Okay, seriously, she was beginning to loathe these "outings". Couldn't Mother take them anywhere vaguely interesting? The small infant sighed, the corners of her lips turned down ever so slightly into a barely-there frown. Why anyone would pay to come see these stupid birds was far beyond her. They smelled funny; nothing at all like the turkey dinner Mother had made a couple nights ago. They didn't look that that, either. She sat on the ground, just near the enclosure, by the entrance, staring at the birds. They did have an interesting....
Aesica let out a whimper of displeasure as she winced, temporarily blinded by the flash of Mother's camera. Damn it! She always did that when she least expected it.....couldn't she have the common decency to warn her? Frowning, the child pulled herself up on the fence, using it as a balancing rail as she made her way away from Mother and her infernal camera.

Alazne was good at scaring these birds.
It wasn't even that she meant to, just that it happened. She would sneak forward and reach out to pet their feathers, compare them to her daddy's feathers, but everytime she did that, they would run off, making her pout heavily. She grumbled under her breath and suddenly chased after one of them, squealing as one of her feet caught on the other's ankle and she fell on her face in the mud.
Whining irritably, she pulled herself back to her feet and wiped the dirt off her face, sticking her tongue out at the stupid birds. Fine, then!! She'd have fun on her own.

A small giggle came from the girl as she saw the other one fall. She couldn't help it; she found it amused. She used the fence as a guide to get closer to the girl, peering at the tailed one. She glanced, making sure Mother was out of hearing range. She was. Good. "Okay?" she asked, looking at the other girl as she made her way into the enclosure, pushing the gate open.
Aesica had to stay near the fence, though; she hadn't gotten this whole "walking" thing down yet. Still, it didn't hurt to socialize every now and then. Especially with someone who had such a nummy looking aura. It was a good thing for Alazne that the little girl wasn't hungry.

Alazne blinked in surprise, her tail flicking back and forth a little bit, before she looked over at the black-haired girl. She looked over her clothes, the mess absolutely horrific, and was sympathetic to her mother for a moment before she nodded.
"'Kay. Dirty, d'hough," Alazne replied, mover her tail about a bit as she watched the other, reaching out to another turkey before it ran off before she managed to even skim her finger along the edge of it, grumbling angrily and stomping one foot. It was lucky for her, her dreams the night before had been pleasant and less scary than they usually were, and she may have recalled something about this girl, but she wasn't sure what. It was easier to remember the bad dreams. She stepped forward, a bit awkwardly, and smiled softly. "Mean birdies."

Aesica looked at the birds a second, shrugging. "Birds are birds." she said, shrugging, as if that explained everything. Didn't everyone know birdies didn't like to be touched? "Your mother can clean you." she said, nodding once.
She tried to move out, to move closer to the other girl. She focused. She knew the motions of walking. She took one step away from the fence, and proceeded to collapse into a sitting position, her legs refusing to hold her up. She frowned, slightly embarrassed at falling in front of a new person she'd just barely met. Stupid, useless limbs!

Alazne pouted regardless, trying to get the mud and dirt off of what once was a pretty, lacy white dress, pristine and beautiful just like her mother was. Too bad she wasn't. "Papa's lik'a bird, too," she commented, feeling no reason not to tell the other girl this. She grinned wickedly. "Drop somet'in' behind 'im 'n' he flies real' high 'n' hits 'is head on the ceilin'," she explained with a grin that made it obvious that this was one of her past times.
She made a sheepish face when the comment came about her mother cleaning her. "Mama's gon'na be sore 'cause I'm not s'possed ta get muddy in m'nice dressies," she said, but was pouting because she was in the dress at all. She hated dresses. She wanted something else to wear, like pants and scrappy shirts. She wanted to get all dirty and make a mess and not have to suffer her mom's upset otherwise. When the girl flopped, she smiled in an endearing manner, stepping over and outstretching both mud-covered hands, palms up. "I c'n help if ya'd like, miss."
