 WHY ME! Called the little demon inside Alease's brain. She was here at the swimming baths with floats and a bright pink swimming costume. On her list of things to do in her life was to learn how to swim however now it came to it she was scared. She was too shy to ask for help and she could not ask her Best friend. I mean... he would laugh and be too lazy to even try and help. She stood at the deep end looking into the water, the pool was quiet, she chose a time no one would see her and make a joke of it. Very early Wednesday morning. She froze and gulped. Man it looked deep.... and cold.... maybe today was not the day... hehe.... Wimp.

It was a lovely Wednesday morning, and Yvette had finished yet another fashion concoction. She wanted to wear the outfit proudly, but her lack of confidence prevented her from doing such. Yet, the dark haired girl needed to test the functionality of her outfit as well. Since the outfit was made for water activities, the only place she needed to go was the pool. With her towel wrapped around her body, she had walked over to the pool. It shouldn't be too hard. Get in the pool, swim a few laps to see if the bathing suit fell apart or not, then get out. The hour was perfect, since if she had to deal with the misfortune of her bathing suit falling apart, then nobody would witness any revealed naughty bits. As she neared the pool, Yvette was quite surprised to find something brightly colored hanging out by the edge of the pool. Was that...? No, it couldn't be Alease! Yvette couldn't help but admire the adorable swimsuit the girl was wearing, but she did so in silence as she approached. " Are you trying to get some early morning swimming in before the swim team comes by for practice?" she asked in a friendly, but very quiet voice.

((oh god this RP so needs to end with the swim team flooding in and these two running xD))
"Yer... I dont know yet. I have never been swimming before.... it seems.... erm... different"
It was the only way she could put it. She was scared of what she did not know and even more so drowning, it did not seem a nice way to go. Thus the huge floats attached to her shoulder. She knew she was safe with them, even though jumping in was a whole different story. Then it hit her someone was here. Unless she was hearing things.
She turned around to see Yvette as she stared at the pool turning her head fast. She was so pretty, she always was and even though she felt no physical attraction to her, she had always admired her. Oh god what was she going to think of her? I mean it was not often you saw a 16 year old that was scared of water...

(Indeed... and maybe some bathing suit FAIL on Yvette's part xd )
Yvette had a pretty big heart for helping people out. It was actually somewhat admirable of this girl to share her problem straight off rather than hide back (like she herself did so frequently). With a soft smile, Yvette made an offer in her equally as soft voice.
"Never been swimming before? If you'd like, I can help you a bit... if you'd like?" She paused and looked at the water on the side of the pool which the blonde had been hanging out at.
As a word of wisdom, she added quietly "Though I think we should start on the shallow end..." The last thing that Yvette needed to be responsible for was a girl drowning on her watch. Casually, she removed her towel from around her and hung it on the fence. Yvette's swimsuit was a nice pastel purple color. It was a two piece, the top looking like it was just cloth that was bunched up and tied around in one thick strip that went over her right shoulder. The bottom piece looked like your average bathing suit bottom, but with two ties on her hips.
With a smile, she signaled for Alease to follow her. "Come on, let's get in the water at least!"

Before Alease could protest Yvette was already signalling her to follow her. She guessed it was okay. I mean it was only Yvette she seemed nice enough but she could not say she knew her too well so. Lets just hope this did not go horribly wrong. She gulped and followed her a little embarrassed that she needed help but at the same time, she had no pride to swallow. So it was easy to be another student.
"That's a nice swim suit did you buy it? I mean I make my own stuff. Do not wear it much though..."
She said in a very quiet voice trying to make conversation but at the same time feeling a bit uncomfortable with it. She was looking at the floor biting her lip, she was not too forward with talking to people. Thus why she spent most of her time on her own. Although she would like to make one or two more friends.

The dark haired girl sat herself down on the edge of the pool, dipping her feet into the water. She grit her teeth slightly because the water was a tad cold, but she needed to get into the water. It was about this time that her momentary student offered her compliment. Yvette's cheeks burned deeply as she tried to hide her embarrassment with a small smile.
"Oh, um... no... I...I made it myself..." she managed to stutter out in her quiet voice. She now started to crumble under the pressure a bit and seemed to be attempting to cover herself up a bit again. Obviously if this girl thought she had bought the swimsuit, that meant it looked cheap and tacky. Leave it to Yvette to over analyze the situation.
In hopes of calming herself, she patted the spot next to her and invited Alease to join her, "Come and dip your feet in the water... I-it'll take some time to get used to it..."

"Okay then." She smiled and putting her feet in the water the moment she did gasping. "Hell that is so cold." she shivered. She HATED being cold it was the one thing she could not stand. Especially the cold. Then she turned back to Yvette trying to ignore the cold water cuddling her feet.
"Wow thats so cool, its suits you well. I like it" She stated before looking at the little ripples in the water. She wondered what she would look like in something like that. Then again she would not have the confidence, she was so concious about the shape of her body, that was probably the reason she had never come swimming before. Cos of what the people had said to her, calling her fat and ugly. Man she hated some people, however Yvette was being very understanding at the moment, however she had the feeling she had said something wrong.
"So was that your 'gift' design? that seems cool." She stated looking over again with a small smile, she was still looking down slightly, avoiding eye contact.

Some people might have called Yvette's mindset "modest," but in reality, it was just the lack of confidence she had that tended to reject most compliments.
"Oh no! I-it isn't that good... I did get accepted to this school because of my designs, b-but, it really isn't that special..." Her voice, which already had been quite quiet to begin with seemed to shrink down to the point of being silent. Shyly, she looked back up to the other girl.
Back in her room, she had been confident that this would have been the best time to test her swimsuit. Now she was second guessing herself. Should she warn poor Alease that there was a strong chance that the outfit would get undone and she'd see more of Yvette than she really wanted to see? Should she just risk the chance that her swimsuit wouldn't fall apart like several of her other attempts prior?
Not certain as to what she should do, she instead slipped her body into the water, her feet reaching the bottom, allowing her to stand waist-deep in water. Even though she wanted to point out that yes, the water was cold, the dark haired girl's voice had somewhat dried up in the back of her throat for now.

Alease looked at Yvette seeing her feet could touch the bottom. So she decided to join her in standing, she knew if she did not go in all at once she would refuse to she she just pushed herself in her head going under then with a scream coming back up.
"HOLY- hmm. Thats cold." She stated spitting out some water and hugging her arms together in a attempt to comfort herself. Well at least that was the worst of it over. She just needed to imagine this was a nice warm bath... yes thats right a nice warm bath.
She then looked over at Yvette with a small twitching smile.
"Are you okay you seem quiet? And thats coming form a girl who wont talk to more than one person at a time, even that as a huge change, so yeah. Is there something bothering you. I am a good listener." she gave a comforting smile getting used to her company.

"I, ummm... uh..."
One of the worst things you could do was point out noticing how quiet Yvette was. If there had been more people around, it would have been like shouting out "HEY LOOK, SHE'S BEING A FREAK AGAIN, LET'S ALL LOOK AT HER." In reality, it wasn't that bad, but considering how much Yvette tended to double think everything, she felt it was that bad.
To be honest, there was never a good way of bringing up the fact you might be getting more naked during a visit to the pool.
"Uh... don't worry about it..." she finally managed to squeak out. A nervous smile spread across her tiny lips as she patted the water slightly, causing it to splash a bit. "You said you never swam before, right? What do you know about swimming? Have you looked up any strokes?"

"Not really, I used to take my brother, just watched, I just kind of threw him in the pool, he splashed about a little and by some kind of magic. He floated. Kind of sucks when your little sibling can do things you can not."
She stated with a small nod finally getting used to the water temperature. She could tell that Yvette was nervous for some reason but she would not pry. She did not want to offend her or stick her nose where it was not wanted. She was okay with it though and would not hold it against her at all. I mean everyone has there secretes.
"To be honest I did not know there was more to it than that. There is different ways? which one do you like best?"

There was a heavy 'plunk' from the water by the sloping stairs that led into the shallow end of the pool. Yvette and Alease had had their backs to it - and if they turned around, there would be nothing to be seen. The water had churned up a little bit, but that could just been from splashing. There was no mistaking they'd heard something, though.

Slowly, the dark haired girl began to let her body sink into the water some more, her skin getting little goosebumps all over. She was about to reply to her companion and student's questions when the sound of something splashing into the water hit her ears. It sounded almost like another student swiftly jumping into the water.
Her deep purple eyes glanced over to where she heard the sound, but there was nothing there. Thinking that maybe someone jumped in and now was underwater, waiting to pull a prank, she glanced at the water, hoping to maybe see some sort of distorted reflection.
"Uh-uh..." she stuttered out slightly, "Th-there are lotsa d-different strokes... most people learn th-the freestroke..." Her voice paused, then it nervously seemed to whimper out "D-d-did you hear that just now?"

Alease tilted her head and turned around.
"Yeah I have to say. I heard something just now too. You know though this room does echo and the pool is being constantly filtered, there is no one here dont worry about it... to be honest I chose this time... because I did not want anyone to see me practise... although I am glad that... you found me. I mean you are helping a lot. Anyways should we continue?"
She asked clapping her hands together happy that the water was not as scary as she originally thought.

Plunk, plunk, plunk, SPLASH.
This time there were several sounds of things dropping into the water, punctuated by a visible splash on the last one and the brief sight of something long and thin and shiny like a sheaf of aerodynamic silver paper go whirling away into the deep water. It brushed against Yvette's leg as it passed, with the texture of sandpaper.
