Abel eyed the streets of Destiny City, the pavement bleeding gold and violent and all sorts of colours he wasn't entirely fond of. It wasn't anything in particular against the colours, really. Just the fact that they were vibrant and soulful and the Guardian Cat felt rather pointless. What was a Guardian Cat without a senshi to protect? He'd awakened a few, but...It just wasn't quite the same. They were either too dumb or too coy or too retarded to be of any use to him.

The cat leaped around from structure to structure till he landed on the ground with the elegant, soft sound of tiny feet hitting the pavement and his copious amount of fur following soon after. He wandered aimlessly, dashing under the feet of humans who were contentedly oblivious to his dark form in the almost-night. Abel realized, when he saw the familiar flickers of light spread out across the green field before him, that he was in the park.

He was in the park, and something was tugging at him, at his heart. He was in the park for a reason-- a very space related one. With ridiculous transformations and sparklies and fukus. Joy.

"Twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty-seven-" Pasha's small, pale finger pointed out new fireflies every time a little blip of light caught his eye, counting them off as he went. He tried not to think about how many of them he'd counted twice; it was more fun to think that there were for reals billions of them all over the place here. The thought made his stargazing spot all the more magical, and a magical stargazing spot was the best. Ever.

He laughed as one landed on his nose, and it was probably a little too loud as far as laughter coming from effeminate boys who were all alone in a dark, scary park at night went. The echo of it was a little startling to him, and he paused, holding his breath and waiting.

Maybe there would be nothing. Maybe there wouldn't be any monsters and he could go back to counting fireflies until they went back home and the stars came out to say hello.

His accute hearing heard the source of the counting long before Abel could see the boy, his big eyes and rosy cheeks and twilight coloured hair immediately pointing him out as Something Special. Destiny City was remarkably boring for all its diversity-- different faces, different skins, different words but everyone was, intrinsically, the same. Everyone was a pawn in one intricate game of chess game where both sides are playing for keeps. This one seemed...it was hard to put into words, really, rather than just his feelings. But for the first time in many encounters, he was almost excited to see what this boy would be. He crept close enough to plop down on the boy's blanket-- and raised one of his feline eyebrows as best he could, considering it was a feline eyebrow rather than a human one. But it would do.

"Hello."

Aside from the sounds of crickets, everything was silent. He wasn't counting fireflies anymore. Instead, he was mentally counting any number of terrible things that could happen while he was out here all by himself. Why, why had he not invited someone to go with him tonight? Head spinning, he moved to sit down on his blanket to settle his nerves. And his heart leapt into his throat. A little scream managed to worm its way through, and he covered his eyes with his hands, leaving only a tiny crack as he looked in the direction of his attacker.
...his attacker that had said nothing but 'hello'. This was the second time he'd been frightened by a simple greeting, and it was the second time he had to remind himself that monsters would never say hello. They'd just eat him up, even in cases where they loved him too much. Through his fingers, he saw-
"Kitty! Hi, kitty!" Thrilled, he reached out to pet the cat, completely neglecting the fact that no other cat had ever said hello to him.

Silence was relative. Abel could hear the slow movements of cars sneaking through the night, the sound of a barely-there breeze rustle the leaves on the nearby trees. He could hear the boy's breathing, the sound of his own paws against the grass. Abel cocked his head at the blue haired boy, the little scream almost endearing in a way, with the way slender fingers covered his face--

and then the student was petting him.

"Aughh! Stop that--!" He made a sour expression, and felt as though his feathers had been ruffled, which really he was not okay with, he was a Guardian Cat!-- but the cool fingers did feel nice against his ears, his folded over ears perking just the tiniest bit against the petting.

"MrrrrRrRr-- We need to taAaAlllk, young one."

His serious tone was, perhaps, a little tarnished by the purring.

Laughing contentedly, Pasha didn't stop petting him until the cat demanded that they have a talk. Even still, his fingertips rested gently against the cat's black fur, and he frowned, confused.

"Kitty, why are you talking to me? I mean, I'll be happy to talk to you! But I think you guys are s'posed to keep it a secret that you can talk. At least that's how it goes in the movies." His voice was more and more hushed as he progressed, as if he were worried that other cats might be around to hear that this one had done the wrong thing.

He might have had every intention of listening to what the talking cat had to say, as requested, but his thoughts wandered to how it might be if he came home with him. Trinket was still a small kitty - maybe they could get along, and this one could teach him how to talk! It would be fun, the three of them, and he wouldn't ever be bored again. Ever.
