It was that time of day again, midday on Saturday. Where no one had nothing to do at all and more so, no one could be bothered to anything. Alease however needed to go out shopping for supplies for her textiles class. She did not mind it much but marching around a busy shopping center was not her idea of a good time. She sighed and walked on her arms folded as people walked passed her blankly, then a though came, if she was to disappear right now. Would anyone even notice she was gone?

She shock her her, that was a depressing thought she did not want clouding her mind, she was shopping after all she was meant to be happy. You know what would make her happier ice-cream. With a snap of her fingers she went over to the little van paying the guy and taking one, however before she could even step two feet to the bench she felt herself come to a sudden stop. Looks like she had walked into someone.... great.

"Erm.... Sorry?"

Automatically reaching out to steady whoever had bumped into him, Gray blinked, recognizing Alease instantly. They hadn't been hanging out very much lately - his fault, like it always was, because he was never motivated enough to go find his friends for a little down time - but that didn't mean he wasn't happy to see her. Heck, he'd been about to buy a creamsicle himself, so they could spend a little time chatting and catching up.

"Hey, Alease." He grinned at her, his smile slow and full, before patting her shoulder. "You should be careful. You almost lost your ice cream."

Looking past her, he saw the line was very short, and said, "Just a second." before going to purchase his ice cream. He paid with a five, and tipped the rest of it away, a habit that was constantly making his dad palm his face and mutter about how his eldest son was going to end up naked and penniless under a bridge.

The thought made him want to snicker, but he dismissed it. He'd never be that way, not as long as he could spin fire. People were pretty generous for a street performer, too, so if worst came to worst...

Taking a huge bite out of the top of his ice cream, he looked back at Alease, gesturing to the bench with his chin. By now, she'd understand the unspoken question - want to sit down and talk a bit? - because they'd been best friends for as long as he could remember.

"Meh, probably would have been for the best, the amount of sugar and fat in these things are horrendous. I am surprised they do not yet come with a health warn- Okay then in a moment."

She rolled her eyes. Then again she was used to him randomly going off as she twittered on. Then seeing his head gesture she went over and sat on the bench. Grayson was the only person she had ever really opened up to and in doing such she found nothing funner to complain and let out all of her problems.

"Meh, this concert is doing my head in. I can not play there is something on my mind. I dont know what. Women eh. Never straight forward. I mean so many people all looking at me. Oh god its another underwear moment isnt it. Remember when I choked 4 years back in the school play. The shame. I need a vacation, NO, I need a therapist."

She sighed taking a huge bite out of her ice-cream. It was good. Being bad and breaking diets where good, not when she had to go on stage in a dress though. That was baaaaaaad. <******** it! come on I am getting more holes in me. Maybe that will help, maybe yoooou will get something this time toooooooo?"

She asked. She was such a shy person... but there was something about him. She could be herself...

Gray didn't mind listening to Alease talk about her troubles. It was one of the benefits of being best friends, after all, and she was one of the few who put up with him, flaws and all. His parents had been hinting for some time that he ought to ask her out, and maybe he would, one day. He just didn't feel that way about her at the moment. Who knew if he ever would? It would only cause trouble and ruin a good friendship if they tried to pretend something was there that wasn't, and he didn't want to lose Alease as a friend.

All that was a minor worry, however. He didn't plan on doing anything one way or the other for a long time, so he was content to just drift along as they always had been. His pop liked to remind him that if he kept that philosophy he'd be the old man with a thousand cats, but Gray was pretty sure he was getting his metaphors mixed up. Either way, he was only seventeen, so he wasn't really worried.

Besides, as soon as he turned eighteen and got out of Barren Pines, he was either joining a group of traveling fire spinners, or he was joining a circus. Somehow, he was getting out there and doing a fire act. It was his calling, after all.

"You just need to relax a little, is all. Come over to my room if you feel stressed. You can always hang out, use the bed, whatever." It was a completely sincere offer, even though it was delivered in the most laid-back tone in the world. Gray had plans to buy some snacks and whatnot anyway, so he'd stock up on comfort food just in case she decided to stop by.

His door was always open for a friend, after all.

At the mention of piercings, one hand drifted up to his ear, fingering the star earring - his favorite. He thought about what else he'd get pierced, not really being fond of facial piercings, and shrugged.

"I'm not really looking for more piercings, but I'll probably get some work on my tat done soon. I need to make an appointment."

He placed his hand on his stomach, the gesture absent. He had a very complex tattoo that presently stretched across his stomach, chest, and shoulders. It wasn't finished by any means, but he only liked to do so much work at a time. It was expensive, for one, and for the other, it made him sore as hell. Not to mention, it wasn't exactly legal - he was just lucky that he was friends with a guy who worked at a shop, so he was able to sneak in here and there and get the work done.

His parents were cool with it, so it was no big deal.

"Maybe, however its s bugger sneaking into your room, then the comments I get from girls in my class. I mean it looks a little odd a girl sneaking into a guys room and of cause you are too lazy to come to mine, good thing really, the girls would eat you up Grayson and then I would be forced to beat them back and to be honest I am to lazy for that."

She stated totally taking the bed comment the wrong way however she knew what he was like and what sounded that was to her, was totally the opposite to what he meant. She was fine with that though. She was used to it and his little comments always cheered her up.

"Yeah the all famous tat I have heard so much about. I am still planning to be there to see you totally wimp out."

She smirked punching him in a playful way, she knew that he was not going to but it was nice to play around a little. She wondered after they left school where they going to be friends? I mean it was not too long now. If she was going to make a move it had to be soon... he probably was going to have some crazy plans... like joining the circus. She would not put it past him.

"I am running out of places to get pierced. I mean I am pretty coated. Hmm maybe my tongue... Hmm.... so anyway what brings you here today?"

Gray was used to her teasing him, and he was just as used to her joking about the other girls on campus apparently finding him ridiculously hot. He'd seen little evidence of this himself lately, though that could be because he spent much of his time either practicing his dance or chilling in his room, but the truth was, he really didn't go out of his way to garner attention. Sure, he liked being noticed, and sure, he liked knowing that others appreciated his looks, but he wasn't sure he wanted all the drama and obligations that came with dating.

Girlfriends were so high maintenance. They always wanted to hang out, do things together, didn't understand the need to just be by yourself or with some bros. His last one had even been jealous at his performances, saying he was dancing too provocatively for her tastes, and was getting too much attention from the girls.

Well. A performer wanted attention. She hadn't lasted long.

He chose to ignore the majority of what she said, instead focusing on her last question. That one was the least troublesome to respond to, right? And she'd heard his answers to the others about a million times before, anyway.

"I just wanted some time out. I've got to get some snacks for my room, and I wanted fresh air." He gave her a skeptical look, adding, "Your tongue will swell up to the size of a rhino's if you get it pierced, by the way."

"Hehe, and you would complain about me not being able to talk. I am surprised you would not want to shut me up. After all I am the annoying little sister you have never wanted but unfortunately got stuck with."

She stated her chin resting on her palm as she looked over with a small smirk. She thought it would look cool. She loved to go out and get something about her changed. A few weeks ago she went out and cut off all of her hair after all. To make the style she had now. THAT was a big change. She looked like a girl before, now they have to look twice to make up there minds, thus why she now wears a skirt. I guess it shows off her boots more too.

"So how is the whole fire dancing thing going? Have you learnt something new since the last time I came to see your act in the room."

She smiled, that was funny, up to the part she almost set the school on fire after playing with the things. HE TOLD HER NOT TO. She showed herself up so much around him but... she did not care at all. Maybe she should ask him to go see a movie with her tonight?

He didn't mind Alease's constant flow of chatter, and never had. Gray was very comfortable being the one who sat back and listened instead of contributing for the most part; he'd speak his piece when he wanted to, but generally, he didn't feel the need to say a whole lot. Actually, he and his brother were both quiet, though Tristan was more brooding about it than Gray was.

"You know I'm fond of you." It was said peacefully, and he took another bite of his creamsicle. It was melting a little at the bottom, so he licked just above his hand, amused that even when it wasn't that hot out, he still couldn't finish an ice cream before it started to melt.

At the mention of his act, his face lit up. It was one of the few things that could make the normally placid Grayson show obvious energy; his passion, and the thing that brought him the most joy.

"It's going well. I've got a performance soon - my own part, too. I've got this belly dancing act I've been working on." He grinned, bringing his arms up and gesturing wide. "I've got metal fans for the routine, and it's going to be awesome. You should come."

"I might need to check my schedule but I am sure I will be able to pencil you in. If you reeeally want me to come."

She chuckled and nodded. She had to admit the offer did sound very attractive she has always enjoyed seeing him preform and also it gave her a chance to get out and do something. Although she was a little peeved that she did not get her own 'private' showing like she usually did. Oh well! It would still be fun and was another excuse for them to get together and talk.

"Although I am expecting back stage passes and free entry" She joked, she knew he would know that she was. She just wanted to keep the mood light and happy since they had not seem each other around in a while.

"Hehe. So come on anything new gone on in your life? any gossip I should be caught up on?"
PostPosted: Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:32 pm

Alease was easy to talk to, and he liked that about her. She expected him to participate in the conversation, which got a little troublesome sometimes, but never enough to make him do anything about it. It was just her wanting to know what was going on in his life, and he couldn't blame her for that; he wondered about her, too. He'd just always been more of a listener than anything else.

"You know you're always welcome to show up and chat with us before the show, too." It was true enough - though Gray invited very few people to converse with him and the rest of the group before a performance, he made exceptions for a couple. "I'll let you know when the next show is."

Ice cream finished, he looked around for a garbage can, decided the nearest one was too far away. Instead, he set the popsicle stick on the bench next to him, fully intending to pick it up and throw it away when he got up once more.

"Nothing's really going on for me. Same old, same old, I guess." He didn't sound unhappy about it. "Still rocking the single world, avoiding homework, playing with fire. You?"

"Same old... however. I have started to make friends. I have met some amazing girls. I feel like I am settling down. However this guy called me a Skank because of my last name... jerk."

She pouted folding her arms and standing up, she hated it when people point that out. However she was proud of her second name and was proud of the person she was so. If they wanted to be so narrow minded then let them be!

"I would like it to see you before the show. I mean you still have to teach me how to spit fire. I have tried my best. I have been working on co-ordination... pleeeeeease. If I hurt myself its my own damn fault. I will teach you how to play the piano? Then again... after last time... might not be such a good idea. hehe.... flames... roof.... haha..... fire alarm! remember?"

A light frown settled on Gray's features when Alease talked about her last name. People could be so narrow-minded... it disappointed him often. Still, his best friend was a strong girl, and she had good friends who knew what she was really like. As long as you knew the truth about yourself - which he hoped, by now, Alease did - it didn't matter so much what others said about you.

It hurt, of course, and it would bother you. But you just had to learn to get past it. It was just college, right? They'd be out of there and into the real world in no time. While it wouldn't be 100% better, they wouldn't have to put up with so much of the same old things. No, there'd be an entirely new set of prejudices and subjects of mockery once they made the transition to adulthood.

Raising his eyebrows, he murmured, "I don't know if I can teach you to spit fire, Alease. You've got to be really careful. Really careful."

Grayson, himself, was always really careful. He never practiced indoors, for instance - and had been shocked and horrified enough to actually raise his voice when he'd found out Alease had. Fire was dangerous, period, and you didn't treat it lightly. He had a healthy respect for the element, and he just didn't think Alease did.

The last thing he wanted was to see her hurt, after all.

Expression clearing, he placed his hands on his knees, leaned back a bit to look at the sky. "But sure, come by before the show. It'll be fun."

"Well tell me when it is, you know where my room is. Anyways I should be getting back before that English witch kills me, to be honest I think I am already 10 minuets late so yeah. Sorry its been nice talking to you though. Maybe come visit me some time, we will sort something out."

She smiled as she looked at him with a small smile before giving a little bow. She really did not want to go but however lessons called, she should have not come into town. She knew she had extra English on Saturdays even though she hated it. I mean its a weekend she was meant to relax no matter how bad her grades are, however the school did not think so.

She jumped forward and gave him a small hug before she went running down the path looking back and waving.
