Quiet days were always nice... Lee was sprawled out on the couch, face squished against the arm of the seat, sighing a bit at being able to be lazy. A lazy Lee was a happy Lee, after all. Sure, she'd been "invited" to study with Lauss quiet a few times today, but for the moment, she was unbothered. No responsibilities to worry about. Homework done, home cleaned, and lunch taken care of. Not that she'd done the last two, but the point remains that they didn't have to be worried about. How pleasant.
Where was Rory at the moment? She didn't know, and she was too lazy to find out. At the sound of a soft -- very soft -- tap at the door, Lee sighed, looking around to see if Rory heard it and planned to answer, and decided this one was on her. Sitting up and reluctantly pushing herself off of the couch, the girl managed to the door, pulling it open to find no one before her. Then where was that crying sound coming from? Eyes falling to her feet, she only just then noticed the source of the whimpers. A little girl? A very little girl... What did she want?
The little girl wiped at her tear stained cheeks, whispering a small "Mama..." as she kept her eyes glued to the ground.
"Uhhh..." Lee's eyes were wide as she stared down at the small child before her. What was she, three years old? Why was she alone?! Turning her head back inside, Lee called out to Rory a moment before looking back down at the child, clearly uncomfortable to be in her presence.

Rory came in from the back of the house where he'd been tending their garden, wiping dirt from his hands with a rag he'd tied to a belt loop. Never mind that the rest of the bare-chested boy was just as dirty. "What's wrong, Lee?" He stopped when he saw the girl. "Who's your friend?"

Lee looked helplessly to Rory, shaking her head and shrugging before glancing down at the girl. She was a pampered little thing, it seemed. Her light brown hair was combed to perfection, her little dress without a spot on it, and... she was wearing shoes. She wasn't from Farstep, it was clear. Lee grew even more uncomfortable when the little girl looked up at her, noticing that they had almost the exact same eye color. Wow. This girl eerily resembled a young Lee, aside from the pale skin and light freckles. "What... um... what's your name?" The only answer she was given was a small wail from the girl, and Lee backed up as the tiny child waddled over to Rory and clung to his leg.

Rory blinked, looking down at the poor child, resting a hand on her head. He looked up at Lee, puzzlement clear in his white eyes. "Where did she come from?" Managing to pry the child off him, he knelt down. "Hey there, lass. What's your name, eh?"

Lee didn't know the answer to that, either. She sighed a bit, shaking her head in response. Shuffling her feet a bit, she eventually moved to stand beside Rory, rubbing her arm nervously as she looked at the child.
The little girl's face made all sorts of odd expressions as she seemed to search for what to say. Rubbing her eyes with a tiny fist, she eventually answered, "Lynn." The little girl was unusually well-spoken for her age, not mispronouncing a thing so far. Then again, she'd only said two words. Little Lynn eventually looked up at Rory, frowning as she noticed he was A) shirtless, and B) dirty. She backed away from him, starting to cry a bit more. Where ever this was and whoever these people were, it was clear this wasn't home.

Rory frowned a bit in thought and concern. "Where are you from then, Lynn? Are you lost?"

The little girl just pouted, looking to the ground. Eventually, she answered his question with a small, pathetic nod before crying even harder. "Mama..." she said again, plopping into a heap on the ground to continue her sobbing. "Hungry... Mama telled me... I can has cotton candies." So much for being well spoken. At least she didn't have speech impediments, and she was easy enough to understand.
Lee scratched her cheek, looking around with unease. They didn't have cotton candy lying around the house, did they? For once, Rhian would have come in handy... Lee went to searching the kitchen for something that could substitute the fluffy treat, mostly just wanting to get away from the kid for as long as she could.

Rory stood up, edging to the kitchen door so as not to leave the child completely alone. "Lee, there's some cookies on th' counter. How about gettin' a few o' them an' some juice fae our little visitor? Also, can you get me a shirt, love?" He walked back to the girl and knelt down next to her again. "Lynn? Where's your mama, darlin'?"

"I can't finds her..." she peeped, and the little girl's lip trembled a bit. Lynn whimpered, folding her arms and legs and curling into a ball, hiding her face from the dirty man before her.
Lee mumbled to herself as she found the cookies and poured some juice, a bit upset that her relaxation was over. And to help out a kid, of all the things... She set the snack down on the kitchen table before hurrying to the bedroom and fetching the first shirt of Rory's she could find, coming back and handing it to him. Avoiding looking at the little pile of frills and brunette hair on the ground, Lee cleared her throat before mentioning, "There's cookies in there, if you want some..."
Lynn didn't respond, only curling up tighter.

Rory tugged the shirt on after untying the rag and using it to wipe the rest of himself clean. He stood up and looked at Lee, shrugging. He was used to little girls, but even he was at a loss of what to do with the child. He went to the kitchen and got the cookies and juice and brought them back to where Lynn was, setting them down before her then sat down and waited for the girl to calm down a little.

At the sound of the plate of cookies hitting the floor, Lynn tilted her head up just enough to where she could poke an eye open and spot the snack. Burying her face again, she squirmed a bit, waiting a long while before she quickly reached out a hand and snatched the first cookie, turning her back on Rory and Lee to nibble on it.
Lee simply cocked an eyebrow, finding Lynn was more difficult than most kids she'd come into contact with. Then again, she was lost. She supposed she'd be upset, too, if she thought she'd never see her family again. Well... ignore the fact that she hated her family...

Rory smiled, reaching out to stroke the little girl's back reassuringly. "There you are, lass. It's alreet. W'll help you find your mommy again. Do you remember where you saw her last?"

Seeming to ignore Rory's questions, Lynn turned around, a frown on her face, but the crying stopped for now. "I doesn't like these cookies..." she told the boy, holding out a hand-full of half-chewed cookie. It wasn't even worthy of being swallowed, apparently. "I want cotton candies."

Rory arched a brow. "W' ain't got any. Cotton candy's not really gonna help if'n your hungry anyway. I can make you some lunch if you want an' then w' can all gae find your mommy." He looked at Lee to help him out with this.
