Okay, she seriously hated fall now. If she got dragged to one more "seasonal" outing, she was going to scream! Aesica looked none-to-thrilled to be here, crawling among the apple trees as Mother picked some. Ugh. That, and they'd tried shoving apple juice on her. Eww. No. Hell. No. None of that, thank you! The tiny pale one sighed, leaning against one of the trees, taking a rest. The only good thing about this was the old lady in the market near the front had given her caramel on a stick to nom on. Other than that, this was horrible. Just absolutely HORRID.
Stasia hummed softly, picking apples and putting them into a basket. Nataya, Azubahiel, Ginger, and Zemel would be sure to love these! Not to mention Zee and his kids would probably enjoy some as well. And she could attempt to make apple pie and.....ooh, her mouth was watering just thinking about all the apple delicacies that could be made!

Loki was absolutely furious. Not only was he not with Daddy, Mommy refused to allow him to pick apples. Not to mention the fact that he was too short. Stupid legs. Why did Mommy take him on these trips, anyway? Didn't she know that he would rather be with Daddy? Didn't she know that he'd behave for her, if only Daddy was around? He decided to give her a warning growl, just in case.
Unfortunately, for him, not for Risa; she ignored him. "If you're good, I'll get you a caramel apple later," she told him with a smile. "Come on. I know you're good for your Dad. Can't you just pretend I'm him for one day?"
"You're not cool enough." Loki wasn't in one of his nicest moods, but that changed when he spotted someone familar. "Auntie!"

Stasia blinked, turning around to look at the little tyke. "Hey there, Loki!" she greeted, waving with her free hand. "My, my, have you grown since I've last seen you?" She picked another apple, placing it gently in her basket. "So, how have you been?"
Aesica blinked, looking up at the new people from her seat under the tree. Mother seemed to know them. Huh. How interesting. Not. Still, she pulled herself to her feet, trying to get a better look at them so she could size them up.

"I got fangs!" Loki bragged, making his way towards her. He got close enough so he could whisper in a rather loud fashion, "I'm making Mommy mad on purpose. Don't tell! Daddy'll get mad, and then..." Well, the expression on Loki's face made it clear that he knew exactly what would happen if Matthias became angry. "Well, if Daddy get's mad, he won't let me see you anymore!" This was a fate worse than being in a church full of crosses, at least, in Loki's opinion. "You had your baby!" he accused her, with a small frown. "You said you'd tell me when she was born, why didn't you?" But he paused in what would have been an epic lecture about how Stasia should have told him she was having her baby, and noticed Aesica.
A smile crossed over his face, and he headed over to the infant. "Hi! I Loki. What your name? I been waiting for you."

Stasia smiled. "I won't tell. Promise. But....go easy on your Mommy, okay? It's not good to be TOO mean to your parents." she said, ruffling his hair. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you; I've been busy, sweetie." she offered as an excuse.
Aesica blinked, looking up at the older boy, dark blue-black eyes examining him. Loki, hm? Interesting specimen, she'd give him that. A small, knowing smile spread across her face as she held a finger to her lips. Shh, quiet. Too close to the adults to talk.

"Fine, I won't be too mean," Loki said with a slight frown, looking back at his aunt. Judging by his expression, Stasia was one of the few people he'd actually stop for. Well, one of two, the other being his father.
Risa was oblivious to the fact that her son had been talking about her. She was oblivious to all esle save the apples she was picking. That was, until she caught sight of Stasia. She paused midpick, and smiled at Stasia. "Good afternoon," she greeted with a smile. "Feeling any better?"
Loki took Aesica's hand. He understood her look, she couldn't talk in front of the adults. She was already sneaky! He liked that. "Let's go play, then. Away from them."

Stasia smiled, looking to Risa. "Yeah, I am. Well, sorta anyway. It doesn't matter." she said with a shrug. "How are you doing, Ri? Keeping Matthias in line?" This was said with a joking tone; she doubted anyone could keep Matthias in line, even if they tried.
Aesica smiled. She didn't know what this "play" thing was, but if it was away from the adults, she didn't mind. She took a hold of his hand, using it to try and balance. She let go of the tree, and attempted to take a step, only to go sprawling on the ground. Ouch. Stupid legs, not listening to her silent commands!

Risa smiled. "I'm fine, it's harder to keep the children in line than it is Matth, of course. He's rather obedient. I can't say he's given me any trouble, I wish I could say the same for Loki." She was teasing, but something in the back of her head told her Matthias wouldn't have liked to hear how she was talking about him.
Loki frowned. "Oh, can't walk," he said, kneeling down. He struggled to pick her up. "I'll carry you." Actually, it was more like dragging, but he managed to get her about ten feet away from the adults. "That better? Now we can talk."

Stasia's expression faltered a little. She was only joking....but this worried her. Matthias, obedient? What in twelve hells had this woman done to him? This shock and worry shown on her face for the briefest of moments, along with a hint of disgust, before she caught herself, and forced herself to smile. "Well, children can be handful." she said, her voice sharp but pleasant enough.
Aesica's mouth formed a little frown as she was dragged. How indignant! She brushed off her dress before looking back up at the odd, odd boy. "Aesica." she said simply, pointing to herself. Her voice was high and clear, not holding any hint of a childish lilt to it besides the pitch. She sounded like a tiny adult. "Much better." she added, answering his inquisitions.

Risa didn't notice Stasia's first reaction, or she would have chuckled. Still, it was unfortunate that she was completely oblivious to the sharpness of Stasia's tone. "I believe the twins play favorites. It seems whenever Matth is around, Loki behaves. Whenever I'm with Milo, he behaves beautifully. And vice versa. Though it seems you have the same trick Matthias does," she commented, glancing towards Loki and Aesica. "He doesn't seem to be getting into any trouble this time."
Loki smiled as she began to talk. He'd known she was special! "Nice meet you, Aesica. I been waiting a long long time for you. You very pretty," he added with a nod of approval. "Want to play?"

"That's normal when it comes to kids." Stasia said, shrugging. "Nothing you can really do about it." She then smiled at the last comment. "What can I say? Kids love me. Kids just behave when I'm around." Okay, so that was a bit of an exaggeration, but eh. Whatever.
Aesica offered a small smile as a reward. The boy seemed like a loyal enough pet. "I know." she said, her tone holding a bit of warmth to it now. She paused, thinking. "Can't." she said after a moment, frowning slightly. She couldn't play if she couldn't walk, could she? That, and she couldn't "play" if she didn't understand the concept of "play".

Risa doubted that, but she didn't say anything. She decided to ignore Stasia and went back to her apple picking. Maybe she would surprise Matth and make him an apple pie. Sugar free, of course. Unless she was in the mood to tease him. "I think I'll use sugar," she said aloud.
Loki frowned slightly. "Oh yeah, you no walk," he realized. "But we can play non-walking games... Like..." Well. He couldn't think of any. The games he knew best required the ability to walk, or toys, and there were no toys there. "Um... Well. I don't know very many games without running... I could tell you a story?"

Stasia frowned. Now Risa was ignoring her? Fine. So be it. She frowned, pondering possible revenge tactics, all but ignoring the fae next to her. See if she cared. Hmph. Stupid fae lady. Going and changing her Matth.....Ugh.
Aesica nodded. "Story would be adequate." she said, looking up at him. "What is the story going to be about?" She stumbled a bit over the word "going", but managed to get it out in a coherent fashion.

If Risa had known what Stasia was thinking, she would have retorted that Matthias belonged to her. "You know Stasia, we should have a get-together sometime," she commented, dropping the pretense of ignoring the halfling. "Loki and Aesica really seem to get along. I would like to get to know you better, anyway. Matth's friends are my friends." Which wasn't exactly true. Risa had always had a feeling that Stasia didn't especially like her.
Loki thought about it. "How 'bout a story bout us?" He asked. It was really the only thing he could think of. "Once upon a time, there were two Really Awesome Fae-people."

Stasia glanced at the other woman, listening. "I guess a get-together would be fine." she said, shrugging. She had a feeling Risa was only being nice out of obligation, which was just as bad as her being mean. She's rather the fae act "real" than fake being friendly. "Who's place; yours or mine?" she asked, putting apples into her quickly-filling basket.
Aesica smiled, more amused than anything else. True, it wasn't Brothers Grimm or that, but it could still be interesting. She sat, looking up at him and remaining silent like a good little listener.
