Name: Grayson Graves

Nicknames: GrayUser Image

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Birthday: July 29

Sign: Leo

Blood Type: O-

Fav. Food: Hot dogs, loaded. As in, everything you've got at the stand, he'll put on his dog.

Hated Food: Chocolate, except for white chocolate. That's all right, but he especially hates dark chocolate.

School: Meadowview

Hobbies:

Fire Spinning: Gray has been playing with fire since before his parents thought he was old enough, that's for sure. At first, they just considered him a pyro, and threatened to rip his skin off if he went down to the wood stove and poked around again. When he was about ten, a group of fire spinners came through town, dancing and twirling staffs and torches to music. He was absolutely enthralled, and ever since then, pleaded with his parents to be allowed to take up the art himself. They refused until they learned he was trying to do it on his own anyway - resulting in one very frightening trip to the ER - and after that, they agreed to allow him to learn how from a professional. Since then, he's never looked back, and has been in several performances. It's the one thing in his life he takes absolutely seriously, and as soon as he turns eighteen, he's joining a group and getting the hell out of dodge. Possibly a circus. Whatever, he's getting out there, and he's spinning fire.

Music: Grayson loves music. He unashamedly loves music. He will sing Get Another Boyfriend without batting an eye, and he hopes you sing along too. He has a wide range of music on his iPod, and he's glad that was one of the things Tristan didn't smash to pieces. He likes singing as well as dancing to music, though he has no talent for composing or playing an instrument; he does have a decent enough voice, though. Nothing really amazing, but he wouldn't be booed off a karaoke stage.

Sleeping: It's a hobby, okay. He's always trying to fall asleep. If he has nothing else to do, he's probably sleeping. While Grayson won't mind too much if you wake him up and get him to do something, chances are, if you don't know what he's doing and you haven't seen him for upwards of an hour, he's asleep somewhere. Usually in his bed, though he's slept through classes more than once in the past.

Writing: No, Grayson won't be writing a bestseller anytime soon. All his writing he does in - okay, he's not embarrassed - a diary. Though it doesn't have much of actual use, and he's careful to keep senshi exploits out of it, the diary does detail many things about the others, though only in reference to their civilian names. In particular, there's a large section on Jude Lawson, because honestly, Sometimes he just doesn't know what to do with you, Jude.

Virtues:

Brave: Danger to life and limb? Is fire involved? Things that really shouldn't excite him do, and he doesn't bat an eye at the prospect of doing something where he might really get hurt. It's the rush of adrenaline (one might even go so far as to say he's an adrenaline junkie) involved in doing things that others would consider too dangerous to even attempt. There's also the, you know, cool factor that comes along with it, but mostly, he thrills in taking risks and coming out on top, especially if he's helping people. This is the kid who will run into a burning building because the firemen haven't arrived yet and someone's still inside. He shines brightest when he has someone to defend, someone to protect; here is when he is at his bravest.

Cautious: Just because he likes risky business doesn't mean he isn't careful about it. The part that no one hears about is that Gray does extensive research on the brave and daring things he does, and he's careful. There's some element of unpredictability in everything, of course, but Gray would like to live to a ripe old age, so he's smart about the incredibly stupid things he does. He won't rush headlong into the fray, throwing all caution to the wind in the pursuit of protecting someone, but he will do the very best he can to make sure that the damage to you -- and him -- is minimized. It's just, he will take calculated risks. If someone has to get hurt, in the end, he'd rather it be him.

Generous: He'll give you the shirt off his back and the five in his pocket if you need it for bus fare. He'll split his lunch fifty-fifty even if he's super hungry that day. Have a fight with your parents? Come stay over at his place, he'll let you use his bed. Gray likes people, sincerely, and he likes helping out. It's usually no real trouble to him to share what he has, so he doesn't bat an eye at the prospect. He can be taken advantage of, and has in the past, but for the most part, he doesn't seem to care very much.

Flaws:

Lazy: If he's not spinning fire or bravely accomplishing some amazing task, he's probably doing nothing at all. He practices rigorously with his various implements for his act, and when all is said and done, he doesn't feel like doing much else. Homework, eh. Chores, eh. Walk the dog, eh. If he doesn't strictly have to do it (as in, you don't have a gun to his head) and it doesn't have to do with fire, he's probably not going to do it without a whole lot of bitching and moaning. He will do it, but only if you literally drag him out to do it.

Irresponsible: We had an assignment due? What do you mean the trash is piling up to the ceiling? The dog hasn't been fed in how long? These are all things that are likely to fall out of Gray's mouth at any given time. He knows he has obligations and duties, but it's so much easier to just do something he wants to do, something he's passionate about. All that boring stuff can be put off later until it's absolutely, 100% necessary it gets done (he's failing a class, you can't walk through the kitchen, the dog is starving). This also applies to senshi duties -- he will go to Saturday Night Fight Club because he has to or Hero will kill him. He will patrol the minimum amount per week because otherwise Hero will kill him.

Reclusive: Gray will never go out of his way to seek someone's company. He likes his alone time, and most of the things that really interest him he doesn't need other people around for. He likes people, and doesn't mind hanging out with them, but they have to come to him. They also shouldn't be too offended if he ignores them in favor of what he was already doing, because come on, he was doing it before they came around. They can't expect him to stop practicing his routine just because they showed up, right?

Gray's family is 100% male and it wasn't even on purpose. Dad just has awesome sperm.

His parents have been married since the beginning of time (actually 21 years, hell yes, let's go for 21 more!) and are very extremely dorkily happy together, even when they want to kill each other. Yep. Just like any good married couple.

Arthur Graves: Most commonly referred to as "Dad." The sperm donor for Grayson and Tristan. Though gender roles aren't strictly defined in their household, if one had to put a label to it, he would be "the man" and by that I mean he's the more forceful personality. (His bedroom habits with his husband aren't your business, thank you very much, though a horrified Gray will tell you he's walked in on all sorts of wild positions and, uh, there's no top or bottom here, folks).

Van Graves: Most commonly referred to as "Pop." Though his little swimmers haven't contributed any children yet, he is definitely not some nancy-boy wanna-be woman. He, like his husband, is very comfortable and happy being a man, and will be comfortable and happy doing laundry for the rest of his life as well, thank you very much. He dislikes gender roles, though if you must (and want to be clocked) you could refer to him as "the woman" of the relationship. Though not as foreful as his husband, he actually rules the house with an iron fist behind the scenes, in that his husband will pretty much do whatever he wants whenever if he REALLY wants it. Kind of, Van will rarely make a fuss about anything, but when he does, ho s**t, the whole house listens.

Tristan Graves: Grayson's little brother! They're very close, and are full blooded brothers, as their mother is a close family friend and still present in their lives. They tend to refer to her as "Aunt Myrna" even though she's their birthmother.

Tristan is arguably the most important person to Grayson in the world. He would do anything for his brother, anything. Though Tristan has let it be known on many occasions that he takes his duties as the Only Straight Male in the House very seriously, and he will crack all sorts of f** jokes at his brother, he does not take kindly to other people doing it. Tristan isn't as easy with his emotions as Gray is, nor with the open affection his brother shows him, so he tends to be more gruff and embarrassed than Gray. Still, their bond is strong, and they would stand up for one another even if they were wrong.

Hurt Tristan, and you will have Grayson chasing you down until he has exacted double the pain from you - be it in body, heart, or mind. At the same time, if you love Tristan, or you do well by him, Grayson will adore you. He may be highly irritated with you in every other respect, but he will hold his tongue because you are on good terms with his baby brother.

Leo -- Radiant Light

Leo makes himself too dazzlingly bright for anyone else to bear -- this unfortunately can have friendly fire effects, but he suddenly emits radiant light from all over his body. This can suck if you're busy melee fighting him and are blinded. Lasts for a minute.

Not only does the light blind and disorient, it also hurts the enemy to a certain degree. (Looking right at the sun hurts, this is similar.) Enemies are likely to remain semi-blinded (think color spots) for a little bit afterward, and their eyes will probably ache. Depending on the strength of the enemy, they could have residual slight status ailment as well (mostly youma will be weaker all around, Negaverse agents will be weakened slightly but it'll wear off).

(( I was told that his attack should also hurt, so, I hope this makes sense. XDD ))

Soldier Leo -- Radiant Beam

Soldier Leo will form and direct a beam of energy toward a target -- the source of this energy is generally his palm, though he will sometimes zap a very fine beam out of a fingertip. The smaller and more concentrated the beam is, the more it hurts/damages - if he does a one-finger beam, it's probably going to create sharp, localized pain wherever he hits with it, whereas if it's as wide as his palm, it'll be a more broad, grazing pain.

His attacks are much more effective on youma than humans (his little laserpointy would probably burn through parts of a youma, whereas it would burn a person, but obviously not straight through their body) with the added effect of the bright flash of light stunning and weakening a youma to a noticeable degree and disorienting other humans/senshi/negaverse if they look directly at it. (Think sunblinding.)

The more he uses this attack, the less effective it will become -- he can create the small, localized beams when he first begins, but if he tries to use it multiple times in battle, his focus and energy level will only allow the broader, less damaging attacks. He can only hold the energy beam for about five to ten seconds at a time -- so it's really a very short zap -- and he can't control the direction of it except to point, so if he misses, he misses. The attack itself only has a range of about twenty feet; essentially, a beam of energy that will dissipate at the end of the twenty feet, so if it hasn't encountered anyone, no damage will be done.

This attack will damage other senshi if they get in the line of fire, just like his first one.

PAST LEO

Soldier Leo took his duties very seriously. While it may not have seemed like it whenever they met at the Moon Court, that was truly the only time he allowed himself to relax long enough to appreciate and enjoy life. At his leisure, he was charming and gentle, a man of easy humor and difficult to offend unless slight was given to Virgo; a man must always defend his sister, he would supply. Holding the line was a sacred duty to him, and any who met him in space would find him a stoic, determined sort of man who was only interested in maintaining his line; he refused to dally, and highly disapproved of all those games of checkers that seemed to occur among his compatriots when out in space. (He's looking at you, Pisces and Cancer.)

He also seemed to vaguely disapprove of the rampant relationships among the Zodiac in general. He and Virgo enjoyed a very close and tender relationship behind closed doors, but they made certain it remained as such - behind closed doors. Though he did fraternize with other members of the guard, it seemed that he found himself turning to Virgo more and more; they were the two who would stand a little too close, talk a little too quietly to one another, have their touches linger just a moment too long when no one was looking. Though it was highly discouraged to be in a monogamous relationship, Leo cared for Virgo more than he ought - much more than he ought - and could not deny his heart. Still, he did his best to keep under the radar in that respect, and he did couple with others on occasion, though it was always at their insistence and not his.

In truth, their relationship was that of a sibling bond most of the time. If they met in space, it was as comrades and siblings; only at the Moon Court did they allow themselves to be free to express how they truly felt about one another. If he was ever asked and ever honestly replied, Leo would have to admit that his love for Virgo was equally strong for a sister and a lover. Their relationship was complicated and confusing, but he truly loved her.

He regarded Chronos and Eon with the utmost respect, as well as Aries and Taurus; while not a born leader, he could have led if he needed to, but he never felt that it was necessary. Brave and bright, he was a steady, constant source of strength for any who needed to draw from him, and when they gathered to fight together, he did his best to fight as well as defend. The Zodiac Guard meant more to him than anything - they were his family - and while he was prepared to die for them at any given moment, he did not want to see them fall at his side.

PRESENT LEO

Sailor Leo is not nearly as dedicated, stalwart, or skilled as his Soldier counterpart was. Grayson is an idle man by nature except when it is something that interests him, and so it will take him some time to get motivated on his own. He's never actually believed the senshi were anything magical - he has a surprisingly inactive imagination - and finding out that he is one, and a member of the Zodiac Guard no less, will be an experience for him. He will go along with the majority of things, though he will rely on Virgo tremendously to wake him up and get him to sparring practice as well as out on patrol.

His teammates are Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius: he trusts them implicitly. Not because he knows the are trustworthy, but because they are a member of his team, and Grayson believes the spirit of a team is to trust and rely on one another. While he would normally object to being hauled out of bed for much of anything, he will greet any of these senshi with an amiable look and agree to patrol, they just must always come to him and grab him. He'll go along with most anything if you tell him it's in the name of teamwork, and once in battle, he will fight bravely to defend those he cares for, to the point of getting himself injured in their stead. He would consider it his duty to his friends as well as to the Zodiac.

He and Virgo are once again going to develop a pseudo-sibling relationship, though he will be highly troubled by the dreams that explore the other half of said relationship; Grayson will not look at Elke in that manner, and the feeling will be very mutual, leading to some awkward encounters. Still, he will fight to get past that, because he enjoys Elke very much as a friend and sister, and won't want to lose her due to something from their past lives.

All in all, he's not the most shining example of a senshi, but he could be if you worked with him. When push comes to shove, Grayson will step up and do what is necessary, but that's only when it's absolutely necessary. As time goes on, and he learns more of his past life, he will gradually become more serious about his duties, and his actions will reflect it.
