Mawi Mai was sitting in the back of the den that they picked to stay in for the night. They were already starting their journey toward Ravi's pride and even though they had only been traveling a few days they were already making some distance as far as Mawi could tell. That made her happy she was excited to meet his Aapep's brother, yet at the same time she was very nervous about being away from her pride. Even if it was just a short amount of time. Yet she was excited to see what she was missing outside of the pride. She was always pretty curious about it but she never went out to find out.
She stretched out before standing up and wandering toward the front of the den. She was really wondering where Aapep had gone off to. She made a small face before sitting down at the front of it, stretching out and smiling slightly. She knew he was going to be heading back soon. He was most likely just making sure that he knew where they were going. Yeah, that made the most sense. She closed her eyes enjoying the night time breeze surround her. It was a very nice night, she couldn't wait to spend it with Aapep.

Aapep hadn't gone far away. He'd just gone to clear his head a little, enjoy the evening breeze and allow himself to settle back into rogue life. It had never really suited him - or his mother either, really. He found himself feeling somewhat edgy, but not so much so that he wanted to go back.
No. This was a journey that needed to be made.
He was returning a few moments later, moving with steady, slow steps of his paws. He looked up as the den came into sight and smiled a little as he spotted the form of his mate in the darkness.
Without a word, he padded over to her, moving to lay at her side, pressing against her. Then, he hooked his chin over her shoulders and squeezed her gently.
It was a fine night.

Mawi Mai wasn't really used to the rogue life herself. She wasn't used to it at all. Sure she had all of those times where she wandered out for the day but she was always home at night, she was alway safe in her home at the end of the day. However this was something new all together. Sure change was always good and she knew for a fact that she was going to be heading home at the end of the trip but it was still something else. She was glad that she had her mate though, it was just about the only thing that she felt like was keeping her safe. It made her no so afraid of the whole thing because of it.
She was so into her thought that it took her a moment before she realized that her mate was coming her way. She snapped out of them right away before grinning at him, she couldn't help but to smile every time she saw her mate. She slipped her shakers off of her paws and tail as he approached the den. Putting them next to her drum. She wasn't going to go anywhere with out it. That was for sure. She looked at him again smiling at he laid next to her. As soon as she felt his chin on her she started to purr. "Hello love." She said quietly as she closed her eyes enjoying the feeling of her mate there.

"Hello." He replied slowly, almost sleepily. "Sorry about disappearing like that. Just needed to get some cool air in my lungs. It feels...rather odd being out here again without the protection of the pride all around us."
If he was to admit it, he'd even go so far as to say he was afraid. As stupid as it was, he'd always felt safe and secure when his mother had been with him - even when he had been fully grown!
"I'd forgotten what it's like...I have to say, I don't miss this lifestyle at all. One good thing about the journey, then, is that it makes me appreciate what I have with you back home."

Mawi Mai smiled slightly at her mate before nuzzling him gently. She was starting to feel more relaxed now that she knew her mate was here and nothing could happen to her. "I don't blame you at all love, it is very beautiful out. It's nice out." She nodded as she looked out side closing her eyes as she could feel a breeze flow into the small den that they had. She looked at him before looking out side once more, curling up against him a little more. "It does feel a little strange." She chuckled to herself then closed her eyes. "I'm not used to this feeling at all."
She purred and leaned into her mane a little more. "Well soon we'll be in the safety of your brother's pride." She nodded to him then nuzzled him once more. "Then we'll be heading home and we'll be safe once again." She licked his maw and gave him a big smile. "Beside... I know I'm safe with you around." She closed her eyes and leaned into him once more.

He nodded. "I would never let anyone hurt you. Not ever." It was true...Aapep had never been in a fight before, but he did not doubt that he would not shy away from it if it came to it. His love for Mawi was so strong. To think of anyone hurting her had his blood boiling despite the fact that it hadn't - and hopefully wouldn't - happen.
"I'm pretty sure we're on the right path. I'd say perhaps three more days of travel and we should be there. Why, oh, why did brother have to choose to live in a pride so far away? I wish he lived closer by so that the journey wasn't so...epic!"
He nuzzled against her. "Even still...despite it all, it's nice for us to have some alone time. It's a rare treasure now-a-days - not that I'm complaining! Our children are all so beautiful, but they do demand an awful lot of attention!"

Mawi Mai purred once more rolling on her back so she could look up at him. It was nice to have some one there with her. she never would have expected all of this when she was first him. Then again there wasn't that many times where you met a lion and thought that it was going to be your mate. She pawed at him gently and then licked his nose. "Thank you love." She purred once more and relaxed a little more. She couldn't help but to laugh a little more at his comment about his brother.
"I'm pretty sure that he picked his pride before you did." She teased playfully. "Its a nice trip though I'm pretty sure there is a lot we can run into on our way. I kinda want to see it all anyway. I never have been out of the den for this long." She nodded and then purred at his nuzzle then laughed slightly. "It is nice to have some laone time. I love it." She giggled then nodded. "They aren't asking for so much attention anymore... I can say some times I miss it though. It was fun having some one to take care of."

"That's true." He laughed, realising that Ravi probably had lived by the sea for a good portion of his life. In any case the journey was good and it couldn't be a bad thing to stretch one's legs and broaden one's horizons.
"They have grown up so fast. It only seems like yesterday when they were tiny balls of fur, so dependant..." He shook his head. "I was talking with Kova just the other day...listening to him talking about his hopes for the future...it made me so proud. We have a wonderful family."
He sighed deeply and leaned over to press his nose to the side of her muzzle. "Being a parent is a wonderful thing. And who is to say that they will be our one and only litter? There is plenty time for another!" He grinned, eyes sparkling. "We are young yet, dear heart."

Mawi Mai smirked at him, she loved being able to tease her mate and him take it so good. she knew some others didn't like being teased, there had been times where she wanted to joke around and tease others and they would get all bent out of shake. She could be her complete self around her around him, even the times where she acted like a cub herself. She was really something else at times. She nodded at him. "Well we'll have to tell him that next time it's his turn to visit us." She winked at him playfully. "He'll have to visit his niece and nephews." She then had something else come to her mind. "I really hope that he likes me." She looked down at her paws in a bit of embarrassment. She wasn't that sure she was afraid but it was the first time she was meeting more family than just Kirjava."
She was filled with joy as she thought about cubs when they were little. She loved it when she had cubs taking care of some one was more joyous than she thought it was. "They were so cute back then. She giggled once more. "We do." The she felt a little more excited at what he was saying next. Another litter? That sounded amazing. "Really?" She looked at him she was feeling excited. "You wouldn't mind having another litter?" That made her feel pretty amazing at the moment. She always wanted a big family where everyone stayed together and everyone was happy. Where her cubs could have both a mother and a father and more than one siblings to spend their time with.

"He will indeed." Aapep replied, nosing her cheek fondly. "And of course Ravi will like you. You are the most beautiful lioness in the world and you're family. Don't worry about that, love."
He thought a moment on the prospect of another family and then let a smile make its way across his maw, lighting up his eyes. "The more the merrier, right? But no, seriously, another litter would be a wonderful thing. Being a father brings so much joy and I couldn't imagine anything better than having more children with you, love."
He rubbed his head against hers.

Mawi blushed as her mate called her the most beautiful lioness in the world. She really couldn't help it. She wasn't that used to lions she then nipped at him once more with a soft smile on her face. "Alright." She giggled a little bit then tenderly licked his ear then let out a small yawn, she was getting a little tired but even though she always got to spend time with him it was so ood going to sleep, she wanted to spend as much time as she could with him at times. but then again at the same time she was glad that they were wandering away now she had that time with him.
More cubs around? She always did love cubs, she also wanted to give her cubs what she didn't have. she wanted to make sure that her cubs had plenty of siblings that were their full siblings and that they had two parents around. She looked up at him with large eyes before grinning. "Right!" She giggled before nudging him. "I'd love to have more little paws around the den. It will be amazing."

He settled himself more comfortably and took a moment to groom her ears, purring a little as he did so. "It's decided then." He spoke between washing. "We'll have another litter as soon as this is done."
He nudged at her gently and resettled himself, allowing a yawn to pass between his jaws. "Travelling sure does take it out of me." He murmered. "Lets rest a while before continuing. Travelling on fresh legs will make us swifter."

Mawi Mai smiled at him then nipped gently. "Settled." She purred as he groomed her before shifting herself. She curled up against him with a idle purr rumbling from her chest, she was starting to feel a little tired herself and his yawn didn't help her to suppress her own. "Your right, sleep sounds good." She giggled as she yawn then rested her head on his paws. "As long as we get to sleep in." She laughed before closing her eyes. "gooodnight love."
