Naruto's characters are one dimensional. The growth they had was obvious and dull. Not to mention they completely destroyed the image of what real ninja are. I will admit that until the rank up tests it was mildly amusing, but once they lost the concept of time I gave up on watching. They adopted the dbz style of time which is by the far most annoying sense of it that I can imagine. But then again, I entered the series pissed off considering they got the mythology behind the nine tailed fox completely wrong. First they destroy what real ninja are, then they destroy a mythological creature. To be honest, I hate the anime more then I hate christmas, religion, family, music, and color all rolled into one.
Bleach was better the naruto, but still bad by far. While admittedly, It is till an entertaining show to watch, it has gone on far enough. It's gets redundant and boring. Bear in mind that I have in fact watched most of it I can find online. I watch it so I can accurately form arguments like these. It did have an okay sense of humor, the characters were pretty much the same to be expected in most anime these days. But the worst part by far is the wannabe love story they tried to throw in between Ichigo and Orihime. The series would have been much more tolerable if they cut that out. In fact, the whole series could be sorted up by at least a third if they cut out all the useless junk like pointless love scenes or the squabbles between the characters. Ya, ha ha, it was funny the first time, it gets old quickly.
A good anime, not a great anime, but a good anime should be no more the 36 episodes. It should either considerate on love or ignore completely. It should have an accurate perception of time. It should also have the characters grow in some way by the end. A perfect example is Black Lagoon. Short, sweet, full of action, no attempted romance, only got better as the series went on.

They managed to make Ninja more awesome than they were before. It would have been pretty boring to watch real ninjas throwing stars. These days, people are looking for something unnatural, that is what makes Naruto a far better anime. wink
