. Of course, the dark-haired girl only slept in them, and with a properly ironed matching camisole. Despite the ungodly hour, Fallon looked as though she might be preparing for class. She had on makeup, her hair was pulled back into a smooth ponytail, and a cardigan with a belted waist eliminated some of the "these are my pajamas" elements of her choice of dress. And yet, she was embarrassed. This was far below her normal standards of attire, and now, it was too late to change it. Great. If she hadn't of been so damn hungry, then she might have considered it. As it were, Fallon was in the first floor kitchen to correct what she believed to be a nutritional problem. Clearly, she had dreamt of eating Serenade due to a lack of red meat in her diet, and the lovely girl was the star of the dream because of Fallon's passion. That was it, just a mere nocturnal confusion of voracity for hunger with voracity for lust. And so the only solution was to correct the problem immediately with a big a** rare steak. Pushing her lips together, she strolled over to the stove -- still clean from her efforts the night before -- and began to unpack her cart full of ingredients and cookware. At first, she said nothing, letting the click and clack of all her things resonate in the small kitchen, and then, at last, she offered a quiet, "Hello, I am making steak. And eggs. Please sign the notecard and indicate how you would like it cooked." Slipping a hand into her bag, she produced a notecard identical to those she normally carried around. The Notecard Dear classmates,
Please do not violate my cooking space. If you would like to eat something, please sign your name below, and I will prepare enough for the both of us. Coffee is available on the other counter. Help yourself.

Thank you,
Fallon Iva Novette-Naim Once she had set it down on the counter, Fallon pulled out her teal masking tape and quickly squared off a section of the kitchen (approximately all of the stove and the sink area) where no one was to go but her. Even those that did not live on her floor would know the peril of entering Fallon's tiny cooking square. Just ask the freshman who got a fork jammed through his hand in the first week. She hadn't gotten in trouble for it, which was good, and it had shown the new kids how serious she was, which was double good. Dropping her eyes to half-lids, Fallon began to go through the beginning stages of her preparation. Her usual practiced politeness was replaced by a cold shoulder, a standoffishness. She wasn't in the mood to socialize, but it would seem that she did not have a choice. Operating from muscle memory almost, Fallon continued on her normal pattern, crossing to the coffee maker by the fridge and popping in some of her own grounds. She dumped the old water and filled it with some purified water, and then started the pot, saying nothing to Kirin as she crossed back to the stove. Her OCD would force her to stick to script, but the rest of her mind did not want to be here, did not want to see these people, did not want to have this hunger.

It was rather hypocritical (unless you knew the truth), but Kirin was put off by this female in the male kitchen. This was his goddamn refuge, okay, where all he had to worry about was fending off grabby boys. He didn't need any catty remarks or feminine competition in here. At least not before finding some ******** coffee! In his barely aware state, Kirin was about to start a bitchfight to end all his bitchfights with Lucy Mor, when he finally noticed something. This... interloper... was making coffee. Coffee that Kirin didn't have to try and make himself, useless as he was in the mornings before caffeinated. Kirin was almost tempted to marry this woman. Well, that would be the feeling if a normal person were having it. On Kirin, it was more like a tolerance and general acceptance of this stranger in his space. Somehow he managed to wield the pen to scratch his name onto the note provided. The Notecard Dear classmates,

Fallon Iva Novette-Naim Despite his serious hunger attack, Kirin thought he'd throw up if he tasted blood right now. That dream had been disturbing and the LAST thing he needed was a reminder of that. Bad enough that it was making him eat breakfast at all (normally just coffee got him through til mid-morning for a snack, then he was fine til lunch). Kirin was NOT rewriting himself to pander to some stupid a** dream. "Frrrmgh," he mubled out to Fallon. Possibly 'thank you', possibly 'feed me then ******** off', no one knew. Least of all Kirin, too busy staring at the pot of brewing coffee as if hypnotised.

“Greetings, Kirin”, mumbled Ara, massaging his temples to get his spirits together. “Greetings… err… miss.”And then, she had to mention steak. It was one thing to think about it and refuse the idea because who eats steak at this hour? But it was hard to ignore the proposition. His stomach grumbled some more. Alright, he did need steak. He stared down at the limits set by Fallon, slightly puzzled, but anyway, he made sure not to get there. Who knew what else would happen to him. Ara took the time to write downhis desired meal on the notecard. The Notecard Dear classmates,

Trace just wanted a bowl of cereal. Something innocent and not-suggestive of anything, because not only had he has a dream about cannibalism and woken up with a serious case of the munchies (this was kind of disturbing), he'd had a dream about eating Mason of all people, and it had been loaded with Freudian symbolism.
Trace was angry. Angry about Dreams. And of course, upon arriving at the kitchen, his discovered it had already been commandeered by one particular pink-haired drunk.
He was not interested in human contact. He was interested in eating something before he gnawed off his own leg in frustration. And he Did Not Want To Talk About his dream. Ever. In fact, he'd like to forget it, starting ten minutes ago when he'd woken up.
Apparently, the way Fallon was running things, there was no self-serve. Trace did not want steak and eggs. In fact, steak and eggs was the last thing in the world that Trace wanted right now. He would have eaten a whole bowl of creamed spinach and a bag of popcorn before eating steak and eggs.
He stared at the list for a moment, tried to avoid the gaze of the other students in the kitchen, and pushed past to get a bowl out of the cabinet. He grunted something and poured himself a bowl of cereal.
He sat down to eat, and only then did he say anything intelligible.
"Did they put pot in the air vents or what?"

Nihls had stumbled his own way to the kitchen area, blinking like a owl that might have run into a pane of sheet glass, wearing his uniform sweater over a pair of blue full PJ's that clashed with the red star buttons, all of which in turn looked just as noisy with his bright green slippers, which looked like the sort of thing unpleasant aunts gave you for Christmas, right before pinching your cheeks. Basically, it was classic Nihls fashion 'sense', crowned by his finger combed hair... although this morning his outfit had gained the slightly more unusual trait of a subtle dusting of cat hair. He was unaccountably starving, and still trying to shake off the unpleasant dream, and the note-card with it's requests for steak didn't do much to help that front, bringing the image of sinking teeth into a screaming classmate back into sharp focus. Coffee sounded pretty good, so did eggs... but steak.... Bacon maybe... hmm. Did they have bacon? He pulled his glassess off his nose and rubbed his eyes sleepily, trying to cover the shudder and gulp at the mental crossover between steak and his dream. "...Do you need any help?" he asked Fallon, figuring the cooking of vast quantities of scrambled eggs might just get old fast. Anyway, surely he could manage to cook that.... "...And do we have any bacon... in the fridge." Possibly due to being in an 'not a morning person' fog, he'd also completely missed Snuzzles... which was probably for the better.

Fallon shot Trace a glance as he came terribly close to her boundary line. Thankfully, the cabinets were above the countertop, and Fallon had restricted her own space to the stove and part of the sink. She let herself calm back down, flipping butter into the pan. As more and more people fluttered in, Fallon simply tapped the card, eyes fixed on the slowly melting butter and the sizzling hiss of grease. She nodded to Ara by way of greeting, long ponytail bobbing at the back of her head.
When Trace spoke, she shrugged. Fallon had never tried weed, but she was contemplating it. She heard that it made food taste better and was curious to test the theory. Perhaps she would do it... once blood stopped filling sinks, dead things stopped falling out of closets, and creepy dreams stopped berating her sleep. Yep. Maybe then. "It's always a good time to eat," she said, pulling out another pan.
Fallon always ate her steak rare because that was the best way to serve it. The weird dream could not sway her from her eating habits, no matter how disturbing. Not to mention the dark-haired girl had already chalked up the bizarre perversion to some desperate need for red meat. Yep. That was it. Now, blue rare was a bit more on the juicy side, but it was Ara's choice. Fallon could make it, and she saw no danger in it either. It was food; it was worth the risk.
Tilting her head to regard Nihls, she shook her head. "No help please. But thank you. I prefer to do it myself. It is no trouble." Fallon quite literally did this every day. It was no different than brushing her teeth. If anything, it would make her an excellent caterer one day, what with all the training she had received at Barren Pines for cooking for large groups of people. "I did not bring bacon, but if you check the fridge, there might be some. I can make it." It wouldn't be the product of her choice, no doubt, but Fallon wouldn't be the one eating it. Grabbing a large skewer, she flipped the first steak into the pan for Kirin. The food would be best if she made it to order, and so she went about preparing the first on the list and would proceed down from there.

Before he'd come to this school, it probably would have just been another nightmare. Just another creepy as hell dream that came from playing a few too many games in the horror genre, and he'd put those aside for a while to play something that kindergarteners were allowed to touch.
After watching his DS warp his face in the worst posessed-DS way possible, he wasn't so sure about this dream. Especially since he'd felt the zombie-hunger after he jolted up in bed.
Whatever the weird dream was about, he didn't really care for the moment. He was more hungry than he'd ever been in his life, and something was going to have to be done about that. Still in Atari pajamas, he wandered into the kitchen, lazily tying his hair up with a rubber band.
He had to blink several times when he realized how many people were there. What the hell? Curious, he poured himself some coffee, stole a whole box of cereal from the cabinet, and sat down to begin shoving it in his mouth sans milk.
"What's everyone's deal today?" he asked nobody in particular through a mouthful of Reese's Puffs.

Yvette was shy about wandering about the halls at night. Especially in her pajamas. The dark haired girl had never come across as a strong individual, so one might have assumed she'd wear a cute pair of store bought pajamas that were decorated in cute little fluffy animals.
Yet, as she wandered down towards the kitchen, it almost seemed as if she was a predator with a set of pajamas to match the occasion. She wore a thin tank top that only barely covered up her "cupcakes" that left a decent portion of her stomach exposed, as well as boxer styled bottoms. The full thing was made of a leopard print cloth. It seemed a bit out of character for Yvette, but these pajamas she had made were ever so comfortable. And normally, nobody ever saw them.
Tonight, however, was something different. She had fallen asleep, as usual, in her bed. It was far from a satisfying sleep though. She almost immediately began to dream. She had been in the 1st floor study area, as she had been guilty of visiting from time to time out of sheer boredom. However, the frightening thing about it was how hungry she was. It wasn't one of those peckish moments where you craved a small something or other to satisfy your tongue's desire for a particular flavor. Oh no. She had felt like she was going to die if she didn't eat the first thing possible. The next part she dreamed of didn't help her any either. She was dark haired Topher standing there, smile on his face as usual. He had been delicious.
While in the hallways, walking down to the kitchen, one could notice as the girl winced a bit, recalling this part of the dream. While wandering down the hallway, she couldn't help but wonder why specifically she had eaten her friend in such a disturbing fashion? When she woke up, she had been hungry, but much to her delight, it wasn't for the flesh of a friend. Just normal everyday hunger. She decided to make a quick trip to the kitchen and back before anybody noticed. No big deal, right? However, even from the third floor, she could hear a bit of a commotion down two floors. This is what happened when it was in the dead of night. Any sort of noise could be heard through the entire building. Curiously, she wandered down the stairs, towards the commotion. It apparently was coming from the 1st floor, and to make matters even worse, it was in the kitchen.
Squeaking slightly, she made her way up to the entrance for the kitchen and peered in cautiously. Maybe she could find Topher and reassure herself that nothing bad had happened to him.

“That was nothing,” Andeon waved his hand as Snuzzles scuttled out across the hallway. “That was j-”
Well hello there!
Andeon's attention was immediately snagged by the pretty, red-headed girl. He'd seen Kirin in the halls a few times, but her striking resemblance to his beloved Miss Johnson had always kept him at bay. He had sauntered over and was just about to make his move when in walked Fallon.
Big Gay Fallon.
Big Gay Alive Fallon.
Andeon normally would have scowled at his OCD best friend for coming in at entirely the wrong moment (he couldn't score with the hot red-head when Fallon was there, she might try to steal his girl!). Normally, except that Fallon had been one of the several people who he had seemed to devour in his late-night dream. Which meant that instead of a glare and a few angrily muttered words, she got a nice, big dose of Space Invasion.
“You're ALIVE!” Andeon practically screamed, taking two strides to wrap his arms around Fallon, pick her up, and spin her in circles. It didn't matter what she was doing at the time, Andeon had no problems interrupting her. Just like he had no problems going into her room when she was away and misplacing all of her pencils. Even once he set her down, the invasion would not end. He grabbed Fallon by the shoulders and, while shaking her lightly, profusely apologized.
“Oh god Fallon, I'm sorry I ate you. I mean, don't get me wrong, you were delicious, but I'm still sorry I ate you.”

Someone emerged from his slumber to start counting an almost infinite number of things in the kitchen, and that was Ara. Eight people in the kitchen. That’s fine. There was a small area traced around the cooking girl, and in order to fix the symmetry, he took a couple step to the opposite part of the kitchen. He still wanted steak. That made another problem to fix, by eating his breakfast tonight. A ninth creature he hadn’t noticed left the room instantly, so there were still eight… … WAIT. Not only had he noticed it, but he recognized it. His eyes followed the bug-like youma with amazement. He was positively flabbergasted. As positively as one could be flabbergasted, anyway. Actually, he was more like completely ******** negatively flabbergasted. Arastoo pointed in direction of where the critter from hell got out. “What was just that. Could someone please tell me what was that. Is it what I think it is? Is it seriously what I THINK it is?” Sure, a deaf man would have told you he appeared to be in total control of his emotions. Since no one else in the room was deaf, however, they could all tell he was in complete disbelief, and damn pissed. The fact he voiced his concern monotonously didn’t really help any. He needed to have a talk with Andeon.

At the sight of the thing with far too many legs, Trace promptly got up and dumped the remainder of his cereal into the sink. He hadn't been paying attention to it before, but now that Arastoo had pointed it out, he could not ignore it.
"I have lost my appetite," he announced, as if delivering a line of Shakespeare. "And I am going back to bed."
He did not want to hang around until Mason showed up. He didn't think he could face him.
Trace left his bowl in the sink and stalked out. He could not deal with this right now.

That had been the weirdest dream ever. Mason moved slowly down the halls, incredibly tired and hungry and pissed (why had he dreamed about eating someone like Sue Gottschalk was - well, a mystery was what it was, who the hell would eat Sue - he probably tasted like kitty, although from what he remembered of his dream it was just a lot of blood and flesh and - never mind, Mason did not want to think about this) and also hungry. Very hungry. Unfortunately he also didn't know how to cook. He passed Trace as he stepped into the doorway of the kitchen, nodding absently to him. Wow - there were a lot of people. He had no idea that many people at Barren Pines would even want a midnight snack. He'd have definitely stayed even if he wasn't hungry just to watch - but the offer of food in the notecard placed on the table cemented his decision. Steak and eggs was as edible as anything, even at this late. Slowly, he wrote his name down. The Notecard Dear classmates,
