"Scavenger hunt? Are you serious? That's so childish," Azrael complained as his mother led him to the area where it was about to start. A piece of paper and a bag was handed to him as well while his mother signed him up for... whatever this was.

"Azrael, this is a scavenger hunt. You go out and find items based on the riddle or description they give you. First one to get all of them gets a prize of sorts," Shadai replied, sighing at how the toddler could be so stubborn about some things.

"Prize?" That caught his attention. A prize meant he had been the best and well, that was all that truly mattered to him at the moment. Glancing over the list of objects, the toddler could already guess at half of them as to what they were. Now, finding them would be the hard part...

Loki wasn't exactly pleased to be going on a scavenger hunt, but then, when was he ever pleased to be anywhere his father wasn't? "Mommy..." he growled. "I told you 'ready. I don't want to go on a scavenger hunt." At least he wasn't clicking anymore, like he had been five minutes ago.

"Loki, look. If you win the game, you get a prize," Risa tried to explain. She forced a smile on her face; she honestly was afraid. She couldn't handle Loki on her own, and she knew it. Sometimes she wished he could be better behaved like Milo. If only. "Don't you want Daddy to be proud when we go home? If you win, you can give him the prize!" She hoped it would work, how she hoped...

It did. Loki's scowl transformed into an ear-to-ear smile, revealing newly grown fangs. "Okay! I'll win for Daddy!" Risa handed him the list, and saw him struggle with it. She should have known he wouldn't be able to read English yet. She knelt down, and started to read the list to him.

"See? You just need to find those."

Azrael folded the sheet and shifted the bag he had been given to his tail. The appendage poked through the loop and wrapped around the handle so it wouldn't go anywhere. Seeing it was secure, the demon's eyes swept around and focused on that of another child not too far away.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinar-wait, those ears weren't normal looking at all. Then again, that was hardly something to go off of when trying to decide who was normal and who was not. Azrael sighed and looked back at his mom before slowly edging closer to the duo not too far away. Hey, might as well make a friend, right?

Loki caught sight of Azreal, and stared. What an interesting looking person! He'd never seen anything quite like him; and so forgetting to do what he usually did when he was alone with his mother, which was torture her; he made his way to the other toddler. "Hi," he greeted, as politely as he could. He gave him a open mouthed smile that revealed two holes where his canines would go. Or where they would have gone, if he had been human.

"My name Loki. What your name?" he asked. Obviously an interesting person like Azrael would have an interesting name to go with it.

Azrael barely noticed the missing canines as the boy wandered over to greet him. "Hi Loki. I'm Azrael," he replied smoothly, flashing a smile in reply. "I assume you're here for this... treasure hunt?" he asked, gesturing vaguely to the small crowd of waiting children. The people themselves didn't interest him, but being crowned winner of the ultimate prize, however, did. His tail flicked around, the bag ready for grabbing when the actual event started.

"Nice name," Loki told Azrael with a smile. "I here for treasure hunt," he agreed easily. This boy spoke an awful lot like Aesica. Too formal for his tastes. "I gonna win prize for my Daddy. Wanna be team? We work 'gether and share prize?" After all, sharing was caring, right? And if they did share, Loki was sure he would get the best part of it. "When it gonna start?" he asked, as if the other boy would know. "I want it start now."

Azrael frowned slightly at the prospect of working together and sharing the end prize. "Sure, le's team up an' split the prize," he replied softly, wondering if said prize could be split so that he got the title and Loki got the object, if it was only one thing.

"Should start soon, an' I hate waiting too," the demon continued, taking the bag again so his tail could flick back and forth to relieve his impatience. Patience wasn't his strong point like his older brother, but why wait for something when it could come to you with a little bit of rushing?

An older man stood up on a raised platform towards the front of the crowd, quickly going over a few rules about the scavenger hunt. "Get ready, gonna start real quick," he added, a slight smirk coming to his face. This was going to be fun, that was for sure.

Loki gave his new friend a smile. He liked Azrael so far; he was nicer than Loki's twin brother, at least. The little fae didn't think there was any chance of them working together; ever. "I not good at waiting," Loki confided in his friend. "Mommy say I impatient; I get into trouble cuz of it. She say I gotta wait for stuff. No let me get toys when we go to store. Say I gotta wait." He crossed his arms. Patience may have been a virtue, but it wasn't one this toddler possessed.

"It better start soon," he muttered. "Or I gonna get mad. I get scary when mad," he added for his friend's benefit. "I like scaring Mommy. Eyes go all black and I scare her--but Daddy put me in time out."

Why hadn't it started? Loki kept imagining a grand treasure as the prize. He held his sack at the ready. He practically ignored what the man on the platform was saying. Who needed rules?

Azrael let out a short laugh at how much Loki seemed like his brother, save for the patience element. "Sound like my brother, but he's good at waiting... And stealing," he replied, scowling slightly. He hoped his stuff remained in his room as it would be rather difficult to get them back. Cody was a good two feet taller than him and packed a mean punch.

"Oh really? That sounds really fun," the demon continued, ears perking slightly as the overly talkative announcer finally started to count down from five.

"Five... Four... Three... Two... One... START!" he shouted, and all at once the kids rushed out in a small wave. As they spread out, Azrael started out with a plan already formed as to where he would go first. "Come on! Let's go; I know where th' first thing is!" he called out, flashing Loki a grin.

"I not good at waiting," Loki said again. Patience was not a virtue he possessed. He thought he would have to learn patience--after all, Daddy seemed to be patient. It wasn't fair. When the announcer said start, his curled ears twitched in excitement. "You know where it is?" he asked in disbelief. "You lead!"

It was only fair to have Azreal lead if he knew where the things were, right? Maybe they would even win the prize! "We find all of 'em," he told Azzie with a smile. "We find 'em all and win!"

((I fail at rhyming/creating little riddles. D: So don't kill me! crying I r teh failure.))

Azrael grinned and nodded, heading for one of the pine trees. Needles of green, even amongst the snow, with the item you need colored brown amongst the snow. That meant a pine tree, and pine trees had pine cones which were brown. So that meant their first item was a pine cone, right?

"First item... Tis a pine cone. Cause it's saying somethin' 'bout a green tree in winter and stuff," he said, panting slightly as they reached the tree. He reached down, grabbing two medium-sized pine cones and handing one to Loki. "Here. Next item is... Uh..." he paused, glancing at the sheet once more. Curse his short memory!

Loki took the pine cone and put it in his bag. "Thank you," he said cheerfully. He looked at the next item on the list. He wasn't able to read, but thankfully the people running the game were smart enough to have made pictures of certain items as well. The picture he was looking at was of a pocket. Something in his pocket.

If he had been able to read, it would have said something like this:

Jingling like tiny bells,
Often thrown in wishing wells.

Money. Money was kept in pockets, Loki thought. Well, Daddy kept his money in a wallet. Loki reached into his pocket and pulled out two shiny nickels. "Look what I got~"

Azrael stared at the money, then at the riddle, then back at it. Slowly, a grin spread across his face as he took one of the nickles. "How did you know tha's what it was?" he asked, placing it in his bag. He only understood half the riddle due to his limited reading skills, but he recognized wishing wells and wishing wells had money in it.

"Next item is a flower of sorts..." Azrael commented, blinking at the riddle. He saw Lion and something that involved happy... A dandelion? Really?

"Cuz the pocket," Loki pointed to the picture with a smile. "Money's in pockets." Of course, the toddler would never admit to what else he carried in his pockets. "Flowers?" he repeated, grinning. There was a patch of grass near by, filled with dandelions and tiny daisies. "Like those?" he asked.

He made his way to the patch of flowers. "What kinda flower?"

Azrael grinned at the explanation. Loki really was similar to his brother. "Yeah, like those!" he replied, picking two dandelions and handing one to Loki. "These kind; a dandelion. Next is a leaf o' sorts," he continued, glancing at the picture and riddle. A leaf, but a certain kind. He hopes Loki would have a good idea as to what it would be.
