-It was a warm fall day. Sun shining, birds singing, hints of color starting to splash the leaves that rustled in the ever so light wind. The absolutely perfect day for a charity bakesale. Which is exactly what Aurora was doing, settled in a fold up chair behind a mostly plastic table.
Before her lay a spread of delightful treats all wrapped up in their own convienent baggy, divided by price and type. Brownies dusted in powdered sugar, three or four different kinds of cookies, delicate puff pastries filled with fruit, and even a few cakes lined the edges of her table, for those really wanting to spend a pretty penny. She herself had a hand in three of the different desserts scattered across the table.
If one were to ask Aurora why she volunteered for crap so often her immediately response would have been 'It's good to help others' but the real reasoning was a step beyond that. Aurora was the sort that believed it was your responsibility to take the first step. If you wanted a world full of peace with a home for every puppy well then, you'd better be the first to bring a puppy home and never raise your voice. Always lead by example. That was the best way to get things done.-

Happy, sunny days were probably the best days ever, contended only by warm, clear summer nights. In his typically bright mood, Pasha was on an exploratory walk, wide smile across his face. He stood out like a glitter-covered sore thumb, even taking the vibrant leaves that had just begun to change, but he seemed to take no notice. Life was good.
And, it seemed, life was getting even better. He immediately paused when he caught sight of what appeared to be a bake sale. Oooh, he loved delicious baked goods even more than happy, sunny days. The girl behind the delicious baked goods didn't look familiar, either, which meant this was probably a fantastic opportunity for a new friend (he loved those, too).
Waving so vigorously that his armful of bracelets jingled, he stepped up to the table.
"Hi! Whatcha up to?"

-She'd been vaguely watching people, polite smile plastered to her face in that welcoming expression that this kind of work demanded, but she hadn't really been staring at anyone particular. Her hands had been arranging plates to keep her mind occupied, when the telltale rattle of jewelry clued her in to someone's approach.
The figure in fact, was exceptionally bright, both seemingly in appearance and in bubbley attitude. Smiling in soft amusement, she shifted her attention upward, prattling off her little scripted greeting, even as she admired that barrage of bracelets that ate up her visitors arms.-
"Hello. We're running a bake sale to help the elementary school buy more supplies for their children. Books, art supplies, you know."

Pasha generally didn't actively participate in volunteer work unless he was invited to it, but it didn't mean that he lacked appreciation for those who did. As long as everyone came out of it happy, he was happy too, and this sort of thing tended to end in lots of happy.
"Wow, that's so nice!" He leaned over the table, inspecting everything, judging what might be most delicious. Deciding on a cake, he pointed to it as he fished in his pocket...which came up with nothing but a few stray beads.
"Oh." Embarrassed and feeling foolish in front of the nice girl, he stepped back from the table, suddenly shy. "I'm super sorry, but I don't have any money with me. I would help if I could, though! Really, promise!"

-She smiled happily as he admired the treats, always pleased to think that someone might be enjoying something she'd created. She felt her heart jump just a little each time his eyes glanced over her own treats, grinning softly as he stopped at one of the cakes. A big sale!
Money didn't come however, instead beads that looked like they might have fallen off of one of the many bracelets that decorated him up. And as he stepped back with the shy face of an angel, she felt her heart melt.
She reached for one of the bags of brownies, ready to hand it his way, when the offer registered in her head. Help huh? It was getting a little boring sitting her all alone...
Digging into her own purse at the side of the chair, she pulled out a couple of bills, musing softly.- "I suppose if you wanted to help me finish out my shift, I could help buy you that cake."
"I've only got about an hour until my replacement shows up." -She assured with a nod. It was a good idea. Make her less bored, add an extra sell, and maybe even intice more buyers with the scents and sights of the treats actually being enjoyed instead of stuck in sanitary bags.-

His smile brightened again at her suggestion, and he clapped his hands together, just as excited as a child whose mother had allowed him another cookie from the jar.
"Really? You mean it? Ohhh, everything you do is nice!" he cheered, bouncing to stand behind the table next to her. "I have lots of time to spare. I could definitely wait with you that long!" And it was a great opportunity to talk to a new (possible) friend, which was always a definite plus.
"Did you make any of this? I don't get to bake a whole lot, but I really love sweets. And when I do bake, it doesn't always really come out that delicious, but I make it really pretty with lots of sprinkles." He tended to get a little overzealous when someone humored him, and it was becoming very obvious. Especially considering he'd gone this long and had completely forgotten to tell her his name. "Oh, yeah! My name is Pavel, but you can call me Pasha too. Either one is okay! What's yours?"

-His excitement and pep were contagious, and she nodded simply as he made his way around the table, sliding some money into the little box that held all the fund and change.
And said excitement did not fade as his question arose, nodding briskly.- "I made this cake, and these pastries, and the brownies." -She pointed to each as she named it off, watching to see how he'd respond. The tastes of good food were a great reward, but to her it had always been the appreciation of others that was the real reward. When her dad had made some subtle but pleased sigh... or the way Mili came back again and again to eat with her. That was totally what was best.
Drawn back from her wandering thought, she giggled a little at the admission.- "I don't use sprinkles that often. But they can be very pretty."
"And colorful." -She added, taking in the 'kid's' attire once more. She actually assumed he was younger due to his height and well.. the attitude. Young and cute and sweet. Yep, it seemed like bright colors were right up his alley.-
"Thanks for helping Pavel, I'm Aurora."
