Lounging on her back under the shade of an over-hanging branch, a girl enjoyed the comfortable weather of a sunny afternoon. She laid atop a white wall, ignoring the humans as they wandered past. Demi had gotten lunch already, so the two-legged creatures were boring for the moment, and she hadn't seen Belle around lately. The Bobtail sighed to herself; she was bored and lonely. Turning her head slightly, bronze-colored eyes stared off across the street into the nearby park. Something needed to happen today....

Aliel was making her way through the area, following along a wall she'd never seen before. Looking up at the high wall, she was somewhat happy that she couldn't get up there--the hybrid had a feeling she would topple off of it.
Every now and again the kitten would lose her balance, stumbling to the side and catching herself with a flick of her tail. Caught~ Thank goodness.
Licking her lips with a low purr, she wiggled along, lightly bumping her shoulder into the wall as she went. It was so nice out, how could she resist going outside and running around for a while?

As Demi dozed lightly, she was vaguely aware of an occasional vibration trembling in her fur, accompanied by the soft thrumming of a purr. Gradually, the sound and the thumping got closer until something seemed to run into the wall nearly right under the sleeping bobtail. Bronze eyes snapped open and Demi tilted an ear back to listen for whatever was below her. Yawning widely, the girl rolled her head to peer over the edge of the wall. At first, her sleepy eyes fought to focus on the golden brown blob below her, but soon enough it's shape came to resemble a young cat. Rolling onto her belly, the dappled bobtail folded her arms under her chin, allowing them to rest on the edge of the wall, and grinned down at the younger female. "Yo." She mewed to the girl, amusement glimmering in her eyes. Finally, something to do.

Aliel jumped when she was spoken to, looking up instantly to the other bobtail.
Blinking, her tail flicked around eagerly--much like a dog--and she grinned up at the other female. "Hello!" She chimed happily, giggling at how loud she was compared to the other female, "What're you doin' up there?"
Twisting around, she propped her front paws against the wall and stood on her hind legs, finding this a bit easier to keep balance since she was stabilized against the wall.

Demi fought the giggles rising in her throat as she watched the younger girl; she had to remain cool in front of this impressionable kit after all. Flicking an ear at her question, the bobtail yawned and grinned back, "Napping. At least, I was until a few moments ago." All in good fun, the small, dappled cat allowed her eyes to observe the half-tail that the younger hybrid sported. "Cute tail, but you don't appear to be too good at using it yet, huh?" Demi slid off the wall, landing in a crouch next to the girl and looking up at her with interest, "It's harder for us; cats who have short tails. So, I can understand." Standing up straight, the girl took a moment to straighten out her clothes and pat the dust from her black skirt, then she held out her hand to the younger cat. "I'm Demi. What should I call you?"

Aliel smiled at her brightly, watching her as she moved on the wall, wishing she could do the same. She was almost wiggling with excitement when the woman spoke to her, really liking to meet new people. And when she complimented her tail, she giggled and waggled it from side to side.
"Thanks! I love my tail--but you're right, I cant use it well. mama says I cant climb anything until I learn to use it--and my claws," she chuckled a bit at this and watched her jump off the wall, sliding down to all fours once more...and nearly toppling again. Aliel really wasn't good with this whole walking thing.
"I'm Aliel. Nice to meet you, Demi!" Peering over her shoulder, Aliel cocked her head and flicked her tail, "I like your tail, too. It's like my sister's."

Demi smiled at the girl and at the compliment on her short appendage. "Aliel, huh? Well, I think your mom is right in her instruction, it'd be dangerous to go climbing around if you can't even walk straight yet." Holding up a finger, the bobtail wagged it teasingly and winked at her. "I'm willing to help you learn though. Being at such a disadvantage to other cats with their fancy, long tails, we really need to stick together." It had been a while since she had been able to play with anyone, and Demi was beginning to have fun playing 'big sister.' Holding both arms out to the sides, the dappled cat began walking neatly around Aliel in a half circle. Her stubby tail rose slightly out of instinct, but didn't offer much in the way of balance. "The first thing you need to do is find your center of gravity. Instinct will tell you to rely on your tail to maintain balance, but when you're born with a half tail or shorter, it won't be easy. Try to center yourself over all four paws, distributing your weigh equally among them as you walk." And thus Demi's instruction began. Eagerly, the tail-less cat watched the younger girl through glimmering bronze eyes.
