About the Girl.

Name: Arlet [Indian Spice] Jahar [Jewel].

Gender: Female.

Age: Eighteen.

Favorite Food: Jalebi. It is an Indian fried sweet. It is made by deep-frying batter in a kind of pretzel shape then soaked in syrup. Jalebis are usually bright orange or yellow in colour, but occasionally available in a shade of white. It can be served either warm or cold. It has a somewhat chewy texture with a crystallized sugary exterior coating. The sugars get partly fermented which adds flavor to the dish.

Hated Food: Blue Cheese. Who in their right mind would want moldy, rotten, cow's milk? The thought of it is enough to make Arlet want to rush to the lavatory. And besides, it's a proven fact that the pungent smell of it is related to human foot odor. Gross.

Gift:
Belly-Dancing: Young Arlet was never quite understood what it was like to be feminine. While her sisters were occupied with their plushies, and dress-up dolls, she would much rather be putting together a robot, or kicking a muddy ball outside where the cool wind blew. However, one day, her mother, Davaki [who was quite feminine] announced that she would be performing a beloved hobby of her own, belly-dancing. Young Arlet was a bit traumatized when her usually shy mother, came out of her room in a rather bold costume. Davaki's normally dull brown hair seemed to glitter in the light, as it was let loose, reaching her hips. She adorned ornate gilded accessories, with equally fashionable clothing with excellent embroidery. The mother wore a determined yet flirtatious expression, and then the music started. Slowly, Davaki raised her thin arms into the air, and in cue with the beating of the drums, her lithe hips began to shake. Young Arlet had never to see such a dance so remarkable, her jaw simply dropped at the amazing flexibility of her mother. Her body motions flowed like liquid, and Davaki's expressions was a performance in itself. The sequins flashed too, only adding to the beauty of the dance. It was just about then that Young Arlet vowed it was time to give up the video-games, and take on such a hobby. Before she knew it, the music came to an end, and her mother ended with a graceful bow. Her family thundered with applaud, gushing over her mother with sincere compliments. From then on, after a discussion with her parents [And they were both blissful over the fact that she was starting to take interest in something productive.] the art of belly-dancing took over her life. Arlet was and never had been the type of human being that achieved perfection easily. It took thousands of hours of practice, canceling dates, parties, because belly-dancing was the one thing that she truly loved about in her life. She delayed homework to put on performances in community centers, friends, and family. As the years passed, slowly, the name of Arlet Jahar began to spread around their town. She loved to entertain people, for if there was one thing she wanted to do, it was to raise their moods. Arlet wasn't completely famous, but indeed, that was her dream, but before traveling around the world, like any normal teenager, she would have to attend college. School-work had never been a strong point for her, but surely, with her talent in dance, someone would take her? One fateful day, after hours of scouring the internet for decent colleges, Davaki burst into the room, her face brightly lit with an astonishing smile. In her clenched tan hand, was an advertisement of some sort. Her mother began to provide an explanation about the school. It was called Barren Pines College for the Gifted. She didn't have the best report card, but, she most certainly had a talent! In the brochure, a gorgeous campus, glistening facilities were advertised. Best of all, it was just a town or two over from where she resided. Destiny City. Their newest resident, a passionate belly-dancer.

Virtues:
Bold & Proud: not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger. having or showing self-respect or self-esteem.

In such a large family, there was always a runt. At one point in her life, it had been her. However, through belly-dancing, Arlet began to gain confidence in herself, and learned that she had a right to her own opinions, and to assert them thoroughly. Since then, she's become sort of a fearless girl, standing up to the challenge, though often, it's clear that she would be on the losing side. Arlet never stands for the weak to be treated on a lower level, and she's had a countless number of battle scars from doing so. Through the teachings of her mother, if there's one thing she gained, it was pride. For family, for friends, but most of all, herself. Though she will clearly admit when she is wrong, if she certainly knows she isn't, Arlet will never back down, as she believes that her pride as a whole is at a risk, especially when it isn't.

Quick-Witted & Calm: having a nimble, alert mind. not bothered or agitated; composed.
We're being attacked by a murderous alien species? Well, that's quite alright. Calm yourself, I've got a plan! Perhaps it's because of the fact that as a boisterous child, she was constantly getting scolded, but at the same time, creating plots to get away with it. Especially in situations where others are shouting at the top of their lungs, hands flailing in the air, Arlet will be silently standing in the corner, thinking of how to get out of such a sticky situation. At a younger age, surprisingly, the person she idolized was not a belly-dancer, instead, a detective. Arlet admired their cool style, how they remained composed, yet knew exactly how to jump into the action. It's not the fact that she's a genius, more of that she focuses her attention on details. She also knows that, instead of wasting energy on worrying about the future, the best thing to do would be to be concerned about the present. At times, a delusion she has is that she's being filmed, Arlet being the protagonist of the movie. So, she feels that she should be the cool, calm character, and she's good at it too.

Flaws:
Critical: inclined to find fault or to judge with severity, often too readily.

She's quite the firm believer in perfection, particularly when dancing. You missed one step? It's off with your head. Arlet does this mostly because of the fact that she knows she has too many flaws to count, and if she can focus the attention on others' mistakes, her's won't be noticed. A bit naive, Arlet, for they do. Instead, others often perceive her as a scary dictator, usually her dance partners.

Doubtful: to be uncertain about; consider questionable or unlikely; hesitate to believe.
Once again, the mystery novels got to her head. She's constantly doubting others, never fully trusting them. Arlet believes that they always have some motive. Whether it's stealing her new pair of shoes, or simply being a social-climber. Others know this too. The thing is, they especially don't like to trust Arlet simply because she's always being incredibly suspicious of her surroundings. It's only natural for a human being to want to be trusted, and though Arlet tries not to show it, at her level, it's quite obvious.
