What the balls? So guys, apparently Nintendo is moving on towards Blu-ray and 1080p (and lower) resolutions. Thoughts? Quote: We've just received some exclusive news and specs on the Wii 2 via Logic-Sunrise.com) (though a Nintendo of France marketing employee). The leaked specs denote the Wii 2 will get a Blu-ray drive (mainly to stop piracy), but will also support 1080P for games as well as movies. The new system is due out during the third quarter of next year and there will be the option to trade in old Wii's!

Nintendo of France leaked information about Wii "2?" Honestly? And what the hell is Maxconsole.net or www.Logic-sunrise.com? People have been speculating about Wii 2 as soon as Wii came out. I really don't think it'll go Blu-Ray though, isn't that kind of a Sony thing?

dragn99 Actually Fish, Blu-Ray is the new "official" video standard. I was under the impression Sony had some kind of ownership of Blu-Ray in someway, but I don't think that's the case. So it seems logical that the next Nintendo console would move up to the next disc format, because I can't imagine them releasing another one with DVD.

...Okay... If this is real, I'm stumped. Should I pay to get my Wii fixed, or should I wait and buy this instead...

Super Cheesio ...Okay... If this is real, I'm stumped. Should I pay to get my Wii fixed, or should I wait and buy this instead... Well, you have the option to trade your current Wii in to get a cheaper price on the new one. But apparently it's not coming out until the third quarter next year.

Nintendo boned over Sony with the Playstation because they didn't want to use the Disc format, among other things. And now Nintendo would be using a format that Sony came up with for their next console. Lawl.
