anatomy of a medusa:

bones, mucle, skin, types of scales, blood, organs.

anatomy i know you pervs are gonna want to know xp *has had to explaine a hemipenis more times then its healthy.......*

(compleatly rambly and out of order XD huzzah!)

Medusa have an extreamly fine sence of touch. they not only can feel as a human does, but can also feel like a regular snake. They are able to sence through vibration, mostly through their tail, so they tend to know you are comming... if you don't move softly. many of there sences overlap, such as vibration sencing and hearing. unlike a regular snake, Medusa have functional ears, but they can also 'hear' vibrations.

Your medusa is not blind (though some may be). the blindfolds and eyecover they wear is a very fine weave, and acts almost like a one way mirrior. This just breaks up the paralizing effects most things suffer when a medusa locks eyes with them. ^_^ Medusa do not seem afected by each others gaze... which may lead one to beliveing it is a last resort of self defence, as most Medusa are VERY reluctent to use it.

the toughest part of a medusa (not counting their additude XP) is there scales. but through vibration sencing, they are also sensitive. scales vary in toughness thoughout the different subspecies of medusa, Dragon medusa having a noticably harder scale to them. Scales are not impenitrable however. a bullet will rip through them, and a decent knife thrust is usually only avoided when it glances off the scales, which tends to happen from there shape, but with a hard enough thrust its bound to find its way between two scales and into some muscle.

Medusa shed like most reptiles. it does seem to be more obvious on there more snakelike parts. to make it less noticable, many medusa use lotion and like too.

Medusa are cold blooded. they do need to be kept warm as often as possible. this can be through heating rocks, blankets, warm water, and various other things. they do like the ocasional swim, and ice cream and whatnot, they just can't be in very cold tempetures for too long. They also tend to gravitate towards warm spots naturally. which might be why they steal bedding and like to not sleep alone.

Medusa due to there size apear to be more like constrictors, and thus do not seem to be poisonus. this is up for debate though. there are quite a few viper trates they have, and some have been known to cause signs of toxisity from biting. It apears they do have a weak type of venom, but it depends on the snake. Since a medusa is large enough to overpower there prey, the venom might just be used to diorenentate and slow down there victim.

habits and ediqute(sp):

what your medusa will probably do (like steal your best blankets whee ) and what your medusa should NOT do (unless they ar a b*****d *glares at Thomas*) this will also include several types of medusa/master relationships.

Medusa are imprinted with respect for there masters. This is thought to have been bred into them for safty reasons, and quite understandable. This dosn't make them mindless slaves, but this tends to stop them before they cross the line of serious harm to people. What happens to the medusa that cross this line... its... a mystery.

The term 'master' does not imply a slave/master relationship. It is used just more as a title such as 'mom' and such. Medusa use other terms as well, such as caretaker, guardian, owner, etc.

Medusa are fiercly loyal to their master. This devotion can spread to their master's family and even other pets depending how well they know them.

Diet:

limits on how big of things they can eat (medium sized dog) and effects it has, gummy rats, and cookies whee heart

Like al living things, your medusa must eat. They enjoy all sorts of food. Solid foods are more enjoyable overall.

Whole fruits are a high favorite. Being able to eat them in one bite provides a bit of stimulation and enjoyment. It can relax some medusa.

Mice, rats, and rabbits are given sometimes as well. Some medusa will not have a thing to do with them though. So be sure to know the disposition of the medusa reciving said treat. ^_^ Please don't feed them rodents you find laying around. you wouldn't eat food off the street would you?
