Hmm… it wasn’t often that Ololara was deep in thought, but this was certainly one of those rare moments. The forest was dark and deep, but, hey, it wasn’t like she had any promises to keep. The rain fell in heavy droplets all around, making a music all of their own. The lioness, however, was far more focused on something more important, something hidden in a puddle that only she could see.
“Hmmm…” she said loudly, despite the fact that no one was listening. She simply liked the sound of her own voice sometimes. In those times of being alone, it was nice to remember how to talk, especially for a social creature such as herself. “You know… I think it needs something. Something like… oh… more awesome?” She backed away from her own reflection and looked at the world around her, apparently searching for something to, in her own words, make herself look ‘more awesome’.
Or at least something to occupy her time while the rain continued. The broad thick leaves overhead kept most of the drops away from her, but it didn’t make for a particularly exciting world for the lioness. Honestly, what sort of grand adventure happened while one was sitting around out of the rain? Uh. None! Duh! Because no one wanted to listen to a story like that? To amuse herself, she fussed around with a collection of particularly shiny stones, musing about what she could do with them. Perhaps make some sort of a necklace of a headdress…
Actually, those leaves could make a rather spectacular one too, riiight? Just anything to relieve some of this awful boredom!

The sky had opened up and was now pouring. Almost out of no where too.
Luckily, Caius had managed to get a moment to him self and was now perched happily in a tree away from the rain. It seemed now a days his brother Augustus was more obsessed over finding their old pride mates. Caius, on the other hand, had given up on finding the lost members and was now more focused on enjoying rogue life. He'd met some pretty interesting characters so far away from home. It was refreshing that everyone could be so different out here.
Haha, take that rain, was what was going on in Caius's mind. The gladiator was so pleased with him self. Escaping the rain and his brother, two birds with one stone. How perfect was that. The leopard attempted to make him self more comfortable.
Unlucky for Caius, the branch where he laid was rather slick from the fresh rain. The leopard had thought he had found safety in the high up branches only to find that a slippery branch was as dangerous as playing with fire.
Down he fell with out a single yip or cry. Caius didn't have to, the look on his face said it all. The ground met the leopard with a dull thud and all Caius could do was lay on his back, wide eyed, looking up wondering what the hell had just happened.

Looking down at her own reflection and admiring the way the green leaves set off the brown of her fur, Ololara didn’t notice the swift shadow overhead. If she had noticed, she probably would have reacted by saying ‘is anyone out there’, a question that never got any good responses. But, she didn’t notice him, so she didn’t say anything. “Damn, I make this look good!” she mused to herself. “Why, I bet I could even make the earth move!”
She hadn’t actually meant this which is why it was a complete and utter surprise when something really did move. The leaves were promptly dropped to the ground and she backed away from the lump of… of whatever it was that had fallen from the sky. Now, she wasn’t exactly widely traveled, but she was pretty damn certain that most forms of precipitation did not groan upon hitting the ground. Gathering up her courage----and she had ample levels of that---she trotted right over to the fallen leopard and peered down at him, her eyes meeting his.
She really had no shame at all. “Hi!” she said brightly. “Gosh, I didn’t know that it rained leopards out here. Is this a common occurrence? Should I be on the lookout for more?” It wasn’t that she was stupid or anything. Lara was just very curious and always open to new ideas. “Or does this just fall under the category of raining males in general? I know that song.”

The stunned leopard couldn't really react. He was in shock and ashamed at the same time and the dumbfounded look just hung from his face. He hadn't expected to slip from that branch and Caius hadnt expected for anyone finding him in a horrid moment such as that. The leopard just stared for a few moments.
"I-I suppose it rains leopards from time to time, " He gave her a soft smile at last before rolling back onto his feet. The gladiator eyed the lioness.
"A song about raining males? " He tilted his head, his lilac eyes staring. Rogues always interested him how their personalities differed. This female before him seemed like a good egg but it was to early for Caius to make an judgement.
A pain shot up the leopards back and he cringed. His face twisted in pain, that fall hadn't been a soft one. Lucky for Caius it was nothing long term.
"Oww.. " The moaned, "That.. wasn't fun.." He gave the female a forced smile.

Hmm… so it rained leopards in these parts. How weird! Lara had only ever seen leopards from a distance so she took a full opportunity to look at this one up close. They were so strange-looking, compared to the lions she was used to seeing! All low to the ground and without manes. “Yep! I didn’t say the song made sense. It might be one of those ally-gore things, you know something that appears to be one thing but is really, in fact, about something else completely different. Like all of those little songs about birds in the bushes and it being Spring and all that.”
Lara stopped talking abruptly, frowning at the leopard. He was hurt, and she didn’t like that. Well, she knew a thing or two about healing at least. “You know, I could probably help with that. I’ve got this relative who gets hurt all the time so I had to pick up a few healing things,” she said helpfully, or at least in a way that she hoped was helpful.
“You know, I always wondered why there wasn’t a game for falling out of trees. I think you just discovered the perfect answer: because it just isn’t fun.” She wasn’t teasing him. Well… much. Ok, a little. She was just joking around. “But, hey! You fell out of a tree far better than I could, right?”

Caius just kinda eyed the lioness as she went on about things he didn't quite understand. For one, he hadn't grown up much with songs with Atia for a mother. Sure his mother loved them and was lax to an extent but she had always been strict about training. It explained why his brother Augustus was a total android about everything but not why Caius was such a lazy leopard.
"Healer.. " He gave her a pained smile, "I m sure I'm fine. Thanks though." He looked up at the branch and laughed, "I don't think I'd want to play a falling out of tree game ever again. But was a pretty good fall neh?" He laughed. "Not fun at all when you land on your back though."
His eyes turned back to the lioness. "My names Caius.... What are you doing out in the jungle if you don't mind me asking?" It wasn't so odd to find a lion in the jungle. But in his experience, usually leopards were the ones who really went into the jungle. Caius had learned a lot about rogues and other species in the short time he had been away from Binadamu.

“If you say so,” the lioness said, just as cheerfully as before. It made no difference to her if Caius accepted her offer of help or not; indeed, she was just as pleased that he was perfectly fine. “Yep! I give you an 9 out of 10 points on your fall. The landing needs a little work, but you’ve already figured that out. Just keep practicing and you’ll certainly get a full ten points and all the shame you can help yourself to.” It was a testament to her talking abilities that she was able to make shame sound almost as good as milk and all the cookies you could eat.
“Hm? Oh, I’m Ololara!” Finally, an introduction. It probably should have happened several moments ago, but the fall and all sort of took attention away from such formalities. “And I just wanted to see what was in here. If I didn’t go exploring, I’d always wonder what was in here and it’d drive me mad. Or at least severely disappoint me, especially if I later discovered that there really was something truly amazing in this jungle. Which there is.”
Meaning, of course, Caius himself. “You know, I’ve never actually spoken to a leopard before. I’ve seen a few around, of course, but I’ve never actually seen one close-up.”

Caius felt a smile curl on his maw, " Exploring eh Ololara? I can relate. I hadn't been in a jungle really at all growing up. Now that I know the exist I think I'm in love," He gave a playful longing sigh, "True love." He pawed at her playfully.
"Only a 9? I do think I did better then that. Come on now, I landed with style," He gave her a fake pouty look. "Next time maybe I'll include some fancy flips or something if that's your better idea of a fall from a tree."
He puffed his chest out proudly as if he was an athlete or something. But her next comment made him deflate a little.
"Never talked to a leopard before?" The male tilted his head, "Why not," He laughed, "Leopards and lions have so much in common."

“Please, call me Lara. The whole Ololololol thing in front always annoyed me when I was a cub. I actually used to introduce myself as Olololololara because I didn’t know when to stop.” Actually, she didn’t introduce herself that way as a cub very often since Atasaida normally stopped her from socializing with much of anyone. Honestly, he was such a Grumpy-Gus sometimes! She met the pawing with enthusiasm, responding with her own light whack. “You landed on your back. That’s gotta take a point off, at the very least. Still, you gained some points for surviving. This is a very important part of Tree-Falling. Dying is an automatic failure.”
She actually had to pause and think about his next question. “You know, I’m not entirely certain. I do know that my cousin is a paranoid twit who really thought everyone was out to get us. Basically, whenever anyone strange approached, he’d be all, ‘Tehnoes! Quick, run away!’. Not an especially social guy, my cousin. I don’t know what his problem is. Well, actually, I assume he has several, but anyway, that’s not important.”
As for what was really important… Ololara theatrically looked around, as if to make sure no one else was listening. Leaning closer to Caius, she whispered, “And speaking of what is important… This jungle is amazing! What else is there in here?”

" I think Olololololara's fun to say... I some times go by Justinus.." He looked off to the side and mouthed , 'ololololololololo'. What could he say it was fun.
"Your cousin and my older brother sound like they might be the same cat," Caius grinned. It was true his older brother Augustus was a bit of a stick in the mud when it came to fun. Augustus hated it when others were entertaining them selves and not constantly focused. Though, he was a product of their mother.
The leopard sighed but smiled when the lioness asked what else was to see here.
"Maybe we should find out. I'm still pretty new to being a rogue thing. " With that he took off some random direction, sprinting and weaving his way threw trees and brush.
"Come on slow poke!" He cried to her over his shoulder.

Justinus? Lara tilted her pretty little confused head to one side as she allowed this thought to roll around in her skull. Maybe tilting allowed it to roll around more or something. Still, she was pretty sure that Caius and Justinus had absolutely nothing in common with each other, aside from a U or something. Well, maybe leopards just had a different idea about names and nicknames.
“Oh really? You know, I always wondered why my cousin doesn’t have much of a mane. This explains everything!” Ok, not really. Actually, having a leopard as a cousin would just raise more questions than answers, but Lara was willing to play along. “It also explains his affinity for trees, a spotted coat…”
Goodness! While Lara was busy mocking the Atasaida-is-secretly-a-leopard-theory, Caius had gotten a head start! Now that was just unfair! “Hey, no fair! No running while I’m mocking! I get into a full fugue state of mockery, you know!” She ran after Caius, although with far less grace. It wasn’t that she was particularly clumsy. It was just that she wasn’t especially graceful and somehow managed to find every single spare branch in the forest and get it to whack her.
Also, she found a conveniently placed tree root to trip over, thus proving that a lioness-trajectory is at least equal to the power of one hundred awkward moments. After a few summersaults, she at least was ahead of Caius, if only for a few seconds since she then encountered a conveniently-placed tree.
“Uh… ta-da?”

Caius was so busy running he hadn't noticed the mishaps Lara was encountering. Not until she some how managed to appear in front of him. The males eyes widened, he could have sworn he had left her behind him while she had been mocking.
The leopard eyed the lioness now before him. He was confused, very confused why she was in the lead now.
"How did you..." The thought trailed off and he just stared as he paced only to watch her 'encounter' a conveniently placed tree. Caius skidded to a stop and rushed over toward Lara.
"Are you alright? " He eyed her his face twisted into some concerned expression.

In all honesty, Ololara was probably even more confused than the leopard, especially about the rather fanciful imaginary birds swirling around her head. She pawed at them vaguely before looking back up at Caius to answer his question. “I think I’m alright. I think that lions just aren’t meant to go tearing through the jungle, with all the branches and everything. How do you manage to avoid them?”
It was a pretty important question, since it felt as though the young lioness had encountered every single damn branch in the entire jungle during her brief run. Maybe they just really liked lions… either that, or they really hated them. She got up slowly and shook herself off, doing a check-up out loud. “Let’s see… four paws? Check.” As she spoke, she picked up each paw in turn to take a look at it. “Legs attached? Check. Attached to self? Check. Tail?”
Oh, yes, she still had her tail! How she would have missed it if she had somehow been separated. “Check… Caius?” Upon that last word, she took a playful leap at her newfound friend, trying to pin him to the ground.

Avoiding branches ? Was it really that hard? He smiled and turned around padding over to go check on the lioness. Really it never occurred to him that other might have trouble keeping up. Strange.
"Suppose Im just used to the jungle," He shrugged and took a seat eyeing her. She looked fine but he couldn't really tell. "I take it you weren't raised in the jungles? " He smiled and flopped onto his back looking up at her.
"That was quite a stunt not gonna lie. Think I'd give it a 10," He gave her a crooked teasing smile pawing upward at her. "I'll slow down next time."

“Nope! This is pretty much my first time in a jungle. It’s really interesting. I never thought there’d be so many things to trip over for one thing. All of those… tree branches underground and whatnot,” she said, referring to the roots that haunted her every step. Or, rather, pre-haunted her steps. It was like there was some sort of a curse meant to trip her up. Clearly, this was another property of the jungle, since it had rarely been a problem in the wide-open plains.
“Closest I’ve been to otherwise was… let’s see… me and my cousin usually just went around jungles, actually. He always said it would be too easy for me to get lost in them. We’ve always traveled.” Although, in the back of her mind, she dimly remembered another time, a time when her family was bigger than just her cousin… it hadn’t been in a jungle though. More like a small forest. There weren’t quite so many trees around.
“You had better slow down next time,” she said, giving her new best friend a gentle bop on the nose. “Or else I’ll have to come up with some decent threat, won’t I? And I hate coming up with threats. I’m lousy at those things.”
