THIS IS INDEED ABOUT THE MODERATOR POSITION UP FOR GRABS. SO PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS INFLUENCE YOU ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.

So after looking over every one else's applications, I realized that the only votes I have a chance to win are from the people that actually know me, which is not comprised of a large portion of the guild. Even out of those people I still don't expect most of their votes. So basically I'm just upset about the fact that because I screwed up by not putting enough thought into something I won't be able to get something I care about deeply. Also I don't really expect any one to see this much less respond, so that's why I not particularly worried about this influencing people, but if you have read this please don't let it influence you one way or the other on your vote.

'Tis just a position.
Trade knowledge of the inner working of a system for the liabilities. If e'er an enemy force were to aim for someone's head, it would be the head of those in charge.

[/random]
All in all, the ones who get elected should be good candidates.

Awe, didn't know you felt so strongly about it. I wish you good luck, but really, it's nothing special, like divine said, it's just a position.

Most people don't know who the mods are anyway.
People kept thinking Rayne was a mod already xp
PostPosted: Mon Nov 02, 2009 8:08 pm

Why didn't you put much thought into it if you cared a lot about it?

Personally, I think you'd make a great mod, which is why I voted for you. I've actually been getting a lot of votes from people I've never spoken to, so apparently people really do read the applications...

This.
I would assume if someone really cared about something they would put their full effort forward, which is a trait you want in a mod. No offense, but I wouldn't necessarily want someone who half-@$$edd their application to be a mod, I'd want someone who really put thought into what they said. (I read ALL of the applications before voting, which caused me to NOT vote for people I would have otherwise chosen and vice-versa)

What does having to write about yourself have to do with the job of moderating? Absolutely nothing. You're not trying out for a position that requires you to write an autobiography every day. That is the only circumstance in which the quality of the application would be a relevant factor to consider. Since a job as a moderator would not be based on writing skill, but the individual's time and judgment, I think that anyone who would make a judgment of an individual's fitness as a moderator based on the quality of the application would be making a mistake. This is why I didn't even read the applications.

First off. OH GOD THERE ARE PEOPLE HERE!

@Divine: Yeah, and I hope they work out and every thing I'm just a little sad I screwed my self over. Again.

@CH0Z0: It's kind of an "There are people I actually like! Must be involved some how" kind of caring.

@Little Miss Fortune: Because well I didn't really even expect to get this far, but I figured I'd try anyway. Thank you though.

@Aneyana: I completely agree, I'm just now getting that if I actually put time into my application I might have actually stood a chance at winning.

@Dystopian Lover: Actually it does show how much one actually cares about getting the position, and how they would think about solving the problem, but maybe I just read into things a bit.

It's not just a position.

Being a worker at McDonalds is differnt from working here. You kind of have to really care. neutral

Creas, I totally think you would make a good mod. But at the same time, it is in part, a popularity contest. You have to be known. If the people didn't have a say in who became moderator, they'd baw. >.x Ironically, I wouldn't say it's personal. You may just need to be more. . . flamboyant? =D
If you can think of a better system for getting moderators, let me know. D:

Oh, and there will eventually be more mods. Have no fears.

I knew that, which was pretty much the only reason I entered in the first place (even though I knew I wouldn't win) it's just that well...reality is a b***h. I did think I was a bit more known than I am though. I'm fixing this after the voting.

Not according to people who have voted. There are at least two "who the hell is Creas"s up there. Maybe more, but I don't feel like looking.

LMF acts like a mod already. If she wins, I doubt much is gonna change. Just having the title of "mod" shouldn't change much. You shouldn't care about being a mod, you should care about helping the guild. You don't need a title to do that.

Though I'm kinda biased when it comes to "I actually care about being a mod! crying " Someone I knew cared about being a mod, then the members said they didn't want her. Very very bad ending.

I really doubt anything would change save a few more people having extra buttons to screw around with, and the ability to poke around in the crew forum. The people with the most votes right now already act like mods.

Who is this person you speak of. I'm sure I know what you're talking about, I just don't remember.

If you don't become a moderator, it's not because of your application.

Consider who you're up against. Both Rayne and LMF are prominent members of the guild, they already act like moderators from time to time, they're both well known for sticking to their ideals.

Maybe try doing more moderatey things? Pulling people across layers at events and things like that. xp I can tell you that'd you'd earn my vote for the next one if you did, since that's what I look for when deciding who I want in. :3

I do pull people across layers at events. I plan on starting a contest after the voting though so that'll be neat. I'm starting it after the voting so people don't think I'm doing it just for the position. I've wanted to do one for a while.
