Unnamed Research Facility
Somewhere distant in the middle of nowhere, underground, there is a research facility. What purpose does it have? no one knows.
Inside the facility there is a strange glass room where a prisoner is kept. simple furniture is about the room. A very small simple garden with a window giving it sunlight.
What is this room for?
can't tell you yet : D.

A man with a bushy beard and large glasses comes trotting down a long set of metal stairs as he scratches his curly hair with a pen.
"This does not read at all, she is still just dreaming about simple things." He flips through his notepad that he carried and the soles of his shoes make clopping sounds.
"What wrong Rick?" Another man says. He is sitting downstairs in front of a large computer monitor and in front of a bunch of buttons and keyboards. The man had short black hair and two different eye colours. One blue and one black. In his mouth was a cig and his eyes seemed like he was half asleep. He had freckles and his labcoat was on his chair.
"nothing Pat, its just that I think we won't be able to access this gurl's subconscious, all she dreams about is just.... memories..." Rick sat on top of the table Pat worked at and threw his notepad onto the table.
"we need to trigger her memories of the gate... That's the only way we can get it to work...Seems like only traumatizing events showed herself at the gates." Pat pulled away his cig and took a deep exhale into the air.
"We can't harm her either, she pulls away a lot of her thoughts if she feels frightened. That will jeopardize the whole experiment."
"It's like taking care of a princess... "
"Tell me about it,"
"whatever it's time for another interview with the gal I'll go in this time.."
Pat got up from his seat and crossed his arms. Though he was a scientist he was pretty fit, and looked as though he had military training. he stepped towards a large glass door and took three knocks on it.
"Hey, Sakura, you awake?"

As soon as the first knocked sounded, Kagura, Sakura's pet tiger cub, leapt from the tree branch and bounded towards the glass door. Kagura was already batting and licking the glass. It's tail flicked playfully as it anticipated the entrance of its favorite chew toy. Kagura's eyes were locked on the man about the enter the room, ready to pounce as soon as the door opened.
Sakura woke up drowsily from her tree. Although the garden was small, a tree was brought into the facility. Although there was a bed, Sakura preferred to sleep on the branches of the tree. It wasn't because it was more comfortable; the tree branches just moved with her as if cradling her. It was for this reason that she never fell off the tree. The bed was a completely different story.
A giant upside down pink, bell-shaped flower was resting on Sakura's head. It looked like a flower and smelled close to a flower, but it was actually a high-tech device that read Sakura's thoughts as she slept. The color and shape of the hat was the only way Sakura would wear it, much to the scientists' dismay...and millions of dollars placed into research in order create such a hat. The first model was just a simple dome-shaped hat that they tried her that it was a night cap. She believed it, being the oblivious fairy that she was. The problem was it wasn't pretty enough for her to wear.
Sakura let the hat drop to the grassy floor beneath her. This was another problem the researchers had to address; they had to make it durable enough. Yawning, she stepped onto the grass, letting the coolness of each blade massage her bare feet. She looked around for something to eat, and decided on some orchids. Grabbing a stem, she walked over towards Pat, popping a flower into her mouth with every few steps.
"Patttttt~ I need more of those big yellow flowers! The one that looks like the sun! Are we going to play more games today?"
Sakura didn't really consider herself a captive...actually she didn't even know she was being held captive. She considered everything a game, and they seemed to supply enough food for her to stay content. Her thoughts wandered to Kurai once in a while, wondering why he hadn't visited her yet.
Kagura had stopped pawing and licking the door, and was now crouched, ready to chew.

I wish they would cage that furry little thing... Pat thought to himself as he glared down at the tiger. Already he knew what the small feline was up to. This time he was prepared though! He changed his shoes into hiking boots, and his legs had shin guards on, underneath his brown slacks. Without fear he entered the room. To his surprise Kagura was crouched but didn't pounce yet. A rather uneasy silence came between the creature and the man.
Does he know I'm protected? He thought but then focused his attention to Sakura.
"Patttttt~ I need more of those big yellow flowers! The one that looks like the sun! Are we going to play more games today?"
Like a freakin princess... He thought to himself. But gave a warm smile to Sakura. He lifted up the strange flower headpiece and placed it next to him as he knelt on the ground. He pulled forward a suitcase.
"Yes Sakura we are going to play the picture game again!" Pat said in a fake upbeat voice. "Please tell me what you see in these pictures.."
Pat pulled up a strange picture of something round with sharp ink strokes going outwards from it.

"Not thisssss game againnn!" Sakura playfully pouted.
Furrowing her eyebrows together as if she was in deep thought, a peel of giggles burst from her lips.
"Heeheehee! Like Kagura! Heehee!" Sakura continued giggly. Ink always had water, and she had rearranged the ink to form into what looked like a Chinese painting of her fluffy pet.
At that moment, Kagura launched into a full attack on Pet's legs. To its surprise, it came into contact with new material. It didn't matter too much. A chew toy was a chew toy! It continued its small fury on Pat's left leg, gnawing away as his shoe and scratching as his shin.
Watching her Kagura with a loving look, Sakura just thought it was so adorable! Even when it was destroying something, there was just something so irresistibly cute about her baby tiger. She wondered if Pat felt the same way. After all, it was Pat Kagura was playing with.
"Gimme another~!" Sakura beamed back at Pat.

Friends as the first thought again... Pat thought to himself after hearing Sakura's response. As Sakura stated her answer he used his other hand to scribble down the response on a notepad. As soon as he finished scribbling it seemed to have signaled Kagura to attack Pat's legs.
Pat turned to the small feline and let out a face of victory against the creature. Thats right! not this time! No more buying new slacks every week! no more bandages and wrapping up! BWAHAH!
wait i put the guards on the inside of my pants... Pat watched as his left legging get torn apart revealing his shin guards.
With a soft sigh of defeat he pulled down the inkblot. He paused however as he saw that the picture changed. He studied the painting then turned to sakura who was still giggling. Completely ignoring Kagura's attack
"did you do that?" He held up the inkblot again. "Different game! Change the picture again! change it to... what you think The Gates look like!"
outside the glass dome Rick was wearing large headphones listening on to what the two had to say, studying every thing.
Is it too soon to mention "the gates?" Rick thought to himself. don't make her feel threatened Pat.. come on...

Quaint echoes drifted down the metallic staircase in a slow cadence. The rhythm matched the steps of a woman with a slight frame and thoughtful posture. Her outfit was entirely violet and white; her hair, too, violet and shadowing her pale brow and cheeks, with slender bangs resting upon her chest.
The echoes followed her across the tile floor until she stopped in front of the glass room. In silence, the woman locked her emerald eyes upon the young fairy who was laughing at her pet tiger's playful behavior. The woman's hands were folded, clasping to the stems of a small bouquet of blade-petaled freesias.
"Lady Aurora!?" Rick said, his glasses nearly falling off his face as he whipped his head around. "I had not noticed... I mean... I thought... It is good to see you, my lady, but what is your reason for being here?"
The golden spheres that hung from Aurora's ears shook in time with her head.
"Please don't let me trouble you. I just... wish to check on our guest."
Rick twisted his beard between his fingers.
"Hmmm. All right... so long as Zagur doesn't get mad at us, I guess it's all right."
"Thank you," Aurora said, briefly beaming him a smile before adding, "May I go inside?"
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but... well, there's a baby tiger in there," Rick replied. "I mean, look at what he did to Pat's pants. I would hate for you to be harmed or to have your nice dress ruined."
"I'll be all right," she said. "I was actually hoping I could pet him."
"Well, if you insist, Lady Aurora." Rick approached the glass room and opened the door for her. She dipped into a shallow curtsy and gracefully walked inside.
As the door clicked behind her, Kagura's bright tiger eyes peered up from the shredded remains of Pat's pants ankle to gaze at the lady. With only a single playful bound he was already licking at her legging. Aurora bent down and stroked the tiger's fur with her nimble fingers. Kagura stopped licking and leaned his head back to purr. A short laugh escaped Aurora's lips.
"Ah... well. Hello, Aurora," Pat said as he turned to face her. "I see Kagura's taken a liking to you too. At least he's a lot gentler than he is with me..."
Aurora looked up at Pat, smiling. "Hello, Pat. I was hoping I could give our guest some real flowers. Would that be all right?"
"Sure. So long as Kagura stops eating my leg while you're here, go on ahead."
Aurora straightened her posture and walked towards the fairy. She extended her hand holding the freesias.
"These are for your garden, if you would like," she said. "Are they pleasing to you?"

Sakura focused intently on the paper, pleased with the new game Pat and her were playing. She meant to draw a picture of Pat's grumpy face, but when Kagura went to the new stranger, she stopped. The black ink somehow turned into a rainbow on the paper.
The scent of the freesias reached her before she saw the new woman. Her wine-colored eyes locked in on the freesias as her mouth opened a little in anticipation. She knew she wouldn't eat them yet...well maybe a taste... She wanted them to grow a bit first.
"They're prettiness! I love themmmm~!" Sakura squealed as she glided over to the stranger.
Lowering her face down into the red-hued flowers, she inhaled deeply, familiarizing herself with the scent. They smelled divine. Smiling brightly, Sakura carried it over to her garden, and placed it in the earth. A small green, glowing orb materialized from her palm and was absorbed by the plant. Although no difference could be seen at first, the magic was still occurring. The roots extended itself into the earth, securing its place in Sakura's garden. Little by little, the flowers began to grow even more. The bloom seemed brighter and larger than before. Giggling to herself, Sakura petted the new addition to her garden. She loved watching pretty plants grow...almost as much as she enjoyed eating them.
Plucking off a couple stems, she held them out to Pat and the new woman. "Want to try? They are yummy!"

Is Kagura just some kind of feminist? Maybe he only likes females? sexist....
Pat flipped the drawing so that he could observe if Sakura changed anything. to his suprise, this time she added colour to it. "the heck.." Pat muttered to himself. this goes beyond science. How the heck did she now change the colours of the painting... Pat wanted to examine this further, but with Aurora in the room, he saw that his priorities changed now.
"How did you know our little fairy liked flowers?" Pat whispered over to Aurora as he watched the young fairy go and plant them.
"... did you see this in some other dimension? Do you know the original Sakura?"
Before he could get an answer he was offered a treat.
".... uhh..." Pat paused and then turned to Aurora.
is... is it rude not to take it? Pat asked through his confused facial expression.

Aurora smiled at the fairy's offer.
"Thank you so much for sharing. I'm sorry... I have to be very careful what I eat nowadays. Please help yourself to them," she said.
Aurora then quickly glanced to Pat, winked to signal that he did not have to eat the flowers, and looked back at Sakura.
"Hello, Sakura. I think it would be best if I introduced myself to you. My name's Aurora. I hope that we can become friends!"
As she spoke, Kagura eyes the the flower stems greedily. In a moment, he lept into the air, snatching the flower stems in his mouth. As soon as he landed, the young tiger scampered towards the tree Sakura had been sleeping in and laid his head down at the base of the tree. He then placed the stems back in his paws and, tail flicking, licked away at the flower stems. Aurora again laughed at Kagura's antics. But, instead of commenting on Kagura, Aurora gestured towards the ink drawing Pat held in his hands.
"Sakura, your ink drawing changed colors. It's beautiful. Have you been any place that looks like your drawing?"
Aurora knew that she had, of course, but the importance of the question was whether Sakura remembered or not. Aurora folded her hands in front of herself again and began to squeeze her fingers in her palm to help hold back an impulse to cry; perhaps she could convince Pat to only conduct tests that evoked positive feelings in the fairy, though Aurora really wished she could set Sakura free. But at this moment she said nothing more, choosing instead to stand there and continue smiling.

Sakura twirled around at the word friend.
"Yaaay~! We can be friends! We can play games like together like Pat!" Sakura giggled as she continued twirling.
When Kagura ran to the tree, Sakura called her faithful pet back. Flowers in jaw, Kagura dashed back to Sakura, leaping into her welcoming arms. Sakura cradled her adorable tiger in her arms, feeding a flower petal at a time.
When Aurora asked her the question about her drawing, one could also see the question marks form about her head. A rainbow was beautiful, but surely everybody has seen a rainbow before. But since Aurora was her new friend, she'd make a rainbow just for her!
There was a cup of water on the desk that Pat usually sat at to play games, but it was enough water. Shifting Kagura onto only one arm, Sakura waved towards the water and made a large arching motion with her arm. A mist seemed to crawl out of the cup before rushing across the glass room. A beautiful rainbow arched across the entire glass room, reflecting off the glass walls. It was a beautiful sight. Even Kagura paused eating to mew at it.
"This is a rainbow!" Sakura beamed.

Seeing Aurora wink Pat mouthed an "ah" and then turned to Sakura.
"I--- I'm allergic to flowers sorry.." He came up with and motioned his arms as a reject to Sakura's botanic meal. But it seemed Sakura could care less and was much more excited to Aurora's claim to be her friend. He watched her twirl about so much it almost made him dizzy.
"... I hope this doesn't mean she never had many friends to begin with" Pat chuckled and then pulled out another cig. "The gal nevertheless has a lot of energy, hope you know what kind of contract you signed up with this girl after you offered friendship.."
"smoke Mam?" Pat offered to Aurora. While holding out the cig to Aurora Pat pulled out another smoke and threw it into the air. Quickly he reached into his pocket to pull out a lighter struck it on, swung it in the air and lighted the cig as it fell. Quickly and swiftly he caught the cig with two of his fingers out and stuck it in his mouth. Then pulled his lighter back into his pocket. Smugly he smiled at Aurora.
This mood was quickly broken when sakura created a mist, dousing his cig quickly before it could spark itself to life.
"he--HEy!" Pat cried out a bit annoyed.

[Note: Received permission from Rayan to use Aurora]
"Rick! I thought I told you to start the experiment."
The mentioned man jerked in his seat and swiveled to face a woman standing in the doorway. "Ah, sister dear. Pat's inside already. I wasn't aware you would be coming so soon."
The woman narrowed her eyes and her lips twitched into a sneer, "Does it matter when I'm here? Both you and Pat, slackers. Nothing would get done with just you two. Can't get anything done unless I do it myself." The woman walked sharply towards him, her heels clicking sharply against the floor with each step.
"Is that an UNAUTHORIZED person in there?" The woman pointed a well manicured finger at Aurora's figure when the glass room came into view. Not waiting for an answer, the woman strode into the glass room where the three people and tiger were. Immediately Kagura growled at the new woman's presence.
"You, state your name and purpose for being here," the woman stopped a short distance from the group, taking an intimidating stance with her arms crossed in front.
"Kiera," Pat started before silencing at the glare his elder sister sent at him.
Aurora smiled at the rude woman while brushing imaginary debris from her clothes. "My name's Aurora. I was just wondering what..."
"This area is restricted. Unless you have clearance, which you do not, you are not welcome here. Please leave immediately. Obviously you need to review the rule book. Your presence could tamper our delicate experiments."
Aurora was slightly taken back when Kiera had cut her off but regulations did state that one should not enter restricted rooms to avoid disrupting experiments. "I'm sorry," Aurora started.
"Pat, see to it that she leaves this sector and does not get lost on her way out. Now."
"C'mon Lady Aurora. I'll show you the way out," Pat said in a quivering voice. This was a good chance for him to leave before his sister lashed out even more.
Aurora was slightly dazed by Kiera's attitude but it was understandable if an experiment were interrupted. She was going to offer to leave by herself, but then she realized two things. One, Kiera wanted to make sure she left completely and two, Pat looked like he needed an excuse to leave the tense atmosphere. She smiled at Pat and let herself be escorted out. It seems the less shes spoke, the less Kiera would lash out or interrupt.
Once Pat was on his way out with Aurora, Kiera surveyed her surroundings, ignoring the fairy and tiger. Her eyes landed on the flower hat. She walked over and picked it up. "Sakura dear, I'm taking this to make it prettier."
Kiera made her way back to Rick and the machines. "Let's download what we have so far." Kiera hooked up a few wires from a computer to a hidden compartment in the hat.

"C'mon Lady Aurora. I'll show you the way out," Pat said. Aurora followed him out of the glass room and began to walk up the metal staircase. She ascended slowly, placing her hand on the guardrail as she climbed without speaking. Pat reached the top of the staircase before she did and entered the code for opening the door to the outside, each button press sounding with a "beep." A chime confirmed that the correct password had been entered; the ceiling of the staircase folded back into the walls and sunlight cascaded into the underground lab. Pat turned to take Aurora's hand and help her climb the rest of the stairs until she stood upon grass. In front of them stood the Fyia Organization Headquarters, the above-ground portion of the Fyia Labs network.
"So... yeah. Sorry about my sister..." Pat started to say, scratching his head as if he did not know what to say. "She is... pretty uptight when it comes to getting expe- er, work done."
Aurora smiled somberly back.
"Please pay her no mind. I understand her work is important. I'm sorry I was in the way."
She paused, then, without thinking, brought her hands together and began to squeeze her own fingers.
"Pat. Please promise me something." Aurora's violet eyes stared right into his. "Make sure that anything Kiera does... does not hurt Sakura in any way. She'll find the gates someday, but you don't have to cause her stress to find them. You can do so by helping her find complete joy." Aurora paused again, then looked down and to the side. She tried not to shiver.
"Please, believe me. I couldn't bear to see her suffer needlessly..."

What did I just say? I really don't know why I have an attachment to this Fairy... she's just business is she not? Pat thought to himself as he returned to the lab. She's just business. She's just business. She isn't even real. She's just a clone. Made in someones image. that is all. Pat's face got more stern and closed his two coloured eyes. Then brought a hand over his face to ruffle his black hair.
"What's going on?" Pat said as he joined his sister and brother again. Rick was next to Kiera both of them were staring at a computer screen.
"Pat.. Did Sakura try damaging this device?" Rick asked his brother placing a hand over the strange flower shaped helmet. "no?" Pat answered. "At least I don't think she did, there is no exterior damage.." "Well something is very wrong with the inside.." Rick said as he stroked his beard thoughtfully. This data, it has large clumps of strange corrupt data at the times she is having her REM sleep. This never happened before from her old dreams... So.. what's going on here now? Here let me show you.." Rick then began to click away at the computer.
After few clicks a loud deafening screech was emitted from the computer forcing the brothers to cower and cover their ears. "wha- what the AHHHH!!" Pat cried out angrily. "Turn the damn thing off!" He demanded. Before Rick could do so, the helmet began sparking and caused all the computer screens to flicker widely.
"... turn TURN OFF THE POWER! Kiera please watch out!" Pat cried out and without waiting began to push Kiera upstairs away from the all the computers. Rick ran ahead of Kiera. "Right! Ill get to the power grid upstairs!"
"No time Kiera! The organization Fyia will have our heads if we break everything here!" Pat stated.
