This is a forum for all those high school and middle school Orchestra kids .Why? because the band forums are dominating! ahem. this is were we can all just talk randomly about stuff that happens in our orchestra class or on stage or out on trips and activities! So have fun!
Oh, and the title is because there are very few people in orchestra, just like in the marines. So yeah, little joke there, hehe.

Omg ur so right i have been playing the violin for 4 years!!!! I was put up a grade ahead so i'm in 8th grade orchestra even though im in 7th grade!!! In orchestra its funny because i play a mix of both 1st and 2nd violin so im always moving my papers and my stand partner plays some different ones like i may be 1st and she'll be 2nd so sometimes i get lost and yell out"Where r we" in the middle of a song!!!

*looks at poll and shakes head sadly* they always forget the Bassoon...
I'm that loser playing the big wind instrument in the middle of the back row....you know...the one that's usually either a one man section, or one of two?
I'm not in an orchestra yet, but it's a huge goal of mine.

IM in 2 concert bands, jazz band marching band and I take piano
BUt still I wish I could be in an orchestra (oh yeah im in youtuh symphony, does that count? D smile

MY INSTRUMENT.
Lol. My orchestra lost our bassist because she failed a class and has to retake it. She'll be back next semester, for now, I'm stuck playing octaves with my left hand. xD

I'm not in an orchestra yet, but it's a huge goal of mine. in band camp, the bassoons were just these ultra cool kids, in my case, they did great impressions and things like that ^ ^

I noticed no one voted in the Double bass... I find them to be the funniest people in the orchestra. One time they drew a switch board and put it on the directors stand. They had there section and full volume, and an eject button over the second violins, cause we all tend to, how do I say... suck :/ atlest in my orchestra, it's because the majority of us are sophomores... only two jouniors and one senior (I dis like her in a way)
and next year, were losing four out of five bass players! three of them are seniors, and the other is a sopomare graduating early, so he has to take a lot of dual credit next year so no room for orchestra D': were shrinking

I play the Viola heart I have been playing since 5th grade, and I'm in 8th now. I love Orchestra, it's my favorite class in school. What's your guys favorite piece of music you've played so far? Mine is probably Medieval Wars or Dragon Dances, although right now we are working on Spirit Of The American West, and Fantasy On American Themes, and those are turning out to be pretty cool.

I'm a violinist, I play either one or two (usually one) but my school's concert band is so small, there's only two of us voilins and three string players in the whole ensemble...
Then again, I'm from a country public school so that's pretty good I guess...
Our teacher, Miss Whitmore, always has a few stories to tell us at band practice and we elaborate on them. A lot...
We have no brass players; that's right, no annoying trumpet players or trombone players. We only have three saxaphone players (two alto's and one tenor), two flutes, one clarinet, one drummer XP, and two bassists, as well as two violinists and a cellist. Oh, and two pianists. Terribly small :/

i am a freshman in my high school orchestra and i am first chair already O.o that blew my mind away (i mean it too cause the next day i couldnt think right lolz)) and i am going out w/ a band geek too lolz

Ah... the Orch Dorks... This year, I'm playing 2nd Violin, but next year I'll be a senior, so I get to play first. (The seniors always play first.) I started Viola this year though. Our bass section is so funny. They all are really bad except for this one dude, but they have all these secret rules, like at least one person has to be "in the bathroom" at all times.
