My friend and I had to take the dog out for a walk.

Okay. I'm not happy about that. It's dark outside. I don't like it. But my friend will be with me, so I don't care. Our house sits on top of a hill, our backyard slopes down a good twenty to thirty feet. A huge green garage/workshop sits there, an industrial light buzzing away.

The Beagle sniffs around before finally taking care of its' business. I'm talking with my friend, it's cold outside, I just want to go back in.

But that's when I saw it.

I will admit - it took me rather off guard.

Every muscle seized up in my body, and I could literally feel adrenaline pouring through my veins. I froze - couldn't move. My friend grabbed my arms, started shaking me, and I honestly tried to get my lips to move.

"Turn around," I wanted to scream, "Just look!"

The thing was sitting by one of our go-karts. It almost seemed to be sniffing around in the grass. It rolled its head to look at me, fluid and graceful - like a cat - and then it stretched up to what must've been part of its height. It took off to a clearing, faster than anything I'd ever seen run. Silent. So, so quiet. My ears were ringing, straining to hear sounds it produced.

I tried so, SO desperately to make my mouth move. My friend was worried I'd gone into shock. He didn't know I was looking at the thing fifty feet behind him.

It ran into the trees, disappearing into the dark. I saw its' shadow fade away, and only after it was gone did I manage to unwind the ridigness of my muscles and nearly burst into tears.

It looked rather like a dog. A nine-foot tall dog, all skin and bones. It ran on four legs, but I was certain it could run on two.

It was also pure white.

When it ran, it made absolutely no sound - and it was sitting in some pretty tall grass.

-----------------------------

This IS a true story. I just wanted to convey my emotions through this experience. Because I've honestly no idea what happened, nor what it was. It scared me, though.

My brain had been screaming at me at the time to just tell my friend to turn around. But I'd been so scared I couldn't do it.

I was the only one who saw.

I regret that now. I wished he could've seen it.

Yes, I had my Beagle with me. I thought that since this thing looked like nothing I'd ever seen, she'd react. But no. She was hurt (her back was giving her problems) and had been using the dog restroom.

I thought maybe this gave me an indicator that the thing meant no harm.

I certainly hope so.

**This did happen a while ago. Just an FYI.

I had something similar happen, was out walking my dog by my school with my friend. On rollerblades(By the way, bad idea lol ) It was getting really dark and the street lights were coming on. Well something was on top of the hill and runs down towards us, full speed, weird/creepy/dull black eyes I remeber, maybe they were brown. But whatever it was it was black and not an animal I have seen before it looked like a dog, coyote...wolf? No, it was shaped like a wolf (Wolves don't live in my old town so thats weird. o.O ) with a really long and hairy tail, and short and stubby ears. It had, what appeared to be razor sharp teeth and it was growling, it did not sound like a normal growl. The worst part is my dog went and chased after it (This is when the rollerblades kicked in, tripping me over. lol ), but it seemed to disappear, I screamed and grabbed my dog, running back to the house with my friend. It was strange.

Huh.

I wish I had actual photographic evidence to show people, but I don't. Because of that, people are often skeptic, saying that I hallucinated the entire damn thing.

I beg to differ.

Because I had another experience.

I was out with my friend near a light pole we have in our front yard. Kind of industry-strong - very powerful light source. I was near it, talking to my friend (Matt, the same one as before), and I felt. . . Off.

Odd, something was wrong. it was dark out, and I had the heebe-jeebes.

I told him that it was a bad idea to be out here.

Him, thinking I was terrified of the dark again (I am), began to call me a chicken and other demeaning things. His way of encouraging me to stay there, you know?

And I heard it.

A trill of a bird, or something close to it.

It was nothing that I had EVER heard before. It was nothing that I have ever heard before. It told me that it was nothing I knew was in the area. My instincts told me to get the hell out of there. So get the hell out of there I did. I turned around, my friend calling me a chicken and a coward the whole way.

I ignored him, already halfway back to the house.

But then it got quiet.

And suddenly he was running, telling me to run.

It was a bird. Or something. I don't know. I didn't see it, but I heard it. And I dashed inside of my house, scared.

Where did you hear about them? I googled soul rievers and came up with nothing but some kind of video game or something. I even looked up supernatural dogs on wikipedia but could find no mention of them. Could you link me to a good source? i would like to learn more about them.

This sounds kind of like the things me and my friend have seen, rather ghoulish skin and bones white dog like tall creatures, about room or tree height (some short) long legs or weird legs, seen them near the woods - scary things. I haven't heard them make noise but I never hear noise when I pick up such things. I usually don't tell people about it don't want to sound crazy, unless it gets brought up.

Heard them called by whom? Assuming you mean "reiver", as in "border reiver", I can't find any entries about "soul reivers".

Sounds like other people have seen them, too.

It honestly just terrified me to death. And like I said, I wish I could've turned my friend around to show him so I had an eyewitness, but I honestly couldn't move.

:/

Nor did I have a camera at the time, sooo. . .

honestly i don't look up the name on the internet. i always get that dumb video game that comes up. I did however find the name in some old book in the library in town but that was years ago and since I don't remember the name of the book i couldn't tell you anymore than that. on the other hand just because the person in the book called them "soul rievers" does not mean that is what they are. I speculate that it is nothing more than maby a hound of hell or some non human creature of some sorts. all i know is that I have seen them and they scare the living crap outta' me.
