This had been a very bad few weeks for Eacles - he'd been chased off no less then three times from what he considered just a little bit of fun - drat these interlopers who had a tendency to butt into things which were not thier business. This last interruption had been the worst, Eacles was still nursing the shallow gash along his side that the wretched mare Esterlina had given him.

It was no matter really he told himself as he trudged along with a surly look on his face - he would run across the mare again - and this time sh would be alone and then Eacles could at long last get his revenge. This thought cheered him up a bit and Eacles lifted his head a little and picked up his pace in response. Why dwell on the past hen the future held so much potential?

Larkspur had been searching for some time to find this stallion she had heard so much about. The things he did to others intrigued her greatly. This was someone to watch out for, both to learn from and to avoid his wrath. She had been looking for a mentor of sorts to further her ways and this Eacles sounded like the perfect one to fill that roll.

Her head snapped up from her thoughts as she caught a flash of yellow and brown in the distance. Could that be him? Her heart raced a bit at the prospect of finally finding this stallion. She quickened her pace to try to catch up to the creature she had spotted hoping that it was indeed him.

Eacles had become pretty paranoid about Nequus following him lately - this was probably the result of his lack of luck lately, evidenced by the healing gash in his side. So it was no wonder that he was soon aware of someone tailing him - at first it was just a flash of blue here and there, but the creature wasn't making to much of an effort to stay hidden - no it seemed more like the beast was trying to catch up to him.

Well...Eacles couldn't have that, and while he considered running or flying off in order to prevent further injury, he couldn't' recall ticking off anyone blue lately..so in the end decided to just see what they wanted. He could always escape later if it was necessary. Wheeling about he flapped his wings a few time - both to appear larger, and more intimidating - before glaring at the approaching...filly? Was he seeing that correctly?

Larkspur slowed as she got closer to where the stallion was. When he finally did come into focus she was sure she had found him. When he spread out his wings she worried for a moment that he might take flight and she would need to chase after him, but then he stood his ground. Was he trying to scare her off? Well if he was it wasn't going to work.

She stopped not far from where he stood, returning his glare with one of her own. Studying him she wondered just what he was thinking. Was he gonna try one of his tricks on her? She kinda hoped he would. That would give her the proof she needed to make sure it was indeed him. Or she supposed that she could just ask him. "Eacles?" She questioned, arching her brow slightly.

She knows you! his mind cackled - well wasn't that nice? a sign a last that his name was getting around. I wouldn't gloat to much however he reminded himself, being known could be both a curse and a blessing and it wasn't apparent which one this situation was going to be quite yet. However the stallion decided he had little to worry about with a mere foal and snorted at her irately, as though thoroughly bothered that she had decided to pester him with whatever it was she wanted.

Deciding to try and frighten her off the stallion took a few threatening steps forward, making sure to let the sunlight flash across his horn threateningly. "Depends on whose aking" he snapped at her "what do you want?"

When he more forward in a threatening fashion she did not flinch, nor did she blink. She had expected him to do that given his reputation. He would indeed try to run her off, perhaps threatened her again, maybe even try one of his tricks. But she had heard enough stories about him to know what she should and shouldn't expect when running into him.

"I am Larkspur." She said plainly after his finished his little display. "As for what I wish, well that depends on whether you are indeed Eacles or not. I have no need for any others." She wondered if he would lie about who he was. He did match the descriptions she had been given, so unless he had an identical twin this had to be him.

Larkspur..Larkspur..Eacles wracked his brain for any memory about anyone named Larkspur. None came to mind and the stallion was somewhat puzzled but also impressed since the filly didn't seem intimidated by him at all. He had to admit that was pretty impressive for a youth.

'Well Larkspur...you've found me then, I am indeed Eacles...now what do you want?" He asked the filly with an arched brow "Quickly...before I grow weary of listening to you"

Her posture relaxed a bit when he confirmed her suspicions. Good she had finally found him. Now to work her magic. She thought for a quick moment on how to reply. Should she just come out and say why she had sought him out or beat around the bush just to annoy him a bit. Well beating around the bush would test him a bit more. She had to make sure he was indeed the right one to be her mentor.

"What I want? Oh yes I suppose you are wondering about that." She said with a dull voice. Her eyes watched him closely for any flinch or movement that might tell her something. "Well I'm not sure if you are up for the challenge." That would either get his interest or drive him mad, she hoped it was the first option.

Eacles glowered at the filly for a few moments, up to the challenge? what did she intend to do..try and hire him to beat on some foalhood foe? pft...he Eacles was above such menial tasks, although he had to admit there was something fun about the thought of terrorizing a foal somewhere.

"what kind of challenge could you...a mere foal possibly have for a stallion of my stature" the beast snarled at her with sarcasm and contempt practically dripping from his voice.

Larkspur had to hide the disgusted look that tried to appear on her face when her referred to her as nothing more than a mere foal. She had to take a moment to refocus before she could say anything. And even then her mind had been shaken a bit.

"Well I have heard some things, about you and your ways." She started into her explanation. "What you do is...interesting. The way you torment others for fun is just what I like. I too enjoy making others suffer." She left out the part about it not always going to plan though. "I wish to learn more. Perhaps seek some guidance in your ways. But if you don't think a mere foal like me is not worth the time then surely there is someone else who could teach me. Someone better." She hoped that last comment would get him going. Her tail flickered aimlessly around as if she had all the time in the world to wait for his response.

Eacles was on the verge of telling he filly to bug off - like he needed some snot nosed little brat following him around all the time - when she decided to toss in her last little comment. Better?!?..someone better then him...impossible and Eacles drew himself up into a proud posture with slightly narrowed eyes.

"Have fun finding some better girly...there's not a Nequss in the land better then I at being a thorn in others hides." He eyed her critically "I might be interested in a student, but how do I know you have what it takes?"

A small smile crossed Lark's face when she saw how her last comment got to him. Good that was exactly what she wanted. The more she got under his skin the better since it kept his attention focused on her and not on the thought of leaving. Now she had to think carefully, what would be a good example of her skills that would impress him enough to let him stick around.

"Perhaps you have heard of Gelin. He was a normal foal, until I came along. Now he is scared of anything that moves." She held her head up high. "And walks with a limp now I might add." Her eyes studied him carefully, surely word of Gelin had reached out this far, it was considered such a tragic story of a good foal turned against himself. If he hadn't well then she would have to think of another example, but by far Gelin was her favorite victim. She still stopped by to play with him whenever she could.

Eacles cast his mind to the current gossip he'd managed to overhear - and did indeed vaguely recall two whiny mares yapping about some poor tortured foal. Gelin might have been the name...he honestly had a hard time remembering, but it did add at least a little bit of proof to the Fillies claims. Pursing his lips in thought Eacles considered his options - on one hand he could just chase the filly off and be done with it, which would probably be the easiest choice, or he could take the filly up on her request and maybe when she was old enough he'd have a decent partner in crime.

That would take a lot of work...but in the long run would increase his odds of success for some of his more complicated schemes. "Well...I suppose if you want to tag along I can't really stop you - if I chase you off you'll probably just come back and I have more important Nequus to deal with then you" He finally agreed in a fairly surly tone.

She had to work hard to hide her excitement. Yes finally she found someone to mentor her in the ways of evil. This was a good thing, for she could not return to her family. They had disowned her and would likely have her severely punished should she ever return. He would be her family now, in a weird and twisted way.

"You could chase me away one hundred times, and I would return one hundred times." She said bluntly. It was the truth. She had no where else to go, and no one else to follow. Sure Eacles reputation wasn't perfect but it was the best she had heard of so far. Perhaps in time they could both benefit from this partnership. "So when do we start?" She asked with a small smile.

Eacles let out a slight huff of breath "Well...at least your persistent" he groused at the little filly - at least she didn't seen the type to jump up and down or yammer on excitedly hen she got something she wanted. No matter how useful she might turn out to be Eacles was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to deal with her if she was. Eacles hated happy go lucky Nequus.

"Right away" He told Lark before turning about and continuing in the direction he had been going before becoming aware of her following him "Try to keep up!"
