It really depends on personal taste. I'm a girl and I do tend to like Pianos more. I dunno I guess it's a bit more subtle and it's harder to find someone who can really put emotion to it. As a bonus I think, it's not like guys who just want to look cool and get easy girls to have sex with them, can lug around a piano either. (you know the ones. They can't really play but having a guitar just makes them appear sexier than guys without one)
So the ones that play piano and are good at it. Come of as more mature too I think. The are usually quieter and artsy people too.
Plus, band nerds are hot.

I play both.
Personally, I like the guitar better. The fact that I can carry it and play it when ever I desire makes it such a great instrument. A lot of people also seem to appericate guitar players a lot more.
The piano is a bit different. I really didn't have the hand build for it and it requires a rather tedious amount of constant practice sitting in one spot. Most of the pianist I have met are twice the musicians then half the guitarists I've met. The sad fact is not a whole lot of people really appericaite them because there sitting in the back constantly reading notes and watching there hands.

I personally prefer the sound of a piano. Though guitars aren't bad, piano wins. Larger range, easier to lear, more songs, electric one have more sounds, I think they're more elegant.

Well, my two favorite genres of music are Metal and Classical. Guitar is present in both styles, while piano is only prevelent in Classical (unless you count keyboard.) So, personal prefrence says guitar is more face melting and awesome.
However, I'll take it to more of a musical standpoint. Pianos cover a larger range than a guitar by a few octaves, and are more important to the history of music (being a classical instrument) than a guitar. However, guitar is a more difficult instrument to learn and master. On a piano, a white key to a white key is a whole step, and a black key to a white key or vice versa is a half step. On guitar, each fret progressed is another half step up the neck. So (For the key of A), you would just hit A, B, C#, D#, E, F#, G#. Just a bunch of white and black keys. On guitar, that same thing would be (on the A-string by fret number) 0, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11. It's a little more difficult to master, and (opinion) looks more elegant when mastered. Musically, I find the two comparable. No instrument is really better than any other. With the exception of the kazoo. It only hits a few notes, but I sure do love the kazoo. The only thing I like more is the cowbell. All songs need more cowbell. mrgreen

I like piano because it's more straightfoward. G is this key, E is that key, and (for me) it's easier to keep a beat.

THAT'S THE HARDEST QUESTION I HAD TO ANSWER ALL DAY!!! I play both instruments, how ironic for this question. I love both equally. I play classical music on the piano, which I love to play, and I love playing rock and alternative on the guitar. I absolutely canNOT choose between the two, I've loved both equally all my life.
