Nyx: Youngest Princess of Astra The night was cool and the King had called the city of Dru-Kai to assembly, his guards and magistrates going door to door and ushering people out of their homes. Rumors went around that the King had a proclamation to make that would split the city in ways and thoughts. As all were ushered through the city, as were the royalty escorted through the castle and onto the dais-ed balcony. Each were sat in their respective seats with a personal guard behind each. When the King called an assembly instead of just sending out his magistrates to post the news, it was serious and many people would disagree with him.
Sitting in her chair on the days, back straight and chin high, Nyx looked out over the crowd as it gathered. Seeing the signal from a guard to the King, she watched her father stand. And it begins, she thought to herself. As the King spoke to his people, she let her mind wander to earlier that day. Her eldest brother and her father had been locked away in the meeting room, she really wondered what they had been discussing and if it had anything to do with this gathering. "... And so I have gathered you all here this evening to tell you the new law that has passed: From here on out, all magic shall be outlawed. Anyone caught using or performing magic will be imprisoned and put to death..." Nyx had looked up at her father as he spoke, her eyes wide with shock. She couldn't believe what he had just done. He had just condemned his youngest daughter to death.
As the King dismissed his subjects, Nyx left the dais, telling her father and siblings she was retiring to her rooms. Upon getting there, she sent a message containing a warning not to do anything with her personal guard to the barman in town, a close friend of hers she's known her whole life. Packing few clothes, her weapons and a necklace she was given from her mother before she died. Leaving her room, she made her way down the back ways, cloaked and hooded as a servant going out for the night as guards were coming up to take her to her father and put her under arrest. She was stopped once on her way out by a guard that happened to have magic in him as well that yelled up and told the men to open the gates, it was a servant. She wormed her way through back alleys and through the back door of the bar where her friend got the letter and was giving her a place to hide and sleep.~Indiscriminate time passed~ Nyx awoke as the shades in her temporary room were thrown open to reveal the day time sun."Damn!" she said, covering her eyes and curling up under the blankets. "What was that for?!" she growled at the assailant. Sitting up, she slowly let the blankets fall away and her eyes to blink in the bright light. There was a servant waiting to clean the room. "Alright, alright, I'm getting up." Slipping out of the bed she let the servant help her dress and picked up her things, leaving the young girl do her job. Making her way down the stairs, she stopped in the kitchens and grabbed a small loaf of bread and an apple and sat in the secluded kitchen. The home was tucked into the back corner on the far east side, secluded compared to where her friend worked. Her friend had set her up in their home, making sure she knew her way around enough that she wouldn't be seen through any windows.

Marcus Natali" Good to see out beloved princess up and about."
From the side door stepped Marcus. With shining red hair and intelligent green eyes, he smiled at the princess, making his way to the cabinet. His posture told of someone who had been out and about since the long hours of the night. Ever since she had come to his tavern, he had been investigating the events that had taken place.
" Fine mess of things this is.." He muttered almost to himself, filling his wooden cup with a whiskey that was good in waking up the sleepless. Taking, a swig, he grimaced, rubbing his eyes, bags apparent. " Not even a full week, and the streets are covered with this new Order of Light. Order of Light," He scoffed, running his hands through his hair. " More like a lynch mob filled with fanatics.."

Sabine -o- Winters• • • "Up! Get up!" A hoarse voice yelled from outside the dark wood door. A groan came from the bed as the blankets were tossed off. What time was it? "Unless you're paying for another night I expect you to be out of here in 10 minutes."
Sabine let her head flop back down in the pillows as the sound of shoes brushing over a wood surface led down the hall. What had she done last night? The young girl ran a hand through her soft grey coloured hair, as she turned over and stepped out of bed.
"Well... there are no strange men... or women in here, and I'm still clothed, so nothing that bad must have happened." She said aloud, stretching her arms above her head smiling a she heard the familiar crack of her back.
She sighed and shook her body out before looking around the room for her shoes. Last night... had been one hell of a night. She didn't remember all of it... but it consisted of drinking, laughing, dancing and singing. But it was like that every year... every year since her father had been killed. She shook her head trying to get the bad thoughts from her mind, before she left the pub. She needed to be on the move again... go somewhere, hide out. The Guards were on their way searching the town and she'd never give up her magic.
"'Oi! I said get up!" The voice called again, the sound of her fist banging on the door ringing through Sabine's ears in one of the worst ways. God this was going to be one hell of a day.

𝕯𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝕬𝖓𝖌𝖊𝖑━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Curling up into a tighter ball in her small bed, a groan echoed throughout her room. Pulling the covers further over her head, Lynda heard a hard knock on her bedroom door. Grumbling something about being up, she became aggravated when another knock followed. "Get your lazy bum up!" Called a voice through the door. Sighing the young woman climbed out of her bed, making her way tiredly towards the door. Upon opening she was expecting to see her older brother, but her eyes met nothing by the wall. Blinking her eyes a few times, Lynda sighed, rubbing them hoping that would return her back to reality.
Finally coming to terms with her past for the day, Lynda closed the door of her room, not yet wanting to travel through the empty halls. Walking across her room ,she threw open the binds over her window, allowing a flood of light to engulf her dark room. Squinting her eyes, waiting for them to adjust, she leaned over the window seal. Seeing some fellow soldiers under her, she waved, drawing attention to her form. "Well good day our angel," called one of Lynda's close friends. Grinning from ear to ear, the young woman shook her head gently. "How many times must I tell you not to call that?" She giggled, yet silently wishing he truly wouldn't call her such, the name reminding her of her past.

Nyx: Youngest Princess of Astra Nyx rolled her eyes and gave a deep and guttural laugh. "Ha, beloved, only to you Marcus, only to you," she said with a smile, her voice softening some. "Besides, Princess is probably not a title you want to throw around right now, someone could over hear and get the idea what she is actually staying here." Looking up at him, she frowned, noting that he was in the same clothes he had worn yesterday, all worn with the signs that they hadn't been changed or washed, but been worn for a long period of time.
"You were out all night," she stated and grimaced as he took a swig of whiskey. "I am not surprised. With my brother and father behind it that it's spread like wild fire. They were probably recruiting like we were. We knew he was going to do something, and killing hundreds of people is not past his power." Taking another bite of her apple and slicing the bread, she offered some to her friend. "Sit down Marcus and eat, we will both need our strength to get through this. I would expect my fathers people to be going door to door looking for me, no doubt they will start here. It's no secret that we are friends and my brother knows me well."

Marcus NataliMarcus took another swig, popping the cork back in with a pained sound. He hated having to drink that. Give him a good ale any day. " Well, hopefully i bought us a day or two. I spread the rumor that your hiding in the theater district, and god knows how many nooks and crannies are there..."
The young man sat down with a weary expression, taking the offered meal with a slight smile. The combination of the weeks events, the nightly excursions, and the shock of it all seemed to way heavily on the studious wizard. He didn't tell her, but he had almost been seen by guards last knight, and he had sprained his wrist trying to hide. Marcus didn't want Nyx to worry. Especially not right now.
" What kind of friend would i be, if you were not beloved?" ]He chuckled softly, eating some of the bread with his good hand. " But you are right. Still, it feels odd, not calling you that anymore."

Iliad looked around, he was standing atop one of the building deep in the theatre district. "What I'm doing is really the most patriotic thing I could do." He told himself and a few birds. "A war between the Order of Light and the princess would be horrible for the nation, it would divide us like, well, it would divide us the same way wealth does, and nobody wants that." He cracked his back, as he started to walk along the roof. "Not only that but it would be costly on both fronts, taxes go up, people get poorer..." He sighed, "Not to mention all the blood shed, so many lives lost, both sides just doing what they think is right." Iliad shook his head, ran a few steps and jumped from one roof to the other. "If the princess was as patriotic as I was, she would know that her death would result in the most peaceful outcome, sure all magic dies but hell, they can leave, or give it up, no ones MAKING them do magic, they choose to break the law." He smiled, "Like me. My saving grace however is that I'm good at what I do, I can find the princess, and take her back to the castle, that will deffinatly get me some kind of reward."Iliad ruffled his hair, looking down into the streets of the Theatre district. In truth Iliad had chose no side but his own, but when he heard that the princess was in this part of town he figured he might as well give it a shot. True, he could always try his luck at getting the king and prince and bringing them to Princess Nyx, but that seemed just a tinge bit more difficult. Iliad smiled as a gust blew through his hair. It was early in the morning, he figured that people would be just waking up now, giving him precious little time to continue his search of the district. "Have to hand it to her though, she picked one hell of a spot to hide, this place is a maze, even for a pro like me." He folded his arms and looked over the side, a dark alley way, even in the early morning sun. "Why not." He said as he jumped off the building, landing in the alley. The jump was high enough to break most people's bone, maybe even kill them, but Iliad knew a trick, rolling. By rolling he distributed all the downward force across the surface of his body for less than a second per part, negating the energy and allowing Iliad to walk away unharmed. Iliad stood up and looked around, not seeing anything out of the ordinary. He walked to the far end of the alley and sighed, "Guess I was wrong, and this is the last damn nook in this place, guess they were thinking ahead and placed false rumors." Just then Iliad turned and saw a man in a black hooded coat. They stared at one another for a second before the man turned tail and ran away. "Like hell I'm wrong, I'm never wrong..." Iliad muttered to hiimself as he gave chase. The man was a speedy, not able to match Iliad's speed but good enough, plus with a crowd starting to form in the early morning streets Iliad knew he would catch up; the man didn't know the city like he did. The man was trying to cut through people, pushing people down and out of the way to make it through, Iliad chose a higher road, literally. Seeing a nicely placed stack of crates Iliad bounded up them and grabbed a hold of a window sil. Using it he pulled himself up and began climbing the side of the building. Making it up he looked down and saw the man still running. Iliad followed easilly, waiting for the man to calm down and lead him right to his prey. After a few minutes the man slowed and began to walk easilly, Iliad smiled, "Like candy from a baby..." He said, jumping from building to building to corner him. Just as the man ducked down an alley way Iliad leaped from his vantage point high atop a building and broke his fall on the man. Iliad had his dagger to the man's throat, though that was the least of his problems. Iliad could tell he broke the man's... something. "What you running for mister?" He asked with a devil's grin. "I'm sorry, I don't have it, tell him I just don't have it right now!" The man wailed, catching Iliad off guard. "What the hell are you talking about?" He asked, "Arn't you a messenger for the princess?" The man looked confused, "What no, do I look like a magician?" Iliad sighed and pulled back his dagger, though he still had the man pinned. "So why did you run?" He asked, "Why did you chase me?!" The man shot back. Iliad smiled, "Touche, but you fail to see I'm still the one with the upper hand, I would like some answers." The man nodded, "Alright, I... I owe a dangerous man money, I thought you were here to kill me." Iliad sighed and stood up. "I probably should, then bring back proof and claim a reward for you're life, but I'm feeling generous, plus you're not who I want... go." Iliad sighed and walked out of the alley into the eastern side of the city, leaving the man to mend his broken bones. "Oh well, better luck next time I guess..." Iliad thought as he walked down the street, disappearing into the crowd of people. [Guess I have to post in gold since SOMEONE took my normal gray color...]

Sabine -o- Winters• • • ((Hey... you know what? Shhh. That's right... can't think of a comeback right now, but you check your inbox for a doosie! haha, sorry, Big Bang Theory Quote... god I love that show))
Sabine grumbled a she walked out of the pub, the old woman's shrieks still ringing in her ears. Her head was pounding and the freaking sun shining as bright as it was so early made her groan. As she walked down the street through the crowd of people, she felt herself being nearly mowed down by someone. She bumped right into the front of him, letting out a small squeak as they fell and tumbled back onto the road. She found her body pressed against his as she looked down into his face.
Blond hair... blue eyes and a smirk that told her that she had just run into a playboy of some kind.
"Get your mind out the gutter, nothing is gonna happen."
She pushed herself up and held out a hand to help him up. He didn't reek of the Order of Light, but then again, she couldn't really tell who was and who wasn't. Only certain faces made her cringe and run.

Iliad looked was walking through a crowd of people doing his best to not bump into too many people and get noticed, the less people who knew his face the better. While turning sharply to avoid an elderly man Iliad felt the familiar force of round and well proportioned breasts bumping into his chest. The force at which they collided caused them both to stumble a bit, and fall back into the road. He smirked at the little squeky yell she made, which was just now registering in his brain, First thought is cute. Iliad thought quickly before he looked up and seen the face of a beautiful young woman, with a circlet around her head. Damn, I'm always right, I should write a book about it, I'll call it Iliad's Guide to Everything He Think He Knows, maybe something shorter. Iliad smirked and looked past her face down to the rest of her body, Hills in the front, nice thin waist, and what an a**, yup, she is worthy. Just then she read his mind and stood up, hand out ready to help him up. "Now, now, lets not be so quick to draw conclusions about people," He said, taking her hand and acting as if he was talking about the gutter part of her statement, "I might be able to make it happen, I already got you ontop of me, that usually takes a couple of drinks, so if you ask me I'm making good time here." He stood up and kissed her hand, Too much, maybe, but probably the closest I'll get with her... Unless I try a little bit. He thought looking into her eyes, smirk dancing along his lips as he let go of her hand and stood up straight. "Speaking of drinks, I would love to buy you some, it's the least I can do for making you fall." He said, a chivalristic as possible, and Iliad was a pro at more than just being a thief, so he sounded like a true lady's man. "What do you say, if nothing else you're getting free drinks, and the pleasure of breaking another mans heart." He said lifting a fat wallet. The very same wallet used to belong to the man he chased around earlier, For a man in debt he sure has a fat wallet, I guess he really is screwed now. Iliad smiled, I'm gonna say she thinks about it, tries to convince herself to say no, then caves in under my masculine charm and agrees to go get some drinks. Iliad waited until his prediction came true.

Sabine -o- Winters• • • Sabine stepped back as soon as they were standing, and placed her hands on her hips. She raised an eyebrow as he said that he had already got her on top of him. That's when she felt him kiss her hand. Oh so now he was being a gentleman. Well, the first impressions said everything. Might as well have some fun with this while she could. She fluttered her eyes and stepped into him biting her lower lip in a playful, flirty manner.
"Too bad it's bullshit unless I'm naked."
She tapped his cheek with her fingers before brushing past him and walking down the road. She stopped mid step and turned around when he asked her to go for a drink.
"Sorry, I'm still hungover, and if I come anywhere near alcohol right now, something other then my body will be covering you."
She smirked and winked before turning back around. Interesting. Sure he seemed overly confident, and flirtatious... but he was still interesting. She was sure that she could knock him down with her magic, but after the last time which caused her to drink, she wasn't so sure she wanted to try. AS she walked she wondered if he'd chase her, still try and persuade her to join him somewhere. Really the idea of human contact sat in the back of her mind for a while, and he had cash to spend, but she enjoyed being on her own. Right now... she had to find somewhere else to hide before the guards caught onto her trail.

Iliad was shocked, Huh, guess I'm wrong. He put his new wallet in his back pocket and took a few steps in the opposite direction before his pride boiled over, You going to take that, she blew you off like you were a red light district whore, you should run up to her, strip her nude and take her in the street in front of the whole crowd, just to prove you can!! Iliad nodded in agreement with himself and spun on his heels. He ran a few quick paces until he caught up with her. He ran around ahead of her, not directly infront of her, he found it annoying when people blocked your way, but to the side of her, in her sight, but she could continue walking right on by, "Look, I'm sorry, I think we might have gotten off on the wrong foot there." His voice sounded earnest. "Lets try this for an introduction, Hi, my name is Iliad and I would love to take you out for breakfast, on me, and all I want in return is to know who you are?" He asked putting his hand out for a handshake, a smile on his face that could warm up even a fridged heart, he would know, he practiced it enough. Now if this doesn't work I'll knock her over the head and drag her back to the hut cave man style... He thought, only half joking, chuckling to himself inwardly.

Sabine -o- Winters• • • Sabine heard the sound of shoes on cobblestones behind her making her roll her eyes again. If he was just going to spit some line at her again, she'd really show him what she could do. She glanced to the side and saw him rush past her before turning to face her. She stopped and sighed, an annoyed look on her face. She was going to open her mouth and say something when he said that they had gotten off on the wrong foot. She chuckled. Quite literally to be honest. She saw his hand, and shifted her mouth off to the side, before taking it and giving it a shake.
"Nice to meet you Iliad. My name though, is on a need to know basis and you unfortunately don't need to know. At least not right now. However, if you're suggesting breakfast and are willing to pay with the stack of cash you have in your back pocket, then lets go. I might be hungover, but I sure as hell wouldn't pass up a meal."
She smirked, and looked off to the side when the sound of scuffling feet reached her ears. She looked over the crowd and felt her face pale. Guards.
"Come on..." She said taking his arm and pulling him down the street. "I know a place that's good for a meal."

Iliad smiled wider as she took his hand, Check... and Mate... He thought to himself. He would have been happier if he got her name, though he was used to sleeping with girls whose name he didn't know, the character he was playing worked better when the girl was cooperating. "Need to know huh?" He asked with a smile. He almost closed his eyes but was happy he didn't because he saw he look away and pale. Iliad shot a lightning quick glance over in the direction she was looking and looked back at her, smiling again. From what he could tell the only thing over there that might get her worked up would be the Royal Guards. No, no way, she couldn't be a rebel... Iliad smiled, Need to know basis, running away from guards, plus she looks like a warrior, though that last one is just my opinion... it all adds up. Iliad felt himself being tugged away from the area and happilly followed, keeping up the ruse. This act just got a whole lot more interesting... He thought to himself. He let himself be dragged for a few more yards before saying, "Woa, woa, calm down there tiger, whats the rush, do you really want to rid yourself of me so bad?" He asked with a small chuckle. Slowing his speed to a calm walk he looked around, "So where is this place of yours, Ms. Need to Know?" He asked with a smile.

Sabine -o- Winters• • • She glanced back over her shoulders and saw that the guards were walking her way. She panicked, and took Iliad's hand before darting down one of the alley ways. She found a corner that was nice and dark and in her haste, pushed herself against him to keep the two of them out of sight. She placed her hand over his mouth to keep him from talking as her silver eyes watched the road. Few people walked by like nothing had happened, but then she saw the Guards. She sucked in a breath as one peered down the alley before shaking his head and walking off.
"Damn kids..." She heard him mutter.
She stayed like that for a while, wanting to make sure they were really gone before she pushed herself off of him and slid down the brick wall behind her. She did not have time for scares like this, and her head for once was agreeing with her. The throbbing alone made her want to just go find a place to stay. She let out the breath she was holding before letting her head fall against her chest.
"Thank God..."
