I've found that in Vegas, A&W seems to taste the best, but in Tempe, Mug ruled the day. I still like Mug better overall because it's available in more locations (though Barq's seems to be EVERYWHERE...), but recently I've been addicted to Big Fizz. It's Rite Aid's brand, and it comes in a three liter bottle for 99 cents. I've had two of those bottles in the last...four days.

I suggest you try some on your next restaurant visit...no matter where it may be. It's my personal favorite soda type, followed at a distance by orange soda (jury's still out on the best brand there though).

And I just remembered something I hate about root beer...yes, it's true. There's something I hate about it. It's when I go to certain places, they only have the bottled kind, and they won't give me unlimited refills. Damn cheap bastards.

A&W root beer is pretty much the only soft drink I'll have (I'm not fond of the aftertaste in softdrinks.) A&W's is so damn tasty, I had some this passing weekend and is was soo satisfying biggrin ...ugh, I just made myself thirsty sad

Tips: arrow Don't try to drink root beer with a Twizzler's as a straw. It'll fizz up over the can and you have a big mess. It might work better with other carbonated drinks.
arrow Try a root beer float with Neopolitan ice cream instead of vanilla. To me, it tastes much better. (sounds weird, but it's very good)

(sounds weird, but it's very good) I've tried it with chocolate, and...I think it was eggnog flavored as well. Lots of different types go well with it. I figure I'll just get a couple three liters and a gallon of vanilla and consume it en mass.
