Rowan had made his way through the weakened barrier of Hell along with the other members of the herd. They each had their own reasons for returning, some were to seek revenge on ones who did them wrong in the past, others were looking for second chances and others still he wasn't sure about their reasons. His reasons were a bit of revenge and a bit of trying to get a second chance. His life had ended far too early for his liking, he was still young, still had things to experience. Some of those things may be impossible now, but he would try.

Rowan looked over the others as they took their first glimpse at their new home. Surely some of them would remember when they had lived amongst these lands before their time in Hell. Others may now. He remembered a lot. His memories had flooded back as he made his way through the barrier. Though some were fuzzy he now could remember what had happened to him and most importantly why he had these blasted ropes around him. Though they irritated him often they now had a purpose. They would be a reminder to him to not trust humans. He took a few steps getting used to the new and old surroundings of this land. The smells, the colors, the sounds. All familiar and yet so very foreign to him. Perhaps in time they would be more welcoming, but now they were another burden to him.

He stopped not far from where the barrier was. That was the instructions that the leaders had given him. To gather outside the barrier and they would follow the others out. He wasn't sure if they decided to come out last to make sure everyone made it out or to discuss some things in private first.Either way he trusted their decisions and would do as he was told.

Hovering in between worlds, Poison Ivy's mind whirled. Hell was no good place to be, filled with the rank stench of decay and the gruesome visions of constant death and torture, but would Earth really be any better? She couldn't remember much of her past life, but she remembered that something so horrific had happened to her that her own memory had decided to suppress itself. All of it. Yet, something still drew her onwards. A flare within her whispered of the glories of the land, of the fresh air, of the green foliage, of the handsome stallions. But was it really a good life? Her mind hung on the verge, ready to swing one way or another. In the end, by no conscious decision, she pulled herself through to her past.

At first she stood frozen. A large, green field spanned in front of her. Each blade of grass seemed to hum with life, tempting her to go and graze. At that moment, she was suddenly aware of just how hungry she was. The cool breeze ruffled through her fur pleasantly, easing out the stench of decay, although it would never truly disappear. And then the memories hit. Oh, they were painful.

Her past was odd, and she believed she would never truly understand it. There were so many odd sights, images her mind could not even begin to comprehend. She remembered living with kind people. They had taken care of her, they had loved her. That hurt itself. What was love? A twisted, gruesome emotion, no more. Hell had taught her to look down upon it. Then one night a booming noise started. The air had thundered as something loud thudded on the ground, sending shock waves through her hooves. She hadn't understood it, but she knew it was the two-legged beasts. Her owners left suddenly, leaving her alone. She grew hungry, having had no food left. Unsure of what to do, she had left the place she had called home. The memories caused her to ache again, her stomach convulsing in it's anger at a lack of food. Still her mind replayed the memories. She had wandered far, and finally seen a horrific sight. Two groups of two-leggers faced each other. They appeared to have dug giant holes in the ground, and were firing at each other with big silver things. Her ears roared with the noise. She had though she was deaf.

And then the screaming started. The people closest to her started to scream. Half of them clawed at their throats, eyes glazing over as they fought to breathe. The rest pulled odd things over their faces, she hadn't understood why until a sudden gust of wind had carried the air over to her. Her lungs had started to burn. Her eyes flashed with red as the searing gas forced its way down her throat. She had screamed, in a way only horses could, but to no avail.

She shuddered, her mind plunging to the present once more. Her breath came faster, and it was only know that she saw the green tinge of it. The foul taste of gas was still on her tongue. Other things were odd about her. Her hoofs were glowing. Glowing. And odd green marking had formed upon her rump. She swallowed uneasily. Already, she hated this Earth. She should have stayed in Hell.

As her eyes strayed, she noticed another horse. The first she had seen since coming over. It was clear from his appearance that he was not from here. He came form Hell. On alert, she padded towards him slowly. Of course, she had smelled the horse scent before. It was what attracted her to the weak barrier in the first place, but she hadn't met anyone else. Was he the leader of this whole operation? Or just another pawn pulled into it like her?

She stopped before him nervously, her cold eyes giving nothing away about the raging conflict within her. "Who are you?" No 'hi' or 'how are you'. Just a cold, emotionless question.

Vengeance stood outside of the gate with the rest of the herd. His tail twitched lazily as he waited. Waiting. It wasn't particularly something he liked to do. As it was he could feel a strange pull. He needed to leave, needed to go do... what? It was there, he could feel it. Like a silent and invisible force urging him forward. No, not yet. He could wait. As it was he had already waited ten years, it wouldn't be too hard to wait a few more moments more. Then he would have his revenge, his vengeance.

The gray stallion stood a few moments, not quite sure what to do. Ten years in Hell hadn't done him any kindness, and his mind wasn't what it used to be. Although it wasn't like he hadn't deserved his sentence in Hell. Oh no, he'd earned that. His jealousy had been far too great and he'd done things that hadn't been particularly nice. But that was all Sky, all those memories were Sky. None of them mattered now to Vengeance, except one. Oh yes, that one he would not forget. He would take care of it, he owed to Sky, to himself.

He fidgeted a bit anxiously swishing his tail back and forth in agitation. Waiting. Still waiting. Vengeance wanted to do something, needed to do something. He needed to follow this urge, to take care of his unfinished business, but he knew it would have to wait. He had to obey his leaders, they were the law, and would have to come first. For now.

Hollow made her way following the horses she spent her last while with in the place of decay and fire. Why had she ended up here to begin with, she was good hearted from what she remembered....
Maybe it was for the best she didn't remember her past or why she was the way she was.
She snorted and gave a light nay as the horses seemed to moving, moving to a familar place, she took in everything, including the light.
The light it was bright, it seemed cold against her hide, not like she remembered sunlight to be. She shifted her hooves on grass, it to felt different, the dirt, cold, the air scented with smells she could only take in hints off.
She watched the head stallion that seemed to lead them on, she always felt awe for the horses that lead them through the flames of the underworld.

Poison Ivy threw her mane, letting her anxiety out in the form of anger. More and more horses were crowding around her, all from Hell. She didn't trust them, didn't trust anyone. She hadn't followed anyone in Hell, but this place... this place was different. The urge to hide in numbers was great, the urge to be part of a herd, yet almost a century stuck in the dark pits of despair had taught her that isolation was the key. She shifted slightly away from some of the horses, veering towards the outskirts of the group.

Too many horses. Too many. Her head spun, the taste of gas on her tongue becoming more and more bitter. Would they smell it? Would they keep away from her? Or were they used to such sights? She didn't know how to act around others anymore, but there was safety in numbers. She wasn't going to forget that.

Pawing the ground, she turned to stare at the grass beneath her hooves. Would it stay as grass? Or would it shrivel as soon as she tried to eat it? Whilst the hunger had been there in Hell, it didn't matter to her survival, so she'd forgotten about it, but here... the urge to eat was great. Bending her head, she took a cautious bite of the grass. It was a bit old and dry, but it tasted heavenly to her senses. Gulping it down, she took another bite, her eyes watching her herd-mates closely, daring them to say anything against her.

Rowan looked up as the mare approached. He gave her a quick look over trying to remember her name, he had made sure to know each members name before he left Hell. Upon seeing her glowing hooves he instantly knew who she was, Poison Ivy. He lifted his head a bit as she spoke. "I am Rowan." He said is a gruff voice. "You are Poison Ivy are you not?" He asked wanting to be sure he had the right name.

His attention turned away from her for a moment. Others were gathering here as well. The members of the herd slowly began to emerge from the weakened Hell barrier and were clumping together just as the leaders had instructed them to do. He stretched his neck a bit, hoping that now those ropes would loosen a bit. Damn they still tightened. So this was to bethat way it was, he thought. Fine, he would allow the ropes to stay, chocking him at every move, for that could help him in the end.

User ImageWhen the rift between the worlds had open, Nolta had not hesitated to follow those leading the way. If she had been by herself, she would not have had the strength to do it alone, but where the herd went, she followed. Without question, she was theirs just like they were hers. Hesitating when it came to that final step, she didn't even think about what she was leaving behind. There was nothing in hell for her, and there never would be, but what waited for her in the next world?
Nolta was not a brave soul but she knew what she had to do anyway.

Breathing deep and closing her eyes, she took her final step.

Her first view was that of the other horses gathering around and a sigh unconsciously fell from her mouth. They were there, or most of them were. This she knew how to relate to. This was her element. Surrounded by misfits, just like her. Raising her head, she glanced at them, examining them almost skeptically. They looked the same, just like their had before, save for a few small changes. Perhaps earth was just like hell?

Turning her gaze to the new world, her breath caught. No, nothing like hell.

To her, it was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen. Her leap of faith in following had been perfect.

Moving slowly as her old bones creaked and cracked like they tended to do when they got old, Nolta moved away from the herd. She knew the leaders had told them all to wait but it was beautiful. A little look wouldn't hurt, would it? They would forgive her, she was sure. Eventually.

Itehew's gait was strong as he moved towards the rift. There was no moment of hesitation and no thoughts. He knew what he had to do. He crossed the rift quickly, as if trying to get rid of some unsavory experience quickly. Snorting and pawing the ground with his hoof as he made it to the other side, Itehew raised his eyes and surveyed the land. Filled with horses of hell, it was bright and cheerful. It made him sick.

Itehew's appearance was that of a normal horse, a dark red coat making him ominous and his eyes had begun to glow red when he had stepped across the barrier. No one had known how he had died, he had never told anyone. Not a single mark or malnourished sign had been on his flawless body. He was as beautiful as the day he died. The only flaw he could see was the blood which stained his hooves, the blood that haunted him no matter where he went.

Tossing his head and mane, Itehew's red eyes took on the horses who had already crossed the barrier. There would be no denying where they came from, their wounds alone making them an impossibility in this world naturally. A cruel looked passed across Itehew's face as he thought of the advantage he had. He looked almost normal. The perfect disguise in a world this shallow and disgusting.

With a confident stride, he moved from in front of the rift, so as to not block anyone crossing behind him. Taking his position not far away, he kept his gaze sharp as he watched, and waited.

Hollow found a good place to stop and watch the horses coming forth through this portal, as the leader had put it, she had not remembered much from the world she knew before, only hell and now she wasn't in it, it made her feel uneasy and restless.
She found herself next to a dark blood red stallion, she too was almost normal.. almost, she hide her back leg against her other as she shifted back and forth, waiting for the last to come through.
Some she did not recognize, some she did. Her blue eyes scanned the area, watching others eat, others testing the ground and themselves.
She black and white coat seemed dull compared to the red stallion next to her and she squinted to take his appearance in, he almost seemed not to belong to the herd and she wondered if he had been but a horse in the field when the portal opened and set them loose.
"You are part of this head? no?" She said akwardly, having not talked in a long while.

Thanos stepped through the weakened Hell barrier with his head held high, each step he took was deliberate. Once he was on the other side, back where there trees lived and the birds sang, he stopped. His gaze fell over those who were gathered here. They were a pathetic looking bunch, but they were his. His herd. Well his and Thorn's herd. His eyes fell on each of the horses one by one, staring coldly at them, asserting his dominance over them again. At least that's what he wanted them to think, truthfully he was trying to remember who was who now that they were all gathered together.

"They certainly make a sad and pathetic group" War chirped
"What do you expect? They just came out of hell. Did you think they would all be perfect and happy?" Peace retorted.

Thanos was glad that only he could hear the rats as they spoke about the herd. Though what they said was true and he knew it. He didn't expect them to look any different now that they had returned to life. It would be almost odd to see them as normal horses. Even he was still a half rotten walking corpse at best, but he wouldn't have it any other way. He glanced back at the barrier, Thorn would arrive shortly. If there were any stragglers left in Hell then Thorn would deal with them swiftly. He went to speak, to address the herd when he noticed one of them was wandering off. Did he not tell them to stay put until they arrived? He was pretty sure he had said that.

He took off after the grey mare whos thin body had clearly seen better days. "I told you to stay with the herd! Can you not even comply to one simple task?" He stared down at the skinny creature, wishing he could remember her name to further her punishment but it seemed to escape him right now. "Get back with the others now!"

"That one is no good." War said about Nolta. "She does not follow the rules. We shall kill her."
"She is a member of this herd, we cannot kill her."
"No, but he could." She stated, pointing to Thanos.

Thanos snorted at the rats. They did have a way of putting things that almost amused him. Yes, he could kill her and be done with her disobedience. But no, there were better ways to handle thing, she was his minion and she would do what he told her to do. No matter how evil it was, she would have to do it.

Vengeance had stood quietly observing the rest of the herd. He was taking measure of each horse as they passed by him. Some had promise, the others wouldn't be of any use at all. Not for him anyway. Too many mindless pawns. That's what these all were. Did any of them have any sense left up there? Well, none but the leaders had any power and therefor he needn't bother with anyone but the leaders. He would show the rest that he was worth something. Not some parasite leaching off of others for substance.

Slowly the stallion made his way through the herd to stand near the outside of it a little apart from the others. He would not leave, not yet. For now he would do as he was told, he would get into the good graces of the leaders and he would work his way up the ranks.

Vengeance had just been about to take a bite of the grass, and taste it for the first time again, when he saw a mare starting to leave. She looked so weak he wondered how how she even walked. For a moment he tried to remember her name but then gave up. She would be of no use to him so why bother? The grey stallion was about to go back to eating when he saw Thanos come through the barrier headed straight for the mare. Now this could get interesting, he thought to himself.

Quickly he moved forward just enough that he could hear what the leader would say to the mare. He chuckled a little at the thought of her actually thinking she could leave. What did she really expect to happen? To be honest though, Vengeance was a little disappointed when all she got was a slap on the wrist. After a few moments, Vengeance went back to eating. He had no desire to interact with anyone else at the moment.

Itehew eyed the rest of the horses with almost disinterest, eyes flicking to the young mare next to him who spoke up, obviously trying to pass the boredom somehow while they waited for the leaders to appear and speak to them. She was small and looked almost normal, save for the bones of her leg which flashed at her back leg. She was another horse who would been obvious as to where she came from.

“Yes,” he replied blandly. In a way, he was. He followed the herd but he never interacted with them. Technically, he was part of the herd but at the same time, he was nothing to do with the herd.

You are one of the herd too, I assume,” he reply, perhaps to keep the conversation going, perhaps just to stave of the boredom a little longer.

“I am Itehew,” he said, introducing himself, “and you?

The world was as beautiful as Nolta remembered from before she had gone to hell. The sun shone brightly, the glass glittered with dew and the birds chirped happily. It was the most stunning thing she had seen. With soft eyes, she glanced around with her heart throbbing a heated rhythm in her chest. Her heart was beating again. It had never beat in hell. Was it beating? Or was it just a lie, her head making up the noise she wanted to hear. She didn't know, she didn't care.
She was home again.

She heard Thanos coming before he spoke, turning back to face him. Instantly guilty, she lowered her head in submission as he snapped at her. She knew Thanos. She remembered him. He was one that stuck heavily in her mind, though she remembered every herd member which was around, he was a stronger memory.

“I appologise, Leader Thanos,” she replied softly. “It's just...” she cut herself off. There was no use for explanations, he wouldn't care. He wasn't interested in her thoughts anymore then he was interested in her beyond a minion. She shook her head softly and began to move back towards the herd.

“It won't happen again, Leader Thanos.” It wouldn't. Nolta wasn't a fool. Without the herd, she would be killed easily, and she didn't want to go back to hell. Never again.

Rowan watched as the one leader, Thanos took care of the mare who had wandered off even though she had been told to wait. Stupid mare, what was she thinking. He made a mental note to never cross Thanos or the other leader for that matter. Thanos didn't seem like one to dish out any physical punishment, but Thorn on the other hand was all muscle. He did not dare cross that stallion ever. He watched the other horses closely, seeing if they reacted in any way towards Thanos' outburst to Nolta. Would any of them be stupid enough to stand up for the skinny mare who had disobeyed a direct order. Rowan hoped so, perhaps he would get to see his first fight in a long time.

He shifted his weight slightly as he waited. His back leg that had the rope around it was beginning to throb again. The pain served as a reminder of just what humans will do to one. Pushing the thought aside for a moment his gazed moved back to the barrier. Thorn would likely arrive soon with any stragglers so he better look ready once the second leader arrived. He dropped his head a bit, it did help relieve the pressure on his neck a little but it was also to be in a more submissive position once Thorn did arrive. No he did not plan to be an overly submissive horse, but it would do him no good getting himself killed now when he only had just left Hell.

Hollow blinked as the stallion answered her.
"Itehew" She repeated after him, letting the word roll from her mouth in a weird fashion.
She shifted her weight from her boney leg, letting it rest, bringing it close to her other back leg, why must it always feel so cold.
"I am Hollow" She let out in a soft whinny, it was odd being here and odd being alive again. She almost longed for the heat of hell on her bones again, however warm it seemed out in this sun, she felt cold, as cold as bones.
She shivered, the hair on her pelt sticking up along her spine as she twitched. Her head turned quickly to notice a black stallion, or what was left of a black stallion. Death, this is what he reminded her of, death. Though life was not much for her as well, there was no memory for her, just death. Death, lingering on old brittle bones.
Her ears perked as she watched him chase down a very thin mare that she had not noticed left the herd.
She found herself watching him carefully as he bullied the mare back to the horses that crowded the area and something stirred within her, they couldn't leave? It had not occurred to her until now and it for some reason made her want her freedom when it had not bothered her before.
She snorted and stomped her hooves around displeased. But words would not be spoken today, she was brought to life by a miracle and she tended to want to stay in this grass filled plain for a while yet, no matter how cold it seemed.
