Kumoru followed Bhel to the Fa'e headquarters, actually dressed fully in his robes and armor for a change. Something had come through the house a few days prior, and the necromancer knew enough of things dark and evil to be able to tell that whatever it was had not been there with good intentions. Bhel had been agitated and nervous... moreso than usual, but fortunately the school system had a long weekend scheduled.

Not that the extra time at home would have prompted Bhel to really talk about anything with his guardian. Even though the bull Fa'e had learned to talk quite some time ago, he was still largely not very communicative with Kumoru.

So it had been a somewhat troubling surprise when Bhel had come down for breakfast that morning and handed Kumoru a scrap of paper, and told him simply that they had to go to the Fa'e HQ and the mage had to come, too.

Bhel did not resent his guardian, or hate him, or mistrust him. He just ... did not really feel it necessary to share every detail of his life with Kumoru. With his recent growth and maturity, though, he had found that he respected the man. And whatever had happened a few days before, though, had instilled in the bull child a particular desire to at least remain close to him.

He also knew that, when smarts were required, Kumoru would always be able to help.

So when he had awakened that morning from a dream quite unlike the adventure in the rainstorm, one that left him on the edge of panic with fear of disappearing, he knew to go to his guardian. If nothing else, Kumoru would know what to do with the scrap of paper that had been mashed in his palm, gripped tightly in his terrified fingers upon waking. Though his growing fear still gnawed at him, some primal feeling deep inside him knew that he could at least count on Kumoru, somehow, to keep him from disappearing.

Bhel was concerned that Kumoru did not seem to know what the paper meant (though his fear gave way at least for a moment to allow some pride that he was able to read many of the words written on it all by himself), but they both agreed that the next step would be to return to the Fa'e Headquarters, to see if anyone else knew anything about what any of this meant.

Aylana sat in front of Fa'e Head Quarters once again. She gone home long enough to get a shower in as well as food, only to return back to the very spot she been most of the evening. Her mind trying to process over everything going on.

It been one of those days, where she just wanted to forget. Too much had happen, and she wasn't honestly sure as to how much more she could take. She been keeping strong so far, for anyone who she crossed paths with or just needed a smile.

But being alone again, left to her own thoughts as she stares at the building. She wanted to cry and break something. The two fa'es she was hoping to see, she hadn't seen. And that was worrying her even more, what if something had happen and she would never even know.

Hiding her face again her knees, she shakes her head as she attempts to take in a deep breath.

A deep relief filled Bhel's stomach, squishing at least some of the scared butterflies that were cohabiting with his breakfast waffles in there. There was a familiar figure seated in front of the building.

"Mom!" he called out, his skirt rustling around his knees as he ran to his mother. And, rather unexpectedly, his eyes filled over with tears. It had been a long time since he had last seen Aylana, and right now, a hug from her seemed like it would definitely make things better.

"Aylana," Kumoru sighed at the same time, brows furrowing with concern as he lengthened his stride to follow Bhel to her. Whatever awkwardness from their previous meeting he expected to carry over to their next was the least of his concerns as he saw the weariness and upset in her posture and her face. Something was definitely wrong, and the wrongness had not visited the Asahi household only.

"What's wrong?" he asked, half-reaching out towards her with one hand, but allowing her and her son their space for the moment. "Do you know what's been happening?"

Looking up as her name is called, Aylana found herself growing paler as her son comes running towards her. She was unable to get up or move by the time she felt the arms of Bhel wrap around her neck. Hugging him close, she hides her face as the tears fall. She couldn't talk, the only sign that she was even showing emotion was her shoulder shaking as she holds Bhel close to her.

"My little man, I thought I never see you again." her voice was barely above a whisper as she pulls back, the tears run down her face as she look him over. Her eyes taking int he fact that he grew and seem to be okay. Hugging him close again, she rest her head on top of his as she looks up at Kumoru.

She was honestly happy to see him well. With a small nod, she looks down at her son as she runs her hand over his back "Chaos attacked during the night, going after the guardians of the Fa'e children. Its taken over head Quarters also. We can't get in.."

The young Fa'e kept his face buried in his mother's clothes as he sniffled, trying to stop his tears. He did not like crying, especially since he was outside where people could see him and all, but he felt another tear that was not his brush past his cheek, and ... knowing that Mom was crying too made it seem not as bad.

What was that about Aylana never seeing him again, though?

"Mom, what's wrong?"

As Aylana answered the question, Kumoru turned to look at the front door to the place, tensing slightly.

"Chaos?" he repeated, one hand straying to his neck. That had to have been what had attempted to attack him in his sleep, then. "Is the one inside the only one? Or are there more than one of it?" He had not caught sight of whatever it had been except in his dream - and even then, the necromancer had only really seen tendrils of darkness.

Then, after a moment, he asked, "Is it safe to be here?"

Looking down at Bhel, Aylana lifts her hand to brush at his cheek. The tears still fell, but she didn't hide them from him "Nothing sweetie, I was just missing you. So these are tears of happiness. I get to hold my big brave son in my arms again." kissing his forehead, she tries her best to remain happy and calm for him. She didn't want to scare him with everythign going on around them.

Looking up at Kumoru, she turns her eyes back towards the building "I'm not honestly sure what is inside, but I know its from Chaos. might even be Chaos itself." she pauses as she shakes her image from her mind "I've been here most of the evening, and beside the crows it seems to be okay. I just don't want to go back to my apartment by myself."

Bhel forced a small smile and nodded, then reached for Aylana's hand with both of his own. "I missed you, too, Mom," he told her, voice cracking a little until he cleared his throat.

Then he turned around to look back up to Kumoru, and, posing the question to both adults, asked, "Is Chaos the cold scary thing that was in the house a few nights ago, too?"

"I guess so," Kumoru murmured, not really wanting to frighten the child with his answer, but at the same time not wanting to keep him in the dark. Whatever had transpired had left Bhel deeply troubled as well. Talking around it would not help the boy's fears.

"Is your guardian alright?" he asked Aylana, hoping it was not a sensitive subject.

With a nod, Aylana brushes her finger's through Bhel's hair as she thinks for a moment "Yes, Chaos was the cold thing from a few nights ago. But its okay Bhel. Nothing will happen to you, Kumoru and I won't let anything happen to you." she falls quiet as Kumoru as her a question about her guardian.

Looking up, she couldn't speak as she felt the knot form in her throat. Shaking her head, she blinks back the tears for a moment. She refused to think about it, and she didn't want to cry. She just started making her son Bhel smile.

Kumoru met Aylana's gaze for a moment and nodded once, a rare look of concern slipping across his features briefly. He said nothing more, though, and instead turned to examine the HQ.

Normally, he might want to study the black ooze that coated the building, but knowing that it had tried to kill him, the necromancer was less inclined to touch it. Instead, his thoughts went towards how to get rid of it as quickly as possible.

"You said no one can get in to the headquarters right now? Is anyone trapped inside? And... how long has it been like this? Just a few days, I guess, no?"

"How do we get rid of it?" Bhel asked, voice wavering again, though this time with a touch of anger to it. "So it won't try to make us disappear again. And so we can have our meeting place back."

Aylana shakes her head as she takes a steady breath in "No one is trapped inside, everyone who was inside got out. Thanks to Calcifer screaming from the fireplace. Its been like this since the attacks from what I have gathered from the others." looking down at Bhel, she shakes her head before she sighs. She was suppose to be able to answer his question.

"I really don't know how we get rid of it this time Bhel."

"That's good, at least," the necromancer sighed, stepping away from the building. He returned to Aylana's side and knelt on the grass beside her, fidgeting a bit to get comfortable with his armor on. "I guess the next question is if we will need to get inside to get rid of this thing, or if we can handle it from the outside."

His voice trailed off as he glanced between the ooze-covered building and the Fa'e woman, then reached out to touch her arm. Though pondering how to get rid of the Chaos was the best way he could deal with his shaken emotions, Kumoru could sense that his method, slipping into thought and rationality, would not do the trick for Aylana at the moment. He was just not sure what to say instead.

Bhel nodded and sighed, keeping hold on his mother's hand as he turned to peer at the HQ. "We'll think of something," he said after a moment, clenching his fists. "We gotta get it out."

Glancing at Kumoru as his hand touched her arm, she actually leans in close to hide her face for a moment. Pulling back she thought of the small paper she got that was in her pocket. Carefully not to disturb Bhel in her lap, she pulls it out before she holds it in front of them both "Did Bhel get one of these? I woke up with this in my hand.."

Shaking her head, she looks down at Bhel as she thinks "I think at this point, we need to worry about the others. There is no way in at this point, and from what I have heard. Touching that building will be your death."

Bhel looked at the scrap of paper and murmured the words aloud slowly, practicing his reading. He could not get all of them, though, and then looked up at his Guardian.

"Right," Kumoru said, giving the darkness-covered walls another wary glance. Then he settled down on the grass a little more comfortably, and reached into his sleeve to withdraw a similar scrap of paper. At Bhel's glance he leaned over to hand Aylana the paper Bhel had given him, and took hers to read it over quickly. The writing on the paper from the mage was smeared in a few places from Bhel's sweaty hands, but still legible:

Arching a brow, Aylana shakes her head "Lips like rubies...? That you might be mind? This one is about as confusing as mine is." sighing, she rest her head on top of Bhel's head. So far not a single one the these papers she seen were the same. And each one was a different writing, which was rather odd to her.

She was far too emotional and tired to think about this. Running her hand through Bhel's hair, she found herself smiling. Her little boy, he grown up. It made her wonder how much of a handful he was now.

"They're like riddles that we gotta solve. Maybe that's how we get rid of Chaos?" Bhel looked up at his mother and brushed some of his hair back away from his face where drying tears had made it stick to his cheeks. "We talked about this guy in school once who got a riddle from a monster and when he got it right, the monster died or went away or something."

A grin spread across his face as the bull Fa'e felt for once like he had contributed something important. The riddles themselves were too confusing for him, though. Like, how could someone's lips be like shiny jewelry? Maybe if they were really expensive...?

The necromancer scanned Aylana's paper again and returned it to her, then stood and offered her a hand to help her up as well. "Want to come back to my house for a little while and rest a little, then we can try putting our heads together over it again? Just being here is a little unnerving, which is not making it any easier for me to think."
