I live in the southern-ish region of the High Desert. I travel down to the southern Califronia region ( Pasedena, Fontana, Corona, ect.) for concerts and the like. I have noticed that these people are extremely arrogant and inconsiderate.
However i was up north recently ( Monteray, San Luis Obisbo, Frisco) for fun and vacationing, and noticed these people have a more open, wrm, and friendly persona to them.
Now I know people act differently. But why is it that people from Nor Cal are so much friendlier than people in So Cal, in general?

Well no matter the region, everybody's different.
I believe that you've just only found the nice crowed up there, and haven't met the mean crowed.

In santa rosa everyone is either mean because they are wannabe gangsters or mean because theyjust hate you.

im from Chula Vista and i think its cause everyone doesn't like that the mexican people are like um....everywhere and they don't like em but i don't see whats so bad about em

Oh, there are so many mean people up here in Redding, there's barely any nice people, unless you go to the older churches. O_o
Generally, we're kinda arrogant up here too, not everyone is nice. Trust me. sweatdrop Most everyone at my hs is a jerk to everyone else. domokun (cept me. cause i'm niceish)

I live in Broderick (part of sacramento but i know you guys know that sweatdrop ) and some people here arent nice. Some people here are real big a** holes. At my school some guys and girls are a** holes. So it aint that nice up here too if you stay long enough.

I actually found quite the opposite...but maybe that's because I'm just strange. Lived in the Bay Area (Fremont) for about a decade before I moved down to LA (been down here for about seven years now), but really it depends on the region. Like someone said before: there's idiots EVERYWHERE. You don't really have to find out in a retail job (although that really does hit the core ^^); just work at a place that deals with the public in general and you'll see the results of society in general....
