Remy had spent the last couple of days exploring, trying to learn his way around this new city and the outskirts. Everything was so big here, and everyone was so unfriendly.
Well, except a few, but hey.
The kitten had managed to scrounge up some scraps from garbage cans and litter, but now his tummy was rumbling yet again and he was screwed, seeing as he was now in...a place with trees. No garbage cans or humans to litter around.
No he would not admit he was lost, okay.
Flattening his ears, Remy frowned and padded forward a few steps before pausing. No, maybe it was the other way....

The runt had disappeared somewhere. Usually he was in his usual scavenging grounds or sleeping somewhere, but nope, not today. As to why she cared, she wasn't 100% sure...but whatever, she was on the hunt for him either way.
Finally, Kaikara had gotten used to being a stray. It hadn't taken her long, and now she was used to gathering her own food, defend herself, and she even knew the area pretty damn well. Which is why she found it funny when Remy's scent swerved off and around the city towards the foresty outskirts.
Humming as she made her way towards the undergrowth of the small forest, she flicked her tail and peeked her head underneath the bushes and such. Still smelled like him. Wiggling her way through the bushes to get into the overgrown grass, Kaikara continued on towards the other cat's scent, head lifted and mouth partially open to get a better idea of where exactly he was. She was no dog, so it was kind of hard to tell--but she hoped her tracking skills were decent enough.
"Remy?" She called, tone slightly amused, "Where the hell did you go, runt?"

Turning in circles and letting out a pathetic little whine, Remy plopped down onto his butt and looked up with a pout. Maybe if he climbed the tree he could get a better look...? But he was kind of afraid of heights - kind of meaning a lot. Kind of pathetic for a cat to be afraid of heights, but there you go.
Walking up to the base of one of the trees, he peered up and wrinkled his nose with a huff. Might as well try...
Hopping up, he squeaked and clung to the side of the tree frantically, squeezing his eyes shut. "Just go just go," he squealed and just like that he was shooting up the tree as fast as his little paws could carry him, making it to the first branch before he could fall.
But as he lay out on the branch to catch his breath, he peered down - and immediately let out a whine. God it was so tall!

Flicking her ears when she heard a squeal--obviously distressed--she blinked and made her way in the direction of the squeal.
Humming as she went, she looked around...until she got a strong whiff of Remy and looked around. Not here...where the hell was he?
Frowning, Kaikara lifted her gaze to the tree, hearing some leaves shift awkwardly, and spotted the black bundle. She couldn't help but laugh, seating herself and staring up at him curiously.
"How the ******** did you get up there?" kai teased, smirking at him, even though he looked scared. Weird kitten.

Squeezing his eyes shut with another little whine, Remy dug all four sets of claws into the bark of the tree frantically, his body quivering. Okay, he was up here, but he still couldn't see jack and he couldn't get down. Awesome. Sniffling, he flattened his ears and tried to think up some plan to get down that didn't involve moving, when he heard something beneath him. Oh just his luck something comes along to eat him...
"Kai?" he squeaked, ears immediately perking up at the sound of the girl's voice. "Kai I'm stuck," he wailed, still not opening his eyes.
Now the other cat would just pick on him more, but oh well. He liked the attention, so what. "Help meeeee."

Of course she could pick on him more. Arching a brow and staring up at him, she couldn't help but chuckle as she stood up and made her way to the trunk of the tree.
"You're not that high up, Remy," she cooed, beginning to make her way up the tree to retrieve the smaller cat. Poor thing, she couldn't deny that she had gotten stuck up a tree once or twice.
Making her way up quickly, she was to the manx's branch in a matter of minute, stepping up to him to sniff at his back softly, making sure that he was uninjured. "Why'd you come up here if you were this scared? Rabbit chase you up or something?"

Watching her warily, Remy pouted as she made it up to the branch so easily. Of course. She has been a stray for longer than him, and she probably knew this area better, and could probably help him get food...bah.
"I..." To tell the truth and get made fun of more, or to lie. Remy was never a very good liar. "I got lost," he whined, resting his chin on the branch. "I thought I would be able to see my way back to the city if I climbed a tree but then I got too scared and couldn't get down and now you came along and hopefully you'll help me," he rambled, perking up a bit with a smile.
How the female was going to help him get down, he wasn't sure, but oh well.

Humming as he explained himself to her, Kaikara stood behind the manx and cocked her head. Well, he was quite tiny...probably lost weight when he became a stray...so maybe, just maybe, she could pull a mother cat and just grab him and get down.
"Well, you shouldn't be wandering by yourself, then," the hybrid muttered, moving to step over him so she was in front of him. "You need to relax, though," Kaikara was decently larger than the cat in front of her, whether it be due to breed, age, whatever...but this would make things easier, now wouldn't it?
"Let go of the branch or this is going to hurt," she cooed playfully, leaning her head down to move his collar out of the way--and pretty much pluck him up by the scruff.

"Who else am I supposed to run around with?" he huffed, squeezing his eyes shut again. When Kai moved on the branch, he squeaked and clung to the tree tighter. Peeking an eye open, he looked up and squeaked as she picked him up.
Oh dear god how embarrassing, he hadn't been carried like this since he was a baby in the damn pet store.
"Put me down!" he squeaked, wriggling.
But he curled up into a ball and hung there anyway, squeezing his eyes shut with a squeak. How embarrassing, being carried around by a girl...

"Shush," she grunted past the fur of his neck, padding towards the trunk of the tree to begin to make her way down. Mindful of Remy in her mouth--who was getting damn heavy--she slid down the trunk by her claws and thumped down on the solid ground, dropping him on his butt.
Now her jaw hurt...sigh.
"Better, runt?" Kaikara smirked a bit, seating herself to lick at her paw, cleaning the bark and such off of it, "I'll show you around town sometime, a squirrel would kill you if you stayed up there too long."

Squealing as he felt them practically free-falling, Remy curled up tighter, practically crapping himself. It was scarier with his eyes closed, he swore.
When he thumped onto his butt, he let out a huff and flopped down onto the grass with a sigh, wiggling his nub happily. Solid ground~ "Thank youuu," he cooed, hopping up and nuzzling affectionately at her cheek with a giggle.
"That's a good idea! I'll stick with you!" he hummed, prancing around her happily before picking some bark and leaves from her fur. "Were you going to have dinner sometime soon?" he asked curiously, his tummy rumbling as if on queue. Sigh.

Shaking herself off just as the kitten nuzzled at her, she hummed and yawned a bit--though was cut off when he began to prance around her, announcing that he'd stick to her from now on.
Well, guess it was better than dragging him out of the trees, right?
"Dinner?" Her ears perked when the kid's stomach rumbled, and she rolled her eyes slightly. "I guess I could hunt something down. Mind birds at all?" More tree climbing, but eh. Maybe there were some eggs around, something easy.

Plopping to sit in front of her, Remy smiled brightly and wiggled his tail nub with a hum. Good, she didn't say no~ Remy liked being around the other cat anyway - she was nice. And pretty. But he wouldn't say that.
"...birds?!" he squeaked, staring at Kai in horror. Non-half-eaten meat sounded nice, but a pretty birdie?! "Teach me to fish!" he chirped, jumping back up and waddling around her with a giggle. He had seen some other cats fishing before, and wanted to learn, but when he tried to teach himself, well...not good.

Sigh, this kid was so frustrating.
"You're going to have to learn how to hunt birds and stuff too, you know," she muttered, arching a brow at him before pushing herself to stand. Stretching, she arched into a playbow for her back, stretching one leg out behind her at a time, while her front claws gripped the grass.
"Fine, we can fish," there was a lake in the park, so they'd just head that way, "Follow me," with that, she straightened back up and made her way towards the scent of water, tail high and curled behind her, showing that she wasn't as annoyed as she seemed to be.
Actually, she was thankful for the company.

"I don't have to do anything~" Remy said quietly, watching her stretch.
She was so pretty...
Shaking his head, Remy smiled and began waddling after her with a hum. "I could be a pescatarian! My family were vegetarians," he pointed out with a hum, his little nub wiggling away. "It'd be too hard to be vegetarian, I need meat." Although he did really love fruit and such. Mm. Grapes. "We should get some fruit! I mean. After we fish," he rambled, prancing to catch up with her.
"What was your family like?" he asked curiously, cocking his head. Sure, he had his bad memory of his family - how he had gotten his scar - but really he just figured everyone still had decent memories of their domesticated lives. Humans weren't so bad, right?
