Well hi I am LDS but I have a problem, Im also 23 but thats not the problem, I do desire temple marriage one day, but I'm Convin C'd after being to BYU-I Formally Ri Ck's (I LOVED IT WHEN IT WAS RI Ck's BY THE WAY) that all Mormon guys want is a blea Ch blonde skinny minny LDS Cooking, houseworker who will give then 12 + kids in the end. I am 23, unmarrie, auburn hair 5'3" about 120 lbs. so please prove me wrong fellas, and make me think more of LDS males then FLAMMING IS NOT TOLLERATED AND WILL BE REPORTED, thanks.

12 + kids?! My mom could barely handle 12! eek Anywho, guys really shouldn't expect a perfect housewife who's a super model to boot(your 5' 3" and 120 lb? I'm jellious... I'm 5" 2.5" and 145 lb...). I'm betting that most of the guys here just want a girl that's fun to hang around. Also, beauty is strictly in the eye of the beholder. What's atractive to one guy is repulsive to another. Hey, I know of some guys that don't care if the girl is repulsive as long as she has two legs and is female.
What's wrong with being 23 and not married?! I have a sister who's 32 and single, and another who's 26, and one who's 24 and another one that's 21!(eleven siblings, remember. and even in the church, that's rare!) Now, if you want advice, don't complain about a serio type you once thought to be the normal idea. Just be yourself and have fun. Life's not stricly about getting married.

Maybe you just are seeing lots of stereo typical guys around. I know lots that aren't like that. Paladin for instance as well as his brother and many guys I know at the dances here. Ya, its a good idea to be a home maker and raise your kids. Doesn't mean you can't have a life when they get older and are in school. But raising them is a big job and one that is really needed. Anyway, there is someone out there for everyone, just be patient and the guy will come along when the time is right.

My "one and only" has red hair. She's kinda short, green/blue eyes, and not exactly a supermodel (even though I think she could be one if she wanted... wink ) And I'm at BYU provo! I really kinda wonder who you hang out with andwhat sorts of non-verbal messages you're giving them. I mean, if there's a guy you like, but you just go and hang out with him, he'll only think of you as "one of the guys." You need to do something to change that. (Ask him out on a date, maybe?) And if there isn't any special guy, just be patient. You'll find someone. And you might be able to speed up the process by asking guys out, instead of waiting around for them to ask you out.

That's why I'm never going to any of the BYU schools.
Anyway, it doesn't matter what all the LDS guys think, it's only the opinion of that one LDS guy that matters. Look around. There are lots of church members in Idaho, and not all of them go to the Y. Try a YSA activity in another ward or stake, or maybe ask a friend to introduce you to any guy friends they may have not at BYU-I. Despite the overwhelming number of superficial guys out there, there are many good guys who just want a special daughter of God to smooch, without caring about body type or hair color.
The guys around here tend to like the girls with silky, long hair and way too much eye makeup. My longest layer of hair goes halfway down my neck and any time I wear any eye makeup I feel like it's too much. Sometimes we don't fit the majority's standard of beauty or desirability, but that doesn't mean that we're not as likely to find a great guy to love.

dersephy although you'll still have to be a house worker. 3nodding Only because Sephy-kun's lazy... I mean... uhm... ninja Actually, the stated reasons are why I will most definitely not marry a "stereotypical Mormon boy." In fact, I'll end up either being an old maid, or a widow, and live in the attic of a London theatre house, and crochet scarves and blankets to sell so that I can feed my 40 cats, stray bloodhound named "Dawg," myself, and buy breadcrumbs and paper bags, so I can sit on the steps outside the Bank of England, saying "feed the birds, tupence a bag." 4laugh [edit] I just remembered... the last stake dance I went to, I got the DJ to play "Dragostea Din Tei" ((a.k.a. "the Numa Numa song")), and while he was putting it on his computer, I saw his background, and told him it was cute. It was a dark blue background with the words "going to BYU to get married is like going to McDonald's when you're hungry -- It's convinient" in white letters.

Goodness Gracious!
I've read through this thread, and must say, I am quite disappointed! Guys, why do you have to bring home the bacon? Is there something wrong with the female pulling her share? I think the sentiment is nice that you want to take care of your future spouse, but come one! Comments like "although you'll still have to be a house worker." There is no HAVE TO!
Yes, I am a feminist, so my views are a bit extreme, but please fellows, open up your minds!

I am actually not really into skinny blondes who are nothign but housewives. For me I think I like to stress that whoever i marry should be educated. A brain out dose a body anyday in my opinion. You can look as skinny as you want but if you can't carry on a decent conversation im not intrested. anyway Im 23 and not married eaither there is nothing wrong with that. I think sometimes members of the church a marry to quickly beleiving they have to tie the knot at a young age. its okay to get married young but know that you are making the correct decision first. As for me I don't plan on getting married by any time in particular when it happens it happens. right now I have my mind on alot of other things mostly concerning my job. That is to be expected i supose. As for kids. I would love to have alot of kids but realistlcy do I have the means to support them? I think alot of people don't think about it much. I freind of mine got married about a year and a half ago. his wife is pregnent wiht their second kid. not to mention the son she has from a previous marriage. basicly my freind will have 3 very young children to suport and he isnt even done with college yet. he simply dose not have the means to support his family properly i don't think. sorry to go off on little tangents like that. anyway not all guys are lookign for that skinny at home blonde. some of us are a bit mre realistic then that. eventually you will find one of those guys.

nakiato I am actually not really into skinny blondes who are nothign but housewives.....eventually you will find one of those guys. *applaudes* Yes! It's nice to hear someone looking for more then tight hips and bust in a woman. It's refreshing, quite frankly. Though, I might suggest polishing your typing skills if you're looking for a woman of intelligence (I was turned off very much by the frequent lower case letters and lack of proper punctuation). But, I'll take the support for women being more then just trophies from any where!
