Gift: Microscopy - Macie has always had an eye for detail, and found that she really liked her biology class, especially when they involved cutting things up. But more then dissections, she loved looking at the things under a microscope, where she could see the item blown up. She puts everything and anything under the light microscopes and has mastered the Kholer illumination technique. She's heavily researched the larger microscopes, and has decided that the Scanning Electron Microscope (Or SEM), which uses electrons to scan the surface of things like pollen (and smaller!), is the most amazing machine ever, and worked a summer in the local college in their lab, to learn about it firsthand.
Virtues: Recycles everything -- "You're not going to throw that AWAY, are you?" Not only does Macie buy the reusable bags, she also makes her old t-shirts into bags, or coasters or anything else that she needs at the time. She reuses anything in her house that she can (water bottles, pop bottles, etc) and keeps a close eye on her friends to make sure they're doing the same when she's around. She even goes so far as to pull recyclable things out of the garbage and hang onto them until she can recycle them herself, if they're on top.
Tact -- Macie has mastered tact to an art. She knows exactly how to avoid saying things that give offense in difficult situations.
Local Produce Junkie -- When she's not eating at the taco stand, Macie is going out of her way to buy anything and everything that's locally grown, locally owned or locally raised. She's quite ademant about it, and tries to convince other people that they should as well. She not only likes helping the environment by buying local, but she also likes helping support the local, small time, growers.
Flaws: Nervous popper -- She just can't help it! When she's bored, or nervous, or irritated or overly excited or even just to hear that sweet sweet POP!, she pops things. Her preferred mode of pops are bubble wrap, but as that isn't always readily handy, she also pops gum (since it's much easier to carry in her pocket) or her plastic bag that she brought her lunch in. She does, however, have a desk drawer in her room full of bubble wrap.
Eyelash batter -- Who knows why she does this, other then that she thinks it makes her look totally adorable. Macie overly bats her eyelashes. Once when she was very young, she did it in front of her mother and mother's, who thought it was the most endearing thing ever, and has batted her eyelashes ever since, as it got her several pieces of candy when she did it the first time. However, it hasn't worked since then, and most people thinks she just has a twitch.
'What's interesting is...' -- Macie seems to know random factoids, and likes to work them into any conversation she's having. However, everyone knows when they're coming, as she precludes it by saying "What's interesting is..." Her friends have told her how annoying it is, but she doesn't believe them and continues to do it.
