Haemon awoke with Raelin next to him, whom was still sleeping contently. He watched her sleep and a contented smile played upon his maw. She was incredibly attractive, she was lean and slender in build but with enough flesh on her to soften the outline of her skeleton frame. She was a considerable bit smaller than himself, not much larger than Moghedien, whom he had had the pleasure of meeting only once so far. Her coat was glossy and well kept; all in all she pleased his eye. But what pleased his heart was that she knew his story and yet she still desired to sleep next to him, to place herself under his protection and guidance and part of him even suspected that she was beginning to care for him romantically.

What brought him out of the trance like state he had entered watched her sleep was a scratching noise coming from the den’s entrance. He looked up and his eyes came to rest upon a large raven hopping into the den. Haemon’s eyes narrowed and a growl sounded deep in his throat, ‘Get out Munin and tell my vile brothers to leave me in peace.’

The raven tilted his head to one side, his beady eyes glowing with what seemed like humour and he croaked back,
‘Since when did you dictate to me, I am bonded to your fathers and I do as they command.’ Haemon’s eyes narrowed and he rose carefully as not to disturb Raelin and then strode purposely at the raven, who called in a manner that sounded much like a laugh and then hopped once, twice and the took to wing and disappeared from sight.

Haemon strode out of the den and looked about.

Geri saw Munin fly out from Haemon’s den and he readied himself, crouching down slightly to get a bit of spring in his legs and as he saw Haemon come forth out of his den he leapt at him, his teeth sinking into the vulnerable flesh of his sons neck, though not enough to cause a great deal of damage and he took the large, though leaner wolf down.

Haemon was too late to react, his senses still hazy with sleep; he had not sensed his brother waiting. He was tackled to the grown, Geri now pinning him down with his fore paws and he felt, with relief, Geri release him from about his throat. He swallowed, try to ease the pain and stared up with bloody eyes at his brother. He growled, ‘Get off me or I shall kill you, here and now.’

‘You wouldn’t dare.’

Geri’s eyes widen in shocked horror as he increased his heart beat to such a level if it was to continue he would have a heart attack. Geri twisted his head and open his jaw just about ready to lunge downwards at his throat…

From the undergrowth Freki entered the clearing about Haemon’s den and he snarled with humour at the sight. ‘Brother, get off him and Haemon pack it in.’ He walked forwards, coming up next to the two other wolves. He looked down at his son, ‘Munin tells me you have a female in your den, is she pretty? Not that it matters, but I would prefer it.’

Haemon wiggled and strained under Geri’s weight, but it was no use, his brother had him pinned. He snarled up at Freki, ‘Leave her alone Freki or I shall kill you both… in a heart beat.’

The commotion outside was enough to bring Raelin from her sleep, and she heard the voices. The female stayed quiet and still, not wanting to alert either of the males to her presence. Fear rushed through her, and she was unsure of what to do. Should she hide within the den and hope to be unnoticed? That ran the risk of the brothers finding her and being able to pin her easily.

Going out, though, would risk her even more. She didn't want to make it seem like she wished to challange either of Haemon's fathers, for she was not stupid and knew they would over power her easily.

Her heart told her that she didn't wish to look submissive to the two, but she knew that anything but that might upset them greatly. Haemon seemed so very concerned about this moment.. She was too. The story about the two wolves and their vicious tendencies frightened her greatly.

Slowly, the female moved to stand within the den, taking each step in a painfully slow manner. With a deep breath, she moved from the den and stared at the scene before her. The two still had a lot of power of Haemon, it seemed, and her heart ached a little at the sight.

They caused him so much pain.. She had a feeling that they would continue to do so, and felt powerless to help him.

Her eyes slid shut and she bowed her head in a polite manner, showing respect to the two males.

Freki’s eyes widened as the petite female emerged room Haemon’s den. Haemon had been very fortunate to find himself such a pretty companion, if that was all there was too it, but Freki doubted that, he knew Haemon had thirsts and desires like any other. He watched as she bowed her head, submissive as well, Freki was impressed with his son. He approached the female, his voice a soften growl, ‘Come now my pretty, lift that head of yours and let me see your eyes.’

Haemon twisted his head as best he could while Geri had him pinned to the ground and he stared with bloody eyes at Raelin. Showing respect, she had started on the fight paw, but she could not continue to be submissive now, he hoped she could show a little fire in her eyes when she rose them for Freki and he didn’t doubt she would, for he had yet to see it vacant from them.

Geri seemed to have become distracted by taking in Raelin as she had come out from the head and he felt his weight lighten. Haemon took advantage of this and twisted to try and get one of his forepaws underneath himself and push himself free. He was only half successful, Geri quickly turning his attentions back to him and slamming him back to the ground. Haemon, with his foreleg still underneath him, felt it crack and he snarled in pain. Geri lunged down at him and grabbed him by the neck, his fangs drawing blood and pushed this throat to the ground, his brother snarled at his through a mouthful of his flesh,
‘Stay down, pup or I’ll kill you and then the b***h once we’ve had our way with her.’

Haemon had had enough of this foolishness; the pain in his foreleg and the puncture wounds to the flesh in his neck was quite enough he was willing to take as a welcoming. He focused on Geri and his circulatory system, slowly beginning to form a blood clot close to his heart in the aorta. Soon Geri would feet a pain in his left foreleg, so he held still until then.

Geri’s eyes widened, a cramping sensation accruing in his chest not long followed by shots of pain coursing down his left foreleg. His breath became ragged and he snarled breathlessly through the pain at the runt beneath him, ‘b*****d.’ He released him, and pulled away from the lean male and stumbled back before slumping to the ground, curling in pain.

Haemon pushed himself up, his foreleg wasn’t broken, just bruised and sore and so he put most of his weight on his right. He shook himself out calmly and in his usual calm voice he addressed the brother that was still standing. ‘Come away from her Freki, back to your bloody brother or I shall kill him and you’ll follow not long after.’

Freki stared at Raelin and then shook his head sadly and addressed the beautiful female, ‘I’m afraid my dear, I’ll have to see those eyes of yours from a distant, your mate isn’t being very hospitable and I must do as he asks to save my beloved brother.’ He took a backwards step from her and then turned smoothly and calmly walked away, towards Haemon.

Upon reaching Haemon’s side he paused, his eyes narrowing but he said nothing and then walked over to Geri and nudged him softly with his nose, whispering darkly, ‘Cut it out now Haemon.’

Haemon focused upon the blood clot and started to break it down, the blood flow return to normal, though Geri would feel worn and tired for a few hours, now he just had to focus on Freki, though of course he would not totally ignore Geri, that would just be foolish. He looked at Raelin and walked over to her and silently turned about to stand at her side, towering protectively over the petite female. He looked over at Freki, whom was now rising from checking his brother and turning back to him.

'I do not believe that to be a very friendly welcoming son.'

'Son, we've had this discussion before Freki and I will not have it with you again. Though on your first point, neither do I call it friendly being brought down by my throat outside my own den.'

Geri rose from where he had collapsed and he laughed breathlessly, 'Just a bit of play fighting, pup, can't you handle that.'

'Obviously, for I was not the one slumped on the floor a moment ago, old man.'

Geri growled darkly and edged forwards, 'Your tricks are not something I can compete with.'

Haemon smiled knowingly and looked Geri in the eye who only seemed to grow angrier. Freki intervened and smiled politely, almost honestly. 'Stop this nonsense, we are all family here.' He looked at Haemon and added, 'In some form or another. Tell us Haemon, who is the pretty female by your side?'

Haemon stared Freki in the eye for a moment, bloody red meeting with emerald green and then he blinked and looked down at Raelin, allowing her to introduce herself, hoping she'd now show a little of her spirit.

She had not lifted her head, but did so the moment he stepped away. There was a distinct storm building beneathe him, her inner thunder rolling in a dangerous manner. They were too rough on Haemon and it was more than Raelin could stand to watch.

Raelin had to be nice. She had no choice. If she dared to attack or snap at the two males, they could easily rip her in half.

Watching Haemon easily get the upper hand when using his Shaman abilities.. it was almost a little frightening. He truly had a great power unlike any she had ever met before, but she trusted him not to harm her in any way. Their mutual trust is very important.

Still, when Haemon hinted that she wanted her to introduce herself, she couldn't help herself. "My name is Raelin. I would say it would be an honor to meet you, as my mother taught me to be polite, alas. These circumstances don't seem to carry much honor in them." Her words were not overly harsh, but her tone had a bit of a bite to it that showed how displeased she was at the treatment of Haemon.

He already meant a lot to her.

Ah, perhaps not the wiset of words, but Raelin was never one to truly shut her trap unless she had to. It had been a trait that got her into trouble even as a pup, barking at squirrels to leave her father's lands.

Geri snapped his head up, still having it hung down recovering from his heart attack. His emerald eyes, the twins of his brothers, shone and he curled his lip in warning at the female, ‘Watch your tongue girl or I’ll have it out of your mouth in the blink of an eye.’

Freki smiled crookedly in much the same characteristic way as his son Haemon, though his eyes held a light that all in all made the gesture very cruel. He broke his eye contact with Raelin and looked briefly across at his brother and quietened him, watching as Geri sat himself detectably down upon the earth beneath him, but his eyes were still slightly narrowed as he held his gaze onto Haemon and Raelin, he’d never lose sight of his target, or knowledge of where they were. Freki turned back and focused upon the Raelin once again though addressed Haemon, ‘your b***h has some fire to her, I see; you’ve done well for yourself.’

Haemon retorted, ‘She just introduced herself as Raelin, Freki, not b***h and neither is she mine.

‘Well then, perhaps I could make her mine?’

‘So you can share her with Geri? I don’t think so. Neither do I think she’d have you.’ He didn’t look at Raelin but he could sense the fire in her boiling. ‘Enough of this Freki, what do you want here?’

‘Nothing, not really, we are members of this pack as well as yourself Haemon and it is our responsibility to protect the boarders. Raelin crossed them and we only wished to see if she was staying or leaving like the last female that shared your den.’ The smile Freki wore flickered slightly at the end and he winked at Raelin.

Haemon glowered and a dangerous tone tipped his words, ‘Raelin will stay in my den for as long as she sees fit, the alpha is aware of her presence. If there isn’t anything else…’ He left his words hanging.

Freki nodded, his smile slipping up the other side of his maw now as well, showing his humour. His eyes hadn’t left Raelin the whole time he add been speaking with Haemon. Now he advanced on the pair. He walked with a deadly efficiency, a little more gracefully than Geri’s swagger and he came to stand in front Raelin and bowed his head, lowering his eyes and pushing his weight back slightly, curling with head down to rest upon his left fore leg. He felt Geri’s eyes upon him from behind, he trusted his brother to watch the female while he was in this vulnerable position. After a moment he rose to stand in front of her, his emerald eyes sparkling darkly, ‘My apologies, Raelin, if my brother and I have caused you any offence.’

Raelin snarled, unable to keep herself silent with the way Freki spoke of her. It infurated her, making it harder and harder for her to keep from lunging at the male, wanting nothing more than to sink her teeth in the other's flesh and furr. How dare he speak of her in such a manner! No one was allowed to get away with doing such.

The mention of Aitou again made her heart ache badly, mixed with the fact that Haemon denied any ownership of her whatsoever. Freki was good, he struck at exactly what easily made her flinch. She should not have expected less from any of these males. They were obviously quite good at reading her weaknesses.

She had to admit she was surprised when he moved forward, bowing a little to her. She could not attack the other, the temptation was there without a doubt.

But what was she to say to the male? She didn't want to let him off so easily, nor did she want to show vunerablity. They always seemed to hold the upper hand.

"Your apologizes are accepted," Came her reply, head turned up so that her nose was in the air, as though she was looking down upon him. "Please feel free to take your leave now that you have checked me out."

Freki smiled, even with his head still bowed, he knew she could not have done anything else. Well she could have done but doing so would have been foolishness, she did not stand a chance with Geri watching over him, though of course there was Haemon. Freki knew the male would tire if he continued to use his Shaman abilities for a prolonged amount of time, but the nature of his talents meant that this didn’t really matter, he’d of controlled any situation Geri and Freki could throw at him. Freki thought this over, the tacticians mind working quickly as always, perhaps then Raelin had not seen the full extend of Haemon’s skill, or she would of perhaps attacked him already. Freki could use this, perhaps for a time, until she did in fact learn what her chosen partner could do.

He lifted himself to stand erect in front of her again and his smiled remained, dark, malicious and cruel. ‘Don’t be so hasty now, or are you telling me you have nothing else of offer, nothing else to ‘check out’. Now that would be a shame and I’d not give Haemon so much credit then as I thought there was more to you than this…

Haemon stood and watched as Freki edged closer, he knew his family, he knew Geri was the brawn and Freki the brains but he also did not forget the fact Freki was also a gifted warrior, just not with the brute force Geri possessed. He felt uncomfortable having him standing so close to Raelin. His own safety, he was not concerned about, as he knew that the pair would not kill him; he was of too much use to them. Raelin however he was sure if they felt like it, they’d kill her without hesitation.

He watched carefully as Freki bowed to her, he knew the game he was playing and he tensed to see how Raelin would react to it. He saw her delemour, Freki was now being courteous, she could not attack him now, or she'd be contradicted her earlier statement of honour. Though Haemon did not like how Freki was speaking to her or behaving towards her, he wanted Raelin to learn and to deal with the situation without his interference. However he would take charge of the situation should it become out of her paws.

Once again, her jaw tightened and she pondered just snapping at the male to stay as far away fromher as possible. As a female, she was bound to be rather emotional, though she was worst than most due to her high insecurity level.

Finally, she opened her maw once more, staring at the other with that ever-growing storm looking vicious inside of her eyes. "Surely if you are as wise as you appear, you would already know that there is more to me than can be explained in a simple greeting. Assuming that you could fully come to know me within the first few moments is simply unrealistic."

She hadn't meant to imply that they needed to stay around longer, and once she realized what she said, she felt like gnawing on her own paw to punish herself. Hopefully, they wouldn't see it that way. The two were quite wise though, they knew just how to push her buttons.

The bow to her again made her huff a little, tempted to roll her eyes if not for the fact that he wanted to watch the other at all times. They could easily kill her, but she did hope Haemon would prevent that.

"I doubt you would understand me even if we were to have an indepth converstation, so it is best that you go now."

A flutter of feather indicated Hugin's arrival, he flew down to Geri and landed lightly, a few inches away and cawed softly in his ear and then with a slightly flurry of his wings he raised up and flew up to join his partner, Munin, within the branches above and both looked down over the clearing where the wolves gathered.

Geri cocked his head ever so slightly to take in what the raven had to say and then he simply righted his head and sad nothing, Freki would know.

Freki did not take his eyes from Raelin but his ears did flicker ever so slightly as he caught the sound of ruffling feathers. Then he addressed Raelin again, his smile still broad though now slightly curved in humour at her reply, 'You choose your words well my dear and there is true within them, but as for not understanding, maybe, maybe not but perhaps we will have that in depth conversation and find out.' He paused, staring at her unblinkingly each of his words seeming to hold a double meaning and then he announced, 'But atlas duty calls and my brother and I must be off. Another time.' The last two words were not a question more a confirmation.

He took one last look at Raelin and then turned side on and took a step to line himself with Haemon, he looked straight on for an extended second and then twisted his head to met his son's bloody eyes and said a quick good bye, 'Soon.' He said simply and then turned his back on Haemon, walked casually over to meet his brother. He paused and allowed Geri to pass him a few chosen words and then the two brothers left the clearing at a slow trot without a backwards glance.

The two Ravens in the trees above watched Haemon and Raelin for a moment, they beady black eyes double checking that their wolf companions were not followed and then with a quick push, both took off from their perches and twisted in mid air to turn and follow Geri and Freki.

Haemon relaxed his muscles as he saw Geri and Freki disappear, waiting an allocated amount of time before turning his head slightly and looking down at Raelin who stood at his side. She had handled herself so well and stood fearlessly in front of Freki, he admired her for that, for everything. He genuinely at her, a mixture of pride and humour, why couldn't she have been a little kinder with him at their first meeting? 'Well done.' There was no patronising tone to his voice, he meant it and he knew it'd mean a lot to her, she had come so far already.

Perhaps later Haemon would go hunting with her but for now he simply wanted to go back within his den and rest his bruised leg, his shaman abilities would not heal the damaged tissue, only time.

It was much easier to relax with Freki and Geri gone. When she heard his words, she snapped out of her thoughts and gave a bright smile at him. was he.. proud of her? That made her heart leap a little, thinking that perhaps the two of them were really working out the way she had hoped. She did care for him, even if it was a little soon. She had been working hard to both keep herself safe and impress him. If she managed both, then she would be very happy.

In a bold move, she leaned to nuzzle a little into the male's neck fur, her eyes sliding shut to hide from any upset gaze he may give her for stealing such a contact from him. It was for comfort.. She knew he had to be in pain from the way his fathers treated them.

"We should go rest, Haemon." For she might not be wounded, but she was quite tired after such a dramatic meeting with the two males. She bowed her head a little to him before sitting so that she could wait for his words or movement.

She was happy to follow him for now.

Haemon stood erect and tensed the vast majority of his muscles in shock as the female nuzzled into him. He was not use to such physically attentions and it shocked him, granted he had nuzzled and licked her once or twice when in the den last night, but this open display of affection from the female was alien to him. But he soon relaxed his muscles again and he grew in the knowledge that the female was warming to him, that she seemed to genuinely like being around him perhaps even caring for his well being. He tucked his chin in and stared down at her as she stood nuzzling his neck and a small smile played upon his maw and then lifting his head again, rolling his eyes heaven wards he thanked whatever greater force their was for giving him this rare moment.

She pulled away from him and as if reading his thoughts announced that she would like to them both to rest for a time, he nodded his reply and as he shifted his weight to turn about he closed his eyes tight as his bruised leg ached numbly. He walked slowly, trying not to place to much weight on his left leg, back into the security of their den and then before he made himself comfortable he allowed Raelin to join him and settle herself first.

Raelin watched silently as Haemon made his way to the den. She didn't want to comment and make him feel like she thought he was weak--but she was concerned for him. She didn't want him to make his wound any worse than it needed to be.

As he pused to let her settle herself first, she gave a lick to his maw and moved past him to curl up in the warmth of the den. She laid on her side, her eyes remaining open so she could watch to see if he would lay with her once more. Perhaps she was becoming a bit of an attention whore, but at least now she was trying hard to get positive attention for doing the right things.

"If you would rather not talk about it, I would understand, but.. I am quite curious, Haemon.."

She furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to figure out how she wanted to phrase what she would ask him. "Your fathers.. You seem very tolerant of them, when you could easily over power them with your powers."

He watched her, not with his usual bloody eyes that seemed to pierce straight through the targets skin but he actually looked at her, he observed the way she move, the way she walked and with grace lowered and curled herself up on the floor of the den. He gauged from the nuzzle earlier and the lick now that she did not mind his physical attentions at all, quite the opposite for she seemed to be encouraging them. So bravely he came to position himself standing at her back, towering over her before lowering himself to the floor carefully as not to strain his damaged leg to much and curled himself about the petite female.

He placed his hips about hers, his groin close to her rump and his long legs flayed out beyond any of her extremities. He pressed his stomach to her back and then playfully took a mouthful of her scruff in his mouth and sunk in his teeth ever so slightly before releasing her and then curling his forelegs about her head and resting his own on his forelegs, parallel to her head.

He listened to her cautiously ask if he minded her questioning her, he answered her, 'Not at all, I believe I owe you a few answers.' The question that followed did not surprise him for he had asked himself it many a time but he smiled slightly and answered with a question, 'Tell me Raelin, if you was to see your father tomorrow, would you tolerate him or your mother, for what they have put you through?.' He paused before answering the question truly, 'I tolerate them because they are my fathers as they tolerate me as their son.'

To the second part to her question a humorous tone caressed his words, 'Over power them, you think so?' Did she really think that, had she really noticed he was the one that was truly in control back there. 'Perhaps, my shaman abilities are stronger than most others I've ever come across but this is not always a blessing and neither does it mean I should always draw upon them.' He smiled and rolled his eyes sideways to try and catch hers, 'As you don't always draw upon that temper of yours; there is a time and place for everything...my love.' The two words came slowly, hesitantly but he believed he meant them, or soon would.

As the male positioned himself behind her, she squirmed a little so that she could press fully back against him. She felt quite warm with the other curled up with her, and it made her happier than she could remember being in some time.

The playful bite made her give a small bark in response, one that showed her contentment. They were acting much closer, she -felt- much closer.. How did Haemon do this to her?

The mention of her father, however, had her tense and she closed her eyes as she tried to think. Her gut reaction would be just to attack him, to ruin him for the way he ruined her. Her feelings for his mother weren't so tainted, though she still held anger in her heart. Her father could easily over power her and kill her, however, so attacking him wouldn't be wise.. She shook her head a little to get those thoughts out. This wasn't about her, this was about him.

At first, she was going to whine and flip so she could kick at him playfully for talking about her temper, but she paused at the way he ended his words. Love? She got a bit shy at that moment as she did what she could to tuck her head in next to his.

"There is always a place for my temper, my love. You just don't know it." Her lips curled into a smile, giving a soft laugh and shaking her head. She was teasing, of course.

Haemon smiled once again at her jest and couldn't help but laugh softly himself, 'Oh really now, where would you place it right now then?' he liked the idea of this gentle banter between them but also it was not lost upon him, the mode of her reply. She had answered his declaration of love with her own and deep down he felt his heart warm. For all the years of willing and wanting any form of affection from his fathers or any of his family members he was finally getting something he never imaged he'd be blessed with, the love of a female.

He looked through her now, to the flow of blood about her body and how close it flowed next to his. He could of fallen asleep just feeling the too pulses beating so close to one another, almost hypnotic.
